History:
John, or Ethan as he was named at birth, was born to his single mother, Julie-Ann, who lived in the Old City district of New York and already had an unruly five year old. John's father left a couple of months before his birth, leaving Julie-Ann completely high and dry, with an apartment to pay for, and two children to look after. She had a full time job and a part time job which kept her out of the house nearly all day and night, which meant that John either spent time being watched by his brother, or fending for himself. Robert, or Bobby, seemed like a doting brother at first, usually taking the time to play with John, but as he got older, he became more and more disinterested, and started hanging out with a bad crowd that smoked, drank, and took all sorts of substances.
With no real role-model, John started his life in crime at the age of ten. He and his friends used to filch things from the stores around the block, and he soon found that he was the best at it. He was also very clever, and even though he detested a lot of his lessons, he found history fascinating, and liked his art lessons as well. Not long after he graduated from High School, he found out that his Mother was ill and needed care - and because she needed care, they needed money. Bobby was nowhere to be seen, and it was hard for John to get a job because of his juvenile record, so he did what he did best, he changed his name and started on bigger and better thieving jobs, forgeries, and cons. It was exciting, he got to travel all over the world, and it paid for his mother's health care.
When he was 22, he met a fabulous woman and thief called Terry Hauser, and they became partners, splitting their profits evenly down the middle. The police and security agencies did their best to track them down, but to no avail. Over their two years together, they fell in love with one another - John was convinced that he loved her more than was humanly possible. Unfortunately, one of their jobs didn't go to plan. A nervous security guard caught them in the act, and shot Terry. She died in John's arms. John was sentenced to four years in prison, and he served his full time, all the while remembering what had happened that night. He would never be caught like that again, and in order to assure that, he had to retire.
A couple of months after he left prison and had got himself re-establised with an apartment etc. he was approached by a UGAP representative who asked him if he would liaise with the government in order to catch criminals like he was previously. He mulled it over for a while, and eventually agreed.
Random Facts: ~ Is fluent in French and Italian, and can speak conversationally in many other languages. ~ Once borrowed the Mona Lisa from the Louvre, only to hand it back in to claim the reward. ~ Was known to the police and security agencies as The Ghost.
RP Sample: See Anna/Luke/Will.
Rules: Ha! What are these things you call rules?
