The corners on Ally's mouth, turned up into a soft smile as he spoke. He was thoroughly relaxing, it was quite visible on his face. He was questioning and answering himself, and once he gave her a chance she would shed her opinion as well. "Favorite food, Really don't have a preference. I don't like much spicy food though, My stomach can't handle it. She took a break and dove into the next question. "I like rock, heavy, but instrumental stuff as well. I think it;s great that you like to read. like smart men, and I lok forward to our home being littered with books. She bit her lip, pulling out slowly into another grin as she leaned in to kiss him. Our. That word made her heart soar.
"I'm so sorry Charlie ruined everything. He's ...always been a bit of an asshole." Ally gave a deep, heavy sigh, trying to think of what to say, but in truth, she really didn't want to speak of him anymore. Not for a while at least. "What about you, your family. What...what are they ;ike?" She adjusted herself a little, still massaging his neck the best way she could.

Luke traced circles on Ally's upper arm as she massaged his neck, smiling as she spoke. "Another advantage to having books all around the place," he said, "is that if the kids ever need to build a fort, then we've got the building materials covered." He hadn't exactly meant to say that out loud. The dream that they'd shared... the subject of kids had been a little touchy. For one thing, it was a long way off in their futures, but also, because of the child they could potentially lose. Not even seeing little Grace could make up entirely for that hurt.
"Don't worry about it," he told her, rubbing her arm. He'd want to know eventually how they had ended up that way, but he wasn't going to force it. Maybe if he talked about his sisters... then she asked straight out about his family. "Well," he said, shifting a little were he lay, "my Dad used to be in the Navy, so you can imagine way back when that he was stern and authoratative. But he's softened over the years, and is very doting of my Mom and my sisters, his women. My Mom is possibly the friendlist person you will ever meet. She was a University lecturer for many years, up until she fell ill with, uh, breast cancer. It was a shock to everyone, and it really made them think about all sorts of stuff. My Dad was already retired, but my Mum decided to as well. They both agreed that it was time." He paused, "she's okay now, by the way. They operated and managed to remove it."
"My sisters are complete polar opposites," he said with a slight chuckle, getting back to happier topics, "Jen is your typical glamour queen. She comes across as unforgiving and sarcastic, the queen bee at school. But sit her down in her pyjamas in front of a chick flick and she'll cry like a baby." He smiled, "Georgie is a tomboy; a ball of energy and fun in combat boots. She giggles all the time and is forever diving on my back, making me run circles around the house and/or garden." Maybe she'd grow out of it some day, but for now, he loved it. He loved them both really, in their own ways. "Scared off yet?"

Ally smiled at his touch, enjoying the physical action between them. "And maybe the couch will have big cushions as well." she chuckled, remembering her childhood days. They hadn't talked of kinds since the dream, but considering the fact that they had no real reason not to right now, it didn't hurt her as much. They weren't married, they weren't engaged, just dating, if that was even the right word. Every time she even thought of it, Grace came to mind, and she couldn't help but smile and their future miracle.
She adjusted a little as he began talking about his father, and the his mother. She was sad his family had to go through such a painful ordeal. One of her aunts had died from the cancer and knew it was emotionally heavy. "I'm glad she's better." Ally half smiled. It was all she could really say anyway. They had probably put it all behind them and would rather not bring up a painful past.
Her eyes lit up when he spoke of his sisters. Ally had never had a girlfriend to go to, someone to share secrets and giggle with until Anna came into her life. She was eager to hear all about them. Jen seemed like the type of girl Ally avoided in high-school, but then again, this wasn't school anymore. She would have to work hard at getting on Jen's level, unless they just took to each other. Georgie however, already seemed like a little sister would be like. She already sounded like a younger version of herself. All that mattered really, was that she loved Luke, and in loving him, she would learn to love his sisters as well. She only hoped they would see it the same way. "Your family sounds absolutely wonderful. I' far from scared, in fact I can't wait to meet them..I...if I get to." She didn't want to impose. This was all very new to her. She had never met a guy's family, or had ever been this serious. She wanted to meet them, really, she did. She couldn't hide the gleam in her eyes.

