Ollie chuckled. "As lovely as you are, not everyone agrees with my theory of your perpetual beauty." He squeezed her hand teasingly. "I'm sure your hairbrush misses you dearly." Bonking his head on hers affectionately, he reminded, "You don't really need to talk to me. Whatever you want to do, I have a feeling I won't be able to change your mind." Her stubbornness seemed to be a reoccurring trait.
"A lightsaber," he repeated, snorting. "Perhaps you better just drop me off in a large field, in the middle of nowhere. Come pick me up when all the safety procedures have been run." He followed safety procedures, sure, but sometimes he got a little ahead of himself, which wreaked havoc to his office. He was surprised he hadn't wrecked anything yet.
Hollie munched quietly on his shoulder, and after a minute, Ollie picked up the lightsaber. He needed something to do with his hands. Connecting wires with his fingers, he mused for a moment. This was actually pretty comfortable. He was an only child, and he wasn't really used to having people in his space, simply being in the same room as he was without doing something. Still, it felt natural with Hollie, like he could do this all day. Maybe even longer. Something sparked, and he snapped his hand back, nursing it as he peered in the casing to spot the problem. Seemed you needed to pay attention whilst working with plasmic technologies.

"Oh shucks," Hollie chuckled lightly, "guess that bursts my bubble." Joking was becoming easier and easier, thanks to Ollie's presence. He was such a light and happy person, even though he was worried, just him being there was making things seem brighter. "I'm sure it does, I'll be sure how much I missed it too in a moment or two." She nodded slightly with a smile when he mentioned he probably wouldn't be able to change her mind. "I don't know, you might... nah, actually, probably not." She tugged on his sleeve gently, nuzzling her head against his.
Hollie actually laughed, "sounds like a better plan to me," she said, "then at least the ship will be safe. And maybe you will be too," she said, teasing him a little. Of course he came first in her priorities, but she wasn't going to stop winding him up, not even now.
Despite what had happened, Hollie wasn't going to let R4 ruin her spirit, or drive a rift between her and Ollie. Day by day, Ollie became a more permanent fixture in her life, and like she'd realised, she had actually fallen in love with him. It created a wonderful sense of warmth, feeling love for someone.
She started a little when he jumped, hearing the sound of the spark. "Oooch," she said, for him, not because he'd hurt her in any way, "are you okay?" Tenderly, she located his hand and took it in hers, soothing it gently. Her touch was delicate when she wanted it to be, she wasn't all about tormenting people, shoving their heads down toilets.

Ollie snickered. "Perhaps we can go find some more soap somewhere," he suggested. "Maybe even in the Bag of Random Useless Stuff." He dug through curiously. "Nope. Sorry. You can take another look, it might be cowering in a corner somewhere." He plopped it onto her lap with a thud.
"Ooh, maybe we'll need a dramatic musical number to go along," he chuckled. "And I don't think a full-grown bull during Pamplona could change your opinion, much less little old me." He huffed her hair gently. "Just don't wear any red before-hand. I'd be emotionally traumatized if I had to peel you off a Spanish street somewhere." He shoved the mental image as hard as possible. Losing Hollie was definitely not something he wanted to imagine.
He snickered, wrapping his arm around her waist. "4o-60 chance," he guessed. "I've blown off my eyebrows playing around in a kitchen before. You don't want to set me loose in a large field with lab equipment. But don't worry, I'll come back." He gave her a comical smooch on top of her head. Seriously, though, he would. Thinking about it, it was kind of hard to imagine not having her beaming presence around. It was like sugar, and sunshine, and laughter-- well, a bunch of happy stuff, at any rate. It was hard to imagine life without her constantly keeping his happiness up. He'd probably very, very sad if she ever left. Understatement of the year, dude.
He stroked her hand with his thumb gently. "I'm fine," he smiled. "Just a little static." He didn't let go of her hand, though. It felt natural, like someone had carved out a perfect niche for her palm in his. "Sorry for startling you."

"Ooof," Hollie chuckled at the bag took up residence in her lap, "ooh, you're letting me rummage through your bag, this is a momentous moment." She dug around inside, not finding anything of note. Suddenly, she let out a cry; feeling Ollie jump beside her, she burst into an evil cackle. "Oh, it's just Jack," she pulled the teddy out by his foot, stroking his head in an adorable fashion. "Nothing to be afraid of."
"Well, hasn't this conversation turned morbid," Hollie poked him gently, "don't worry, I'd probably reach for the red and end up with a purple one instead. I'd look fabulous either way. Not splattered across the cobble stones."
She let out a short, sharp laugh when he said that he'd blown his eyebrows off before, quickly slapping her hand over her mouth. Sobering up a little, she said, "good to know." Just like he'd probably prefer that she wasn't mowed down by a steaming bull, she'd rather he didn't blow himself up either. "No exploding," she told him, "I forbid it."
"It's okay," she told him quietly, squeezing his hand gently, "I just didn't want you to be hurt, because..." I love you.

