Major Davis, the scumbag who had tried to lock Ally away in prison – but not before torturing her – was in for a reckoning. Anna had managed to discover that he was a known associate of R4, the terrorist group, despite supposedly being a loyal subject of the government. As soon as Ally found out, she’d said she wanted to help out in any way she could. She wanted the sucker to go down, obviously, and so did Anna for what he did. But they needed an actual plan before they did anything, and so, with a little help from Ben, she’d formulated a plan, and Ally had been game.
The plan was to use Ally as bait. Anna started getting her contacts to spread rumours that Ally was looking into technology to do with manipulating energy from black holes, something which R4 would be interested in. They then set Ally up in an apartment in New York, making her easy enough to find when R4 came knocking.
Anna was stationed a block or so away with her surveillance equipment and a stack of food and drink so she didn’t have to leave the apartment. A couple of her old army buddies were on standby in case she needed them. She had contact with Ally via the computer, which was untraceable and couldn’t be hacked (thanks to Hollie), but they couldn’t have any voice conversations, just in case someone was listening in.
Someone was bound to visit Ally any hour now, they just had to wait it out.
”How are you doing?” Anna typed, the conversation popping up on Ally’s screen, ”surviving?”

Alliana heaved a heavy sigh, extending her strong legs to the other chair. She had been bored for the past..oh what was it, 6 hours? There wasn't much to do here, despite all the technology. It was sort of homey, modern. Somedays she considered dropping from the Venia and finally settling down, but thanks to her future dream, she knew it would come in due time. After flipping through the unfathomable amount of channels, and a breif nap on the couch, she finally turned to her computer. "Hey, yeah. I'm managing. Bored, sorta nervous, but ya know. The usual. How's it on your end?" She chuckled to herself. This was far from usual. She hadn't been gone but maybe a day, but she was already missing the safety and security of the Venia. this was dangerous mission and for once in her life, she wasn't brave. Despite the way she seemed, she was absolutely terrified inside. davis had struck a chord of fear in her heart, and she was beginning to regret her decision to do this. After all, he had ripped her, in bare skin, away from Luke in what could've been the best week of her life, cut short. She loathed and feared him. It had to be done, and frankly, she was the only one who could do it.

Anna's jacket slipped off the back of her chair and she sighed, reaching down to pick it up before tossing it on the sofa opposite. "Not usually a surveillance/stake-out sort of girl, but I've done my fair share of waiting. At least here I can do it in a computer chair rather than crouched in the mud getting soaked by the pouring rain."
It may not have been usual for Ally, but this was more than normal for Anna, better than normal actually... in some ways any way. At the moment she wasn't in danger, and she was fairly comfortable, which were the good things. Thing was, in her line of work, she'd much rather be out doing something than sitting and watching. But she could put up with it, for now. Besides, messaging Ben as well when he wasn't working was sure to keep her amused.
Glancing back at the screen, she sat up alert. "Someone's at the door, about to knock. Get details, report back ASAP."

Ally heaved a sigh, staring over at the window. She folded her arms and slid in a little further, auditing into the chair. The afternoon sun cascaded through the window. Fall was in the air and she missed the feeling of the outdoors. Space was cold and empty and far from the beauty of the seasons. Ally flipped on her hologram chip and chilled with her Music For a bit. It was far from light, but she'd had the song stuck in her head all day. Anna's message pinged on her screen and she clicked it to type back. "Alright....." She pressed enter and chewed her lip, tasting the copper flavlour that released. She seemed brave, but deep inside she was far from it. Soon enough, there was a knock at the door. She heaved a heavy slow sigh and pushed herself up from the chair. Ally made her way to the door and opened it gently. "You the contact?"

Anna could tell that Ally was having second thoughts about all this. Truth be told, if Anna could have done this herself, then she would have done. Only, when Ally had been keen to help out, she’d jumped at the chance of having Ally along, it was an easy way of luring Major Davis out. Only, now Ally realised how much danger she could be in doing this, she was nervous. Anna didn’t blame her, but now that they were here, they needed to see it through. Besides, she would protect Ally, she had already promised both Ally and Luke that.
Anna watched as Ally opened the door, the man looking Ally up and down before speaking. ”Meat Packing District,” he said curtly, ”Warehouse 35B, midnight, come alone.” He eyed her once more before turning and leaving, his message delivered. Anna waited anxiously at her computer for Ally to tell her what exactly had been said.