"Ha, yeah, cushions," he said, "that would make more sense." Books, cushions, it didn't matter. What mattered was that someday he could be building forts with his children in the lounge, play fighting, making up stories of their own. Like he'd thought before, he wasn't ready quite yet, but having been around young children all his life with his family, he was certainly prepared. Just mentioning it had made Ally's eyes light up, and he knew now that the idea of their daughter, her 'mini me', filled her with joy. They would get there someday, in their own time.
"Yeah, me too," Luke agreed, beginning to trace the circles on her arm again. His Dad coming out the garden and telling him that his Mom had been diagnosed with cancer was the biggest shock of his life. But they were past it now, and hopefully she would stay in remission. He didn't know what they'd do if it came back. Luke squeezed her shoulder when she mentioned that she would like to meet them. "I'm sure you will," he said, "believe me, as soon as they find out about you, they'll demand to meet you. They'd probably even raid the ship if they could." He didn't know whether he should have told Ally that he hadn't told them yet. He hadn't really had any contact with them while being on board the Venia, he'd have to message home, see how everyone was doing.
"You may not be scared now," he smirked, "but wait until you walk through that front door. When Georgie's bowled you over, my Mom is crushing your ribs, and my Dad and Jen are both standing in the hallway staring, you'll think back to this moment and realise what a fool you were for saying that," he teased her, tickling her arm a little. "But don't worry," he added, "their golden boy will protect you." He kissed her gently on the forehead, smiling.

Ally gave a soft smile at the mention of his mother. From the look on his face, she could tell he was close to his mother. It was probably where he got his incredibly kind heart. All the more reason she wanted to meet this wonderful woman. As he continued about his family, she was still utterly amused. Ally chuckled at his comment. "We shall see Luke Martin, we shall see." She grinned and leaned in to nuzzle his nose lightly. "And yes, I Really, really do want to meet them."
He continued through the specifics, and then she dared for more questions. "Jen, your dad? I'm not gonna get judged am I?" she teased, half serious in her question. Would she honestly be put in that position? If she was the first girl he had ever brought home, and a bad one at that, how would they react?. Luke seemed to come from a clean cut, strong family, and here she was in her black, tattoos and multiple ear piercing. She had a good heart though, and she cleaned up nice. Hopefully, she would make a good impression. And now, that's all she wanted.

Luke grinned at her when she said that she really wanted to meet them. He was glad, definitely, because he would like her to meet them at some point. He had never actually taken a girl home before, mostly because he'd never been this serious about a girl before. His Mom and Georgie would get so over excited finding out about it. In fact, Luke had mulled over the idea of inviting Ally home for Christmas, but he wanted to talk to his family first, he wasn't just going to spring her on them - mostly just to minimise the amount of excited screaming Ally would have to endure.
Running a hand over her hair, he reached back and tugged her ear softly and affectionately. "No, no, not judged," he said, "my Dad will be the perfect gentleman, I promise," he said, "Jen on the other hand..." he sighed, "she's the oldest girl, so she still sort of feels like she's the 'oldest' in some way. She's protective, but don't worry, she'll come round. She won't be able to fight off my puppy dog eyes and pouting," he smiled at her again, chuckling a little. "They'll love you." If they loved him at all, then they would.

Ally rested her forehead against his as he ran his hand down her hair, then to her ear. She liked, it, a lot, probably more so than he realized. It was sweet and sexy and she had to fight back the willpower to take him here and now. To settle the fire, she simple reached over and kissed his lips slowly, pulling back to let him continue about his family.
"I promise to take good care of her brother." she chuckled, resting her hand on his chest as the room between them lessened. "I think your puppy dog eyes and pouting is a weakness on all women. I mean, just look at that face. " She patted his cheeks in a teasing manner and grinned adorably. "If i didn't pick you up when I did, some other girl would've fallen hard for you. Guess they lucked out." They were supposed to be talking, but her stupid hormones anted more from the moment and she had to fight them off. Edging back a little, she removed her hands and lay flat on her back for self control. She heaved a small sigh, staring up at the sky, watching the stars flutter in the darkness. What would they talk about next?

