Hollie did love a good party. Being blind had no bearing on how much fun she could have at one, it was all about the company, and the mischief they got up. With Ollie coming, mischief would no doubt be afoot. Especially if the giggling coming from his office the other day had any indication.
The big thing, after roping Alex and Sam in to prepare the food and drink, had been deciding on a Halloween outfit. Of course she was going to dress up, she could look as ridiculous as she wanted and it didn't matter, because she couldn't see it. After mooching around on the local server, she eventually found something that worked with what she had in her closet.
She was seated on the counter between the kitchen area and the mess hall, pursing her lips, waiting for people to arrive. It was too quiet. Slipping off the counter onto her feet, she felt her way over to the wall, then to the main control panel, fiddling with the buttons till the music started playing. Better. Now to wait for everyone to arrive.

Max got dressed up in his costume for the Halloween party in the mess hall. His costume consisted of a grey t-shirt with a shark on it over a white long sleeved undershirt, blue jeans, and a long haired wig, all of which were filthy looking. To complete his look he refrained from shaving for a few days and worked up a sweat in the gym to look greasy enough for the part. Looking at himself in his mirror he laughed, “Wow I look like crap.” He shook his head and headed out to the mess hall.
Max stopped at the door and checked his watch. Noting he was probably early, he stepped inside to hear music playing. “Louder than I thought especially since no one’s here yet,” he said to himself as he looked around to see that only one person was here and it looked like the girl that set it up. “Hey, I’m Max Winsor,” he introduced as he walked up to her out stretching his hand, not knowing Hollie was blind, “I just recently transferred here and thought this would be an excellent time to meet some of the people on board.”

Hollie heard the door open over the sound of the music, and hit the volume button, turning it down a bit. She figured conversation would probably be afoot, so it was best that they could actually hear each other. He heard him approach, and he said his greeting but then there was a pause. He was holding out his hand, wasn't he? Hollie sighed internally, before giving him a smile, wafting her hand through the air for a moment before locating the outstretched hand. She gave it a shake, "Hollie Sampson. And yes, you're definitely in the right place for meeting people. Even if they probably won't recognise you tomorrow." She smiled.
"Well, you can stand here and talk to me, or there's foot over on the counter, and I can crank the music back up again, whatever you want. More people will be arriving soon, I'm sure." Otherwise this was going to be an interesting party.

Hair was not Ally's friend, especially since she had so damn much of it. Thick, long dark, irritating, stubborn curls. After 30 minutes fighting with it, she managed to pull it up into an intricate ponytail of sorts. Why couldn't she just have picked something easier, like a vampire? No...Claire was doing that. She slid her shoulders into her dress, fixed herself accordingly, and took a deep breath, and a quick look into the mirror before gliding out her door. These shoes definitely gave her the lift. She was what, 5'7 now? That helped. Ally found her way to the mess hall, eyes wide with excitement. Damn the place looked amazing. She located and smiled at her accomplishments. "Hey, Hollie, it's me Ally. We uh..we had the mission thing together." They hadn't spoken really since, and she wasn't sure if she remembered her. "The place looks great. You did an epic job of throwing this all together mate. Oh and your costume is great!' She didn't feel like patronizing Hollie wuld be smart or respectful. She was still human, blind or not, and tried her hardest at being real back.Who was she to judge? Her own life had been mucked up just as bad if not worse. There was another new face, and she presented her hand. "Alliana, or Ally Porter. Nice to meet you." she beamed, Australian accent in full swing. Adjusting her accent to British, she continued. And what, pray good sir are you on this All Hallow's eve?"

What was I thinking? Natalie thought, eying herself in the mirror uncertainly. Generally a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl, seeing this much of her own skin was off-setting. But she'd agreed to go in a costume to coincide with what Will was wearing, and so with a sigh she offered her reflection a weary smile before turning and leaving her room.
Thankfully the way to the mess hall was largely deserted, sparing her the scrutiny of too many eyes. All the same, she kept her arms crossed self-consciously across her bare waist until she reached her destination, and even then she wasn't exactly comfortable. Only a few people had arrived already--Alliana, looking drop-dead-gorgeous as always in a regal white gown, a man she wasn't familiar with dressed like some sort of crack-head, and Hollie, pretty 'n pink.
Smiling slightly, Natalie went over to claim the seat next to the other blonde at the table. "Hey Hollie," she said brightly, touching the girl's arm once to let her know where she was--not that she hadn't guessed by the origin of her voice, but she wanted to be considerate all the same. "Love the costume. Though I think wearing a halo would have been more appropriate. You're an angel setting all this up--the crew really needs to let their hair down for once."