The large man eyed her, looking her up and down like a piece of meat. Ally swallowed the lump in her throat down again. She could do this, it was just a mission. Nothing more..just..just a job. "I'll be there." She replied, putting on the most confident face she could muster. She closed the door as he left and went to sink back into the couch.
With a heavy sigh, she buried her face into a couch pillow and let out a small scream of angst. She laid there for a few minutes before peeling herself up to go answer Anna. "Contact made, They wanted me to meet them at the Meat Packing District, Warehouse 35B at midnight. They want me alone" She typed, sniffling a little as the AC kicked on. "Keep me company for..another..5 hours?"She pulleld her laptop from the table, resting it on her knees as she cuddled up on the couch. It was gonna be a long night.

Anna waited with a sympathetic look on her face as Ally fell onto the sofa and buried her face in a pillow, lying there for some time before sitting up again. It really didn't help the doubts that Anna was beginning to have about this whole mission. If Ally couldn't hack it, and something went wrong, then Anna would be saddled with all the guilt and blame. She was the one who had let Ally do this.
One thing was for sure, she wasn't letting Ally go in there alone. If something happened to her and Anna wasn't there then she would never forgive herself. "Sure thing," Anna typed back, "just chill, relax, deep breathing and all that crap. You're going to be fine." Or, at least, Anna really, really hoped so.
The five hours cruised by at a steady pace until it was eventually time for Ally to head out. Anna had already scoped out the perfect place to watch the meet from, placing a fibreoptic camera through a small hole in the roof of the building. Once that was set up, she laid low on the roof of the building opposite, she was in running distance if something went wrong. Now, it was all up to Ally. To meet Major Davis and get the information they needed to incriminate him.

Ally's fingers flew across the keys replying back to anna. They talked for the rest of the afternoon, changing subject to lighter things like their boys, vacations, holidays, anything they could think up. It passed the time and lessened Ally's fear of the coming storm. Eventually, the hour came and she readied herself for her mission. Putting on a black hoodie, she tired her wild curls back and inconspicuously left the apartment.
She slid out like a shadow, clinging to the darkness and holding herself back from the fall chill that was creeping in. She shoved her hands into the pocket and shivered a little. The Warehouse glowed with a small light from a far window and she knew she was in the right place. Ally stood at the entrance, heaving a heavy sigh and rolling her hands into tight fists. This was more of a mindset than anything else. if she believed she could force herself into it, she could. This was for justice, for Luke, for Anna, for the entire crew of venia, and better yet, for the safety of the entire galaxy...well...possibly. The idea helped her courage. "You can do this...she breathed." Reaching up to knock on the door.

Fixing her ear piece in, Anna crouched behind a low wall, her hand held computer in her hands. There were two men in the building that she could see, both were packing, but only one had his gun on show, probably to keep Ally on task and to stop her from trying anything, not that Ally would anyway, but they didn't know that. The one that didn't have his hands full with his gun went to pull open the door, greeting Ally with a nod and a Russian accent. "In." He pointed into the building, waiting for her to enter before closing the door behind her.
"So," the Russian man addressed her, "you are woman who's been looking for black hole information, correct?" His English was decent but not perfect, it was good enough for Ally to understand anyway. The armed man behind him shifted his weight from one foot to another, his finger resting on the trigger, even though the barrel of the gun was directed at the floor.

The door creaked open and two brutish men resembling bears greeted her. She swallowed down her fear and stood up as tall as her short frame would allow. It still wasn't much and she felt incredibly dwarfed by his size. "That's correct." she replied, straightening up. "I'm here for you." Her Australian accent thickened up at her nervous words, but she tried to control it as much as she could.
She followed the two of them inside, shoving her hands into her back pockets as they let her through. Her grey eyes darted around the room, trying to make out the details in the shadows. Her uncertain feelings were coming back. She wasn't quite up to speaking out. It was more of a 'don't speak unless spoken to' sort of thing. Davis was waiting, somewhere, she could sense it. She couldn't hide from him this time.