Surprisingly, Luke's mind wasn't even going where Ally's was. For once, it was nice just laying here with her, like when they used to get together on the flightdeck and watched the stars. He was so peaceful. Touching his lips with hers, he kissed her back, opening his eyes as she pulled away. He couldn't help but chuckle at what she said, "what can I say? I was blessed,"" he said, "apparently inheriting some of your Mom's features isn't such a bad thing," he tickled her lightly as he joked.
"That's probably true," he smirked, watching as she pulled away. He almost said, where are you going? but he let her be. It wasn't that cold out, but it would get chillier as the evening went on. He let his head fall to the side and he looked at her. He wanted to at least try and talk about her in some way, he felt like he was hogging the attention. "What are your parents like?" he asked, obviously the subject of her brother was off-limits, but there must have been something good between her and her parents at some point.

"Well you definitely have good genes." she chuckled as he pulled away. She adjusted herself on her back again, staring deep into the heavens. This felt so much like their first nights together. She always felt near him when she looked up at the stars. She heaved a small sigh, rising her chest far more than it needed to go. She turned over to him slowly, giving a faint smile at his question.
Her parents. What could she possibly say about them? Ally inhaled deeply, turning her attention back up at the stars. "My dad worked in business. He's a hard man, doesn't show his emotions very well. Charlie's a lot like him. We...we weren't ever close." she sighed and pretended to distract herself with her fingernails. "My mother is a gentle woman. Sometimes I feel like she's the only one in my family that ever loved me. She stood up for me, put Charlie in the corner. She made me feel like it wasn't my fault. My father is a hard man and often took Charlie's side. It sucks..but that's life. It's been so great here, on Venia. I've made real, true friends for once in my life. And...I finally found love. As much as i miss Earth, this is my family now, and when I'm with you, I'm home."

"Well you definitely have good genes." Luke grinned. "Right back at you, sweetheart." Even if her family had been a bit screwed up, no one could deny that she was beautiful. Stretching onto his back, he sighed slightly before she began talking. As soon as she did, he turned his attention back to her, listening intently to all that she said; finally, she was opening up. No matter what words came out of her mouth, it would help him to feel closer to her.
"Men," Luke shook his head slightly, letting out a soft chuckle. He wasn't laughing at her Dad, more just men in general. He knew he was one, but he could acknowledge what screw-ups they could be sometimes. "Your mother sounds nice," he said. At least she had someone to stick up for her at home. "Have you ever thought about going back and seeing her?" Now that her name had been cleared, it was probably safe to do so.
He smiled when she said that the Venia was her family now. He'd joked with Natalie on their first day that the ship's crew would become like that, one big family. It seemed like it was already happening. Tugging her closer again, he kissed her on the head before saying, "I'm happy to be your home."

Ally gave a forced, faint smile and chewed a little on her words. It was moments like this, that truly made her feel human, accepted and loved. If she hadn't joined the crew, who knows what sort of mess she would be in, on Earth, most likely prison for a crime she didn't and never would commit. Luke was good to her, they all were. There wasn't much to even go back to.
"Hey, not all men are like that. You're not, and you never will be. " She reached over, gently outlining his strong jaw lightly with her fingers. "You're perfect enough for me." It sounded a bit cheesy, but it was the truth. The reason she had fallen in love with him was because he was nothing like she had ever known before.
Se took a second to reply, wondering if she could ever face her mother again. "Well...considering I'm finally pardoned now, my slate is clean,I..I've thought about it. I mean, before, I couldn't even think of facing her. It would break her. She knew I wasn't responsible for half the crap at home because of Charlie, but this...this came up on my own. But...I mean, I'm free from it all now, so....I might. Eventually I guess. I miss her, a lot. A mean..last time I heard she divorced my dad, so thing might be different now."
She cuddled up into him as he wrapped a comforting arm around her. She felt so small, so innocent for once as he held her. Despite al that she was, even with her past he still loved and accepted her. She folded her arms and huddled in close to her. Something inside of her felt like breaking again. She hated crying, hated feeling so...so..incredibly small.