With a grin, Katy affixed her last bracelet, and got up to look at herself in the mirror. She had to stare for a moment-- she couldn't remember the last time she'd seen herself in a skirt. Probably back in a drama production. Still, it was Halloween, and the crew definitely needed a reason to dress up and relax. Everyone seemed so uptight lately, with all the stuff going on. With a sigh and a grin at her reflection, she put on her happy face and skipped out the door. Luckily, there were already a few people milling around when she got there. There was Hollie, in the brightest shade of pink she had ever seen, Alliana in a very pretty dress, Nate in a just-as-pretty dress, and some guy who looked like he was going to fall over. Oh well. She skipped over to the counter. "Hello!" she grinned cheerily, sitting up on the bar. "Don't we all look dolled-up today? So, first things first-- what is everyone's costume?" She glanced around. Might as well get everyone chatting together, see if they couldn't have a good time.

Will pretty much burst out laughing when he saw himself in the mirror. Wow, I really went all out, didn't I? The main reason he'd laughed was because he was surprised that it actually worked. He didn't usually have his arms on display like this, because the scars on his back crept up onto his shoulders, but for the Prince of Persia, it was entirely feasible that they were there. And besides, he wouldn't be surprised if the story about his Dad had spread across the whole ship by now.
Anyway! Sheathing his sword, and sticking something else in his waistband for later, he made his way to the Mess Hall, garnering several strange looks and a high-five on the way - good to know that someone still played the ancient game. What version were they on now? 32? A franchise shouldn't last this long, it was ridiculous. He was eager to see what Natalie's costume looked like; they'd agreed what they were going as, but he hadn't seen what dress she'd been able to procure.
Walking through the door, he looked to see who had already arrived, his eyes drifting from Hollie in her spectacular sheer pink, across Katy, Max, Ally (who looked gorgeous), finally to Natalie. A grin spilt onto his face, and he whistled, smirking hard. "Hello ladies," he was in a chipper mood. Who didn't love a good party? "And Max as well, of course. Who's looking just as fabulous." Wandering over to the table, he propped himself up against the table next to Natalie, beaming. "You look beautiful."

Sure enough, the door opened and closed several more times, people introducing themselves as they entered so she'd know who they were. The women on this ship were brilliant. "Hey Ally," Hollie said with a smile, "I remember, don't worry. And thanks," her smile spread into a grin. Of course, she'd had no idea how it looked until people started complimenting the room, although, Sam had hung around to make sure she was putting things in the right place, and hanging things from the ceiling, he was a tall one.
Hollie snorted at what Natalie said, appreciating the touch on the arm. "I'm pretty sure the Captain won't see it that way when we're done." Really, she was the only person who stood a chance in asking him for the party and getting it. The words 'good, clean fun' had come out of his mouth. Well, she'd set things up like that, what people actually did was their own responsibility. "He'd be more inclined towards devil horns."
"Nice entrance there," she smirked as Will joined them at the table, she didn't have to see it, he'd been so loud, "try not to scare the guests off, would you?" Calling Max fabulous, I don't know.
Katy asked them all who they were, so Hollie piped up first, "I'm possibly the oldest blonde bimbo in existence; Barbie."