"Here for me?" the Russian man actually let out a chuckle, "no, no, you either here for information or not at all. I have no interest in you other than what you have to offer me in return." Anna frowned as she listened, she hadn't given Ally anything to bargain with, and she couldn't tell her what to do or say, setting her up with a wire would have been too risky, even with today's technology. There could have been any number of things hidden in the room that would detect bugs.
Anna tapped her foot impatiently. If it were her down there, she'd stand her ground, say that she hadn't come to bargain, she just wanted the information, like she'd originally said. She just hoped Ally could do the same, and somehow lure Davis out of the darkness.

"I'm here for information." Ally corrected herself, mentally kicking her brain for translating her thoughts wrong. His next phrase startled her am little. What did she have in return? She wasn't asked to bring or bargain anything. Her her began to pound nervously in her chest and she bit her lip out of nervous habit. Crap. She wished she could buzz Anna in her panic, but knew she was listening in to all of this from her bugged necklace. But listening and communicating were two different things. She might as well have been all alone in the situation.
b]"What do you want in return?"[/b] she asked bravely. "I came for information from you, what is it you want from me?" It was probably the stupidest thing she could've said, but she was beginning to freak out and the words tumbled. There had to be some loop hole, some possible escape to all this madness.

Anna couldn't stop herself from sucking in a breath, but she refrained from saying 'no!' out loud. That was about the worst thing that Ally could have done, because now they could ask for anything and they had nothing to give them. She desperately wanted to run in there, grab Ally and just cut their losses and run. No matter what Ally said now, she would spiral into a pit of trouble. Anna felt the churning in her stomach worsen, she had said to Ben that she thought something bad would happen.
"You joke," the man said, "you suppose to offer me something, not you ask me." He sounded slightly amused but mostly irritated, he could tell that Ally had no idea what she was going. "You know what, maybe I not give you information," he said, "you no criminal, you not worth my time." He gestured to the man with the gun to finish Ally off. Anna immediately sprung up onto her feet, but then she heard a voice. "Wait," said an American male. Quickly looking back at the screen, she saw Davis step out of the shadows, "I want her alive."

There were reasons Ally was not tactical and this was one of them. She panicked, but internally. Why had she even said yes to this? It wasn't going as planed, in fact it was going much...much worse. This should have been Anna's job, but her own stupid, foolish pride lied and said she could handle this, when obviously she couldn't. The Russian must have sensed her fear, because another fellow clicked his gun and readied it to end her life. If he had actually fired, Ally had her own tactical, surprisingly, of surviving, but now...it seemed like she wouldn't need it.
Davis. Ally's breath faltered a little, as the fear crept back up inside. This would not be good. Maybe Anna would jump in and help..maybe..please.He stated that he wanted her alive, probably just to torture her no doubt. There had to be some reason he loathed her so much, but she could never understand his reasoning behind it. She had never directly encountered him before the raid, or ever caused trouble upon him, so why was he so bent on destroying her life? Unless...her brother had something to do with it. "Davis." she said between clenched teeth. What the hell was he after anyway?

This was what they had wanted, for Davis to step forward, but instead of feeling relieved that they were finally getting what they had wanted in the first place, the pit in Anna's stomach deepened. They couldn't continue with this, she didn't like the tone of his voice or they way he had said that he wanted her alive. They were going to take her, and if Anna didn't do something now, Ally would be gone. She took off at a sprint.
"Porter," Davis said curtly, nodding to the guard that had moved behind Ally. The guard hit Ally with the butt of his gun.
Anna burst through the door, gun at the ready, but much to her dismay, the warehouse was empty; the three men and Ally were gone. She cursed loudly, kicking a stray stone hard, it richoted off the wall with a loud clang. She'd screwed up bad, and now her best friend was gone.
