T.E.M.P shook her head. She had to admit. Humans were strange creatures. They were very odd. Her current patient Felix DeNash, an engineer, had slipped on soap while in the shower. He'd broken his leg in several places and had some internal damage which required him to stay in a sickbay bed for a few days. He'd requested a bed near a console and so she complied. Though a hologram of higher intelligence than the average android, she followed Asimov's three laws of robotics. She did what she was told by human's.
She had taken a moment to prepare his cast when her processor sensed the activation of the console. When she turned around she saw an animation of a strange hooded man having a cream pie thrown at his face. The officer began to laugh hysterically. T.E.M.P stared at the screen; bewildered. Was this humour?
"Yah see that?!" the man jiggled about in his bed. "Yes." She answered bluntly. She had seen it. Though she had not reacted in the same way. She moved over to the man's leg and put the metallic clamp cast onto it. It sealed with a sonic lock. She couldn't help but look at the screen a few times while working. She had to admit, it was... interesting.

Mike had gotten up the same time he did everyday. Yawned and stretched the way he did everyday, hummed along to music by the Four Seasons, as he did every day, and walked into the bathroom.
But unlike every day when he would have begun his forty-minute cleansing process there was a long pause and he quickly walked back out of the bathroom, looked around wildly, and rushed to the intercom on the wall. He hesitated before he rushed back over to his night stand and grabbed up a couple of his sanitation wipes, went back and scrubbed down the intercom before swiping his finger over the panel.
He tried to keep his panicking voice calm as he spoke clearly into the system. "T.E.M.P I need clean up and analysis of a foreign substance in my cabin STAT."
After he ended the transmission he started to wipe vigorously at his hands, his expression worried.
Little did he know that the strange goo he'd found on his bathroom floor was nothing more than a spilled bottle of tea-leaf shampoo he'd forgotten he'd shoved under the counter after receiving it as a gift. He had his own kind of shampoos he used and never intended to use any other kind. But he didn't want to seem ungrateful.

She completed the seal on the cast and began adjusting the hold to the comfort of the patient. He winced a few times as it grew tighter but soon got over the small pain by laughing at the screen. T.E.M.P had thought of attempting a laugh but then decided against it.
"T.E.M.P I need clean up and analysis of a foreign substance in my cabin STAT."
T.E.M.P looked to the ceiling as the message came through. "Understood." she stated moving to clear space. "Avatar duplication in progress... complete." The hologram appeared at the Captain's side and cocked up her in his direction. "Location?" she enquired.

Mike jumped when the hologram appeared even though he probably shouldn’t have. He grunted a bit and tied his robe tighter around himself. Even though she wasn’t real, he still felt a little uncomfortable with the image of a woman in his private cabin.
”In the bathroom. Someone’s poured a chemical on my floor. It’s probably contaminating the air right now.” His voice cracked and he backed away towards the cabin door, certain that this was the doing of a terrorist.

T.E.M.P made no reaction as the man jumped and pulled his robe tighter. Was he embarassed? She had no sexual interest in human anatomy. Was it socially incorrect to show one's parts. She hadn't been built with any and so it was irrelevant to her but she had been programmed to be thorough in her check-ups. She was shy at all. She had to admit, he was a little jumpy for a professional captain.
”In the bathroom. Someone’s poured a chemical on my floor. It’s probably contaminating the air right now.”
T.E.M.P moved into the bathroom wall and sealed the door. She was in there for less than ten seconds before she shifted back through the solid wall to the man's front.
"Clean up complete... Analysis complete... Straight-chain alkyl benzene sulfonates, ammonium lauryl ether sulfate, glycol distearate... It is shampoo Captain. Tea leaf flavoured." Her face was completely serious. She didn't find the situation funny - though others in her place would. She merely did as she was told. "Slightly acidic. But that is normal. Safe on skin and scalp, but should not be ingested."
"Do you require any other assitance?"

Mike frowned at this and cleared his throat again. "Yes well. Have the reast of my Cabin cleaned and checked for any toxins and then I want a body scan as well..." Even though the computer said there was no threat he felt dirty all over. As if the scare itself was toxic to him.
He removed his robe, being in his pajamas now and hanging it up on a hook. "And i'd appreciate it if you kept this out of the log... wouldn't want the information to fall into the wrong hands."