Bow ties, they were the bane of most men's existence. After fumbling and dropping the knot for the twelfth time so far, he let out a loud moan. "Stupid bloody tie!" he cursed, glaring at himself in the mirror for a moment. This was ridiculous, and this was also why he usually only wore ties of the normal variety, they were much less troublesome.
He heard a knock at his door, and curiously went to investigate. It was Anna, dressed in leather pants and a tank top, she'd heard him scream from across the hall. Oops. After rolling her eyes at him, she solved his problem for him in mere moments, and patted him on the shoulder with a compliment before going to finish changing into her costume. "You're my saviour!" he called after her.
Finally, Luke was ready.
He jogged to the mess hall, knowing he wasn't particularly late, but Ally would probably already be there by now, waiting. He skidded in through the door, sliding to a halt - that probably caught everyone's attention. "The name is Martin, Luke Martin," he announced with a serious face and a raised eyebrow. He couldn't resist.

Ally gave a soft smile at Hollie, reaching over to squeeze her shoulder lightly. Hollie was a total sweetheart. In fact, she was probably nominated for the Good Citizen of The Universe Award or something. Actually, she would probably run a close tie. She felt so blessed to know such great people, and speaking of...She turned around to see Natalie's shining smile. Her grey eyes widened a little at the revealing costume. It was definitely something she wasn't expecting.
"Hey Nat, the costume...wow...it looks amazing." She grinned, shifting her hands awkwardly around her waist. There weren't any damn pockets in this dress. In fact, she had to admit it fit her a little too tight and...her chest was a different story entirely. Uncomfortable, awkward and...well yeah. It would defiantly give Luke something to look at. Katy walked up, presumably a hippie. It seemed to fit her bubbly self. Ally replied to her question with a warm smile. "I'm a princess, like..king arthur and all that jazz." she chuckled. She heaved a small sigh, and her smile faded a little.
She shook her head a little, and glanced around at the other guests as they were arriving. With a soft pat to the arm she left Natalie to go find a drink. It was early, yes but she felt intimidated, if not tense already. She desperately needed a drink. something with high alcoholic content. Grabbing a plastic wine shoot, she fed it under the champagne fountain and rested her back against one of the tables. So much for being sociable. Her lungs inhaled, and exhaled slowly as she tilted the glass for another sip.
She about choked at a mysterious man in a suit glided in. It was Luke. Good god, she had never seen him so dashing. She smirked, almost dangerously, heavily seductive, and set her glass down where she could find it again. She floated in her heels straight to him and adjusted his bow-tie. 'Porter...Alliana..Porter." she whispered and met his lips slowly. "I've been waiting."

Luke did a very un-James Bond like thing (and an un-Luke like thing), and let his jaw hit the floor. Well, hello there. Pushing his mouth closed with his finger, he couldn't help but admire how beautiful she looked in the dress. She looked so pale and perfect. Which was sort of a contrast to his dark suit and tanned skin. He managed to raise his eyebrow again as she approached seductively, tickling his lips with her name as she kissed him. Ohhhhh, he knew her name all right.
"I'm so very sorry to have kept you waiting, my lady," he said, placing a hand on her waist instead of unsettling her hair, "if I'd known what was to befall me as I entered, I would have come sooner." His face bore his wide and charming grin as he kissed her again, trying to keep any and all focus off her chest which was practically beckoning to him from instead that corset top. Taking his hand from her waist, he encompassed her hand with it instead, tugging her away from the door and over to the party of people in an array of costumes. "Well, don't we all look awesome."

At the beginning, Penn had been rather adverse to the idea of a Halloween party. Parties weren't exactly his thing-- he wasn't exactly the most sociable guy around. Eventually, he'd gotten his head around the idea, and decided it was probably best to go. He hadn't exactly gotten much time to meet people outside his department, and now would be a good time, if any, to meet them. Everyone would be looking goofy anyways, it wasn't like he could embarrass himself too bad.
Costume ideas had been the worst part. Dressing up? It had been easier when he'd had a fashionable sister in the house, always eager to whip him up a costume, but it seemed he was on his own now. He'd stared at his dresser for a while, until realizing a kilt was something not normally worn to the office, and would definitely qualify as a costume. It had been rather easy to scrap something up from what he could remember of old, traditional family photos, seeing as he had most of it lying around anyways. Still, he was not venturing out of the house with shorts on. Tugging some swim trunks on underneath, he finally made his way down.
As usual, his assumptions were correct. Costumes ranged from Victorian to modern to fictional to shockingly pink. Sliding past Luke at the door, who was having his tie adjusted by Ally, he barely recognized Katy in noisy bangles and flourishing skirts before she called 'Irish jig!' and grabbed his arm enthusiastically. With a sputter, he managed to spin in the right direction, and not trip over his own feet. They stopped soon enough, and with a laugh, he bowed, walking over to grab a drink. "Seems I've been the only one to dance," he commented. People seemed to be quietly chatting, for the most part, which was fine by him. That meant it wasn't outrageous.