"I know, I know," he said, "I mentally disclude myself whenever I make those sorts of comments, because I'm just awesome. Full stop." He was joking around, obviously, he didn't have that high of an opinion of himself, but he had self-confidence, that was all he really needed. He smiled widely when she said he was perfect enough for her. "That's all I could ever ask for." Awww, how cute.
Luke nodded as she spoke. It all made sense. If her mother loved her enough to stand up to both men in the household for her daughter, then chances were she'd be forgiving. "Well, when the time comes," he said, "if you want someone with you, as back-up, or whatever, then you can count me in." He'd be there for her, whatever she needed. Even if he didn't actually meet her Mom, just coming along might help her feel safer.
He saw her eyes shine, so shifted onto his side a little, wrapping both of his arms around her, resting his head against the top of hers - her soft hair tickled his nose. "I love you," he said, holding her tightly, "and always will. Wherever, whenever, you can count on me, no matter what happens. Okay?"

Ally gave short chuckled laughed and nuzzled him. Luke, always the jokester. He always managed to brighten her day and lifted her spirits.'You are awesome, Mr. Martin." she echoed back with a soft smile. She would have joked back, but her heart wasn't as light as his at the moment. He was perfect, he was the yin to her yang, the complete perfect opposite that made her whole. "And you do a damn good job."
When Luke said he would always be there, she sort of expected it, but loved hearing it regardless from his sweet lips. "I will most certainly take you with me when I do. I think you'd like her, but...no...you don't want to meet my dad. " she smirked. "He's just as much of an ass as my brother, but mum is a total sweetheart." All she needed was him alongside her, just along the way to help her. 'Thanks. Mean's a lot." she whispered close as she snuggled in under his calm embrace.
Ally closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, resting her head next to his heart. " love you too." she whispered into his shirt, closing her eyes tight. A small bit of moisture welled up inside her grey eyes, but she didn't release them into tears. Not yet anyway. She knew he would always be there for her and she would always be there for him to the best of her abilities forever.

"I try," he smiled, looking innocent and pretending to be modest. Well, he wasn't exactly arrogant or cocky, but he knew he was a good guy. It was had to ignore that fact with people had been telling him that he was for years now. All a credit to his Mom. He smiled when she said she would take him with her - he was glad to be of help. He loved her, so naturally he wanted to protect her and make sure she was okay. "You're welcome." Of course, he wanted to meet her Mom, but metting her Dad might not be the best idea, he'd probably end up socking him in the face like he'd done with Charlie, the asshole.
Reaching down with one of his hands, he brushed her cheek lightly with his thumb, happy to have her there in his arms. Then he remembered something he'd been meaning to ask for a while. "Who is the locket from?" The one that she wore around her neck 24/7. He'd noticed it on many an occasion, but had forgotten to ask about it.

Ally half smiled resting her forehead against his gently. "Thank you." she whispered softly , before giving him his breathing room again. She inhaled deeply and closed her eyes for a moment, taking in the cool night air. The weather was beautiful and she had almost forgotten what seasons felt like. She would definitely bring him to meet her mother when she got the chance, her father and brother were hardly family anymore and she didn't want to burden Luke with it anyway.
Ally smiled softly when he brushed her cheek. He was so gentle with her, in fact he was probably the nicest man she had ever known. Men didnt usually show this side, even with women, and here he was, unafraid to show his emotions for her and making her feel like the most important human being in existence. He mentioned her locket and she pulled it up from her shirt and popped it open. "My grandmother...well..we were really close. My grandfather usually took Charlie out fishing or something, so I had her to myself. We'd sit and watch old movies and share stories. When I went off to college she passed away from brian cancer, and left me the locket. She said it had been in our family for generations, didn't say how many, and that her grandmother had given it to her." Ally sniffled a little, trying not to get emotional. "So..I..I wear it..everyday, because she was my most favorite person in the entire universe, but you come a close second."