"Yes well. Have the rest of my Cabin cleaned and checked for any toxins and then I want a body scan as well..."
"Of course Captain." She complied and scanned the whole room with her inbuilt sensors. "Computer, perform complete maintenance clean-up." The whole room fizzled as the hygiene sweep began. "Nothing harmful detected."
"And i'd appreciate it if you kept this out of the log... wouldn't want the information to fall into the wrong hands."
"The wrong hands? How would this information be used against you?... Logs deleted." she raised an eyebrow before completing the hygiene sweep. The man was very aggitated and rather afraid of his surroundings. His reaction was a little over the top.
She took a step forward, entering his personal space. "Captain, are you aware that you suffer from an acute hypocondria?"

"Unfortunatly humans error T.E.M.P but usually it's best if the captain of a ship like this keeps the amount of times he makes a mistake to a minimum. I wouldn't want people knowing that I made such a foolish mistake." He tried to explain in a way she would understand. He shifted a little uncomfortably. THe fact of the matter was he was imbarassed.
What she said then made him blink and he looked confused. "T.E.M.P I think you need to have your own status checked. I'm pretty sure I suffer from no such thing." He moved into the bathroom and then poked his head out again.
"If someone doesnt call you away i'd like you to hang around for a moment. Just in case..."

T.E.M.P cocked her head to the side. Curious. Would it really effect the crew's respect for the Captain for making a simple mistake? Well, for a human that was. Her arms remained at her sides just as usual.
"T.E.M.P I think you need to have your own status checked. I'm pretty sure I suffer from no such thing. If someone doesnt call you away i'd like you to hang around for a moment. Just in case..."
T.E.M.P raised her eyebrows and shook her head. "I assure you Captain, my analysis is sound. By checking the bathroom once more you are merely confirming this statement. But, to please you... Computer, program check on the Technological Emergency Medical Program." The avatar fizzled out for a moment as T.E.M.P disappeared from the room. A few seconds passed before she reappeared. "Complete. No malfunction found."
T.E.M.P refocused her gaze on the man before speaking once more. "I am obligated to inform the chief medical officer and the executive officer of this condition."

Mike merely chuckled. He hadn't thought there was anything wrong with her system. He just thought his own ideas of cleanliness were at a higher standard that most. But the shampoo had given him a scare and made his OCD a little on the edge. He was calming down now.
But then what TEMP said next made him turn suddenly, "That wont be necessary.: He said quickly, "They know I have a slight phobia."

"That wont be necessary"
"Oh?" she questioned. Her processes began to conflict. She had to follow orders but the UGAP Health Ministry clearly stated that suspected illness had to be reported to the senior medic onboard. And in the case of the Captain, it had to be reported to the second in command.
"They know I have a slight phobia."
"Slight... phobia..?" she spoke slowly and raised the other eyebrow. "I..." her inner conflict was most confusing. "It is in my programming to follow UGAP Health Ministry Regulations, Captain. Surely if they 'already know', it wont hurt to tell them again?" She smiled. The man made her smile.

"I see..." Mike said, thinking this over for a long moment. He was exactly worried about what would happen if they did tell them. Surely it wasn't such a big deal that he liked to have things clean. He studied her for a moment.
"Tell me T.E.M.P whats in your programming about following captains orders?"

"I see..."
He sees? What did he mean by this?
"Tell me T.E.M.P whats in your programming about following captains orders?"
T.E.M.P's eyebrows fell. As did her smile. "Holograms follow the same three rules as robots. We obey anyone's orders." she shook her head. "Why do you ask Captain? Do you wish me to conflict with my programming?" she folded her arms and frowned.

"Er. No. No not at all. I was just hoping that in this case you'd make an exception." He frowned, wringing his hands a little. "And wipe this past..." He glanced at the clock, "Half an hour from your memory. I think that would be best for everyone."
He didn't want to tread one any toes, especially the toes of an intelligent computer program, but then again he couldn't have his superiors thinking him incapable of being the commander of the Venia.
