When Will had heard that Leo Matthews was going to be coming aboard, he couldn't have been more pleased. Leo was a great guy, they had been in University at the same time, Will studying Engineering and Leo studying for his PHD in Computer Forensics. They'd spent many a night in bars together, laughing with the other guys, drinking, and flirting with the college girls. Partners in crime.
It had stretched beyond Uni though, Will could recall at least a couple of conventions where they'd both been up on stage together, either Will assisting with Leo's presentation, or Leo with Will's. They hadn't talked in way over a year, but Will had no doubt their friendship was in tact. Leo was coming aboard as a Computer Technician which would take one side of things off Will and the other engineer's hands.
Will was waiting in the hangar bay for his friend, looking at his watch - late and in style, as per usual.

Leo strolled into the hanger bay in his own confident manner only to find his old friend, Will, waiting for him. He knew that this would be the case; he had read up about everything to do with this ship and the crew on the way there.
Keeping an eye on and looking after the crew of the Venia wasn't going to be an easy task but how exactly was he supposed to turn a mission down?
He reached Will and grinned at him. "Hey buddy", is all he said before grabbing his friend and pulling him into a hug.

A wide smile spread across Will's face as he saw Leo approaching. The man had barely changed, except for a change in hair style - is was now long and slicked back as opposed to sticking up in the air. Will hugged his friend back, giving him a friendly pat on the back, "hey yourself."
"You haven't changed a bit," Will said, pulling back to look at Leo properly, "I guess you'll be stealing the 'most handsome guy on the ship' title from me now." He smirked.
"How have you been?"

"Of course, I'm the most handsome guy in the universe", Leo said with a wink, "I've been good, how about yourself? I can't remember when I last saw you. You still have the goofy grin I see", he said smirking.
Leo always liked teasing people but especially Will, it always gave him a sense of accomplishment.

"Yuh-huh, you go ahead and keep thinking that, friend," Will shook his head, Leo always had an abundance of over-confidence, "good, brilliant, in fact. Apart from a song and dance routine the other day which someone will no doubt show you," he shook his head, "don't ask."
"Goofy grin with good reason," he said, grinning again, "come on, let's get rid of your stuff and have a proper chat."

"I think I will go ahead an keep thinking that," Leo beamed at Will, " and the only way you will get me to get rid of my stuff is if you give me an incredibly detailed story of this song and dance," he said nudging Will.
"I have missed that goofy grin of yours," he replied with his own goofy grin and then pointed forwards, "lead the way."

Will raised a brow at Leo, shaking his head slightly, ”you’re going to have to try harder to get me to spill,” he said, ”or go find the graphical evidence for yourself. I’m fairly sure someone will be willing to show you with little encouragement.”
”Sure you did,” Will smirked, leading off towards the sleeping quarters. ”So, I think it’s only fair to warn you that there’s another computer specialist on board, Hollie Sampson, you’ll be sharing an office with her. But I don’t think that’ll be a problem, especially when you see her.”

"Don't give me that sarcastic tone, of course I did," Leo said smirking. "As long as she is small I'm sure it will be fine," he said with a smile, "and she might be able to show me this "graphical evidence"," the words "graphical evidence" were accompanied by him miming quotation marks in the air.

"Who said I was being sarcastic?" Will said, "other than you. And yes, I'm sure you'll both fit with room to spare." Hollie was practically a stick, Leo would have no problems there. "Oh, not might, definitely. She's possibly more of a whiz at the computer than you, and you've got six years on her."

Leo laughed out loud, "you're kidding me, right? No one is better than me when it comes to computers." And just because I'm old doesn't mean I'm not with the times," he said giving Will a shove.
"Oh, and that smirk gave you away, sarcastic smirks are your forte."

"I think she can give you a run for your money and then some," Will said, shoving his friend back, "face it, you're just old. Already losing them brain cells," he tapped his own head, smirking at him.
"Well, that's true," he chuckled. It was strange having someone on board who knew him so well. Natalie was the only one who came close to knowing him, and then, she knew stuff now that even Leo didn't know. Weird.
They reached the sleeping quarters and Will pointed Leo in the direction of his new home for the foreseeable. "Home sweet home."

"Those harsh words hurt me deeply," Leo said sarcastically while pouting at Will, "I have plenty of brain cells to contend with anyone that comes my way," he said this with a feigned shifty look.
Leo took a look at his new home, "fancy digs," he said with a chuckle before stepping inside.

"Sure you do, mate," Will chuckled, "tell you what, wait until you meet her, then decide whether she's better than you. If you think your ego can take it.
"They're all right," he nodded. Truth be told, he hardly spent any time in his. "Good for sleeping in, among other things. But you'll probably be spending most of your time in your office, which I can show you now."

“Yeah, okay,” Leo said only half listening to Will, he was paying more attention to the room that would be his home, and looking for areas he could easily hide secret information.
“Let’s take a look at this office and then you can introduce me to the famous Hollie,” he said with smirk and then left the room.”

Will noticed Leo seemed more distracted than usual, but shrugged it off. He hadn't seen the man in a while, maybe he just had stuff on his mind. "Follow me," he gestured for Leo to come with him.
They entered engineering, and Will came to a halt, pointing towards Leo's office. "A there you go," he said, "that's your office, mine is just down the hall. Let me know if Hollie hurts your pride too much or something," he smirked, "I'll come commend her."