"Devil horns?" Natalie repeated, amused. "I doubt the captain would go that far--unless you have plans to take this party farther than I thought. In which case, more power to you. If anyone could sucker the captain into letting this slide, it'd be you." It was then that Will entered the room.
Damn, Natalie thought with a slight smirk. He looked... "amazing" simply wasn't a strong enough word. The Dastan costume suited him surprisingly well, showing off his handsome figure. The whole "stick" joke rose to mind again, but they'd agreed to let that one lay. She snorted when he whistled, a smile curling her lips as he came over to sit next to her.
"None too shabby yourself," she laughed, leaning over to steal a quick kiss before he could complain. "I should have invested in a wig, though. I mean, Tamina's not exactly a blonde." With a laugh she added, "Though I make it work, don't I?
Ben had to admit, he was actually able to pull of the whole cowboy facade pretty well, even if it wasn't exactly something he'd consider for a day-to-day type thing. Holstering his fake gun--which felt pathetic and silly when compared to working with real guns for the past several years--he made his way across the hall to knock on Anna's door.
"Howdy, little lady," he said in his best Western drawl, breaking up into laughter afterward. "Well, that was absolutely awful. All the same, you ready to go or what?"

Will laughed when Hollie asked him not to scare the guests off, "all right, I'll keep my compliments to myself from now on," he smirked, "you look horrible by the way." She reached across and dug him in the arm, which made him chuckle harder, "I'll get you back later." "Sure, sure."
He heard Luke make his entrance, but his attention was now back on Natalie, who looked absolutely stunning. "Why thank you," he smirked, glancing down at the armor, before focusing on her again. "Are you kidding? Tamina has got nothing on you, sweetheart, she should have been blonde from the start." He followed her lips back to her seat, and kissed her again. Who cared, really? His dance routine in Engineering had circulated the ship by now, everyone knew.
Katy asked who they all were and Will pointed at himself, "Dastan, the Prince of Persia," he said, before gesturing to Natalie, "and the lovely Princess Tamina."
After helping Luke with his bow tie - it hadn't been hard to over hear his grunts and moans of frustration, considering she was only a couple of doors away - Anna had proceeded to sort out the rest of her costume. Glancing in the mirror, she realised she looked more like a female Indiana Jones than a space cowgirl, but oh well. Unzipping her leather jacket, she heard Ben's terrible accent at the door and snickered, an "oh dear" slipping from her lips.
Tugging the door open, she looked her resident cowboy up and down, grinning broadly. "Well, hi there handsome," she said, pulling off a more convincing accent before chortling, "don't you look just dandy."
She stood back for a moment, striking a pose, "what do you think?"

Ally gave a short chukle to his reaction. He was such a man. She hadn't expected this dress to be so...so..provocative. The corset top definitely wasn't fun, in fact that was the hardest part getting into, and it actually hurt. No doubt his eyes were right there though. Her chest was practically screaming at him. As he wrapped his arm around her, he kissed her again and she met it with a grin. Luke was such a lover. Ally took his hand as he extended it and walked with him back to the congregation of people.
Everyone looked so great in thier costumes, bustling and happy. Each couple couldn't keep their eyes off each other and paired off adorably. Penn looked ridiculously hilarious and she had to stifle a small laugh at his appearance. Her gaze went to Natalie and she smiled broadly. That girl was far too adorable for her own good. She was instantly with Will who looked rather dashing as....that Prince of Persia guy. "Wow...Nat you...wow. Your costume is amazing. " She wrapped an arm around Luke's back, running small circles with her fingertips as she spoke. "Everyone here does. Hollie and Sam did one hell of a job with all of this."