Ollie snorted, in good humor. "Instead of you having to sneak through it. Yes, we might have to take pictures or something." He'd been planning to get his camera and toy with it, but it was hiding somewhere in his hurricane of stuff. Go figure. Then, she shrieked, and Ollie couldn't help but jump. He glowered at the teddy who was hauled from the bag. "Ha ha, very funny, Jack. Real nice, biting. Oh, don't look so smug." The smirk seemed to be sewn into his face. Well, it was his teddy.
"Oh, well, at least you can look more fashionable," he shrugged, sticking his tongue out. "And three-dimensional. That usually helps, I think." Seems his sarcasm was back in full swing. "But yes, I'm sure you'd look lovely in either one. I'd probably be too busy running to mention, but yes."
Snickering, he nodded. "My cooking teacher was not impressed. Those were pretty good ceiling brownies, though." Sighing dramatically, he consented. "If you insist. I'll try to keep everything in one piece. And me too. Maybe." Giving Jack half of the lightsaber to steady, he meticulously started piecing the wiring together.
Ollie didn't have anything to say for a moment. I wouldn't want you to get hurt either. Because it would scare me just as much as it would hurt you. "Yeah," he finally nodded, rather lamely. He gripped her hand tightly, and nudged his head against hers, almost like he could use telepathy or something easier like that. Nothing would get lost in translation. After a moment, he carefully set the lightsaber down, and wrapped the now-free arm around her. It could wait.

"Yes, you saved me a lot of trouble here," she said, "imagine the havoc I could have wreaked just trying to find the thing? You wouldn't have needed to trash the lab yourself, I would have done it for you." She giggled when he blamed the teddy, pulling Jack close to her chest in a hug. "I'm sure he didn't mean it really. He probably thought my hand was some five tentacled monster in the darkness of the bag. It was self defense, wasn't it Jack?" She made the teddy nod it's head solemnly.
"Ceiling brownies?" she chuckled, "I bet they take some skill to eat." Hollie didn't cook, or bake - even if technology made it possible, she'd always had someone around to make food, or she'd just use the food synthesisers, it made everything a whole lot easier. "No, no maybes," she said, tugging his shirt sleeve, "you're not supposed to come in parts."
It was amazing, the things that they left unsaid between them, and yet they were still so close. She brought their hands up to her face, pressing her lips against his skin before letting them fall back against the bed. She cuddled up against his shoulder, wrapping her arms around his body as he secured his arm around her.
"Ollie," she said, taking the biggest leap of faith that she had in years, "I love you." She was opening her heart up to a whole world of potential hurt, one that she had been battling against for years, but she decided it was worth it, for him.

"Ooh, my hide-and-seek skills are still brushed up, then," he beamed. "We're going to have to play a game of that soon. It's fun, eats up time, and doesn't destroy the lab. Unless it's hide-and-go-seek-home-free." He sighed. "Okay, fine. The teddy gets off. I don't know how you could mistake her for a monster, though." He patted the teddy, then whuffled Hollie's hair teasingly.
Ollie shrugged. "It's actually not all that hard. All you need is a chair and a really long spatula. The plaster is rather crunchy, though. You have to peel it off." He tugged on her sleeve in retaliation. "Maybe I'm a jigsaw puzzle," he joked. "Some assembly required." How he loved those words.
A broad smile bloomed over his face as she gave him a quick kiss. He snuggled her closer, plopping his head on hers. So, this is what they mean by 'home is where you hang your heart'. Then she told him she loved him, and his heart skipped.
For what felt like forever, his throat seemed tight. Why was he reacting like this? Did it really mean that much to him, was it that big a deal? Nothing else could be. He puffed out his cheeks. "I love you, too." He squeezed tighter, hoping she would understand more than just his words.

Hollie chuckled, "definitely, it's a date," she poked her tongue out at him, "it might disturb the other guys in the lab though. Unless we have them join in. I'm sure the Captain will love to know what his scientists have been doing with their time." She stroked Jack's furry head, "I don't know either. But then, if I'd been kept in the bottom of a dark bag for days, I might start to get a bit antsy too." What the hell was she talking about? She was permanently in the dark.
She laughed, "I wouldn't eat too much of the plaster if I were you, or you might be needing dentures a little earlier than everyone else." Snorting, she said, "all right, maybe you are, but you're better to me as one whole Ollie, a lot easier to cuddle that way." She nodded once, snuggling in tightly.
Hollie's could practically feel her heart swell when he said that he loved her too. She held him tightly, so glad that he hadn't let her down or hurt her - that he felt the same way and he was able to say it.
Shifting round, she tugged his shirt gently, pulling him down so that they were lying on the bed, Hollie cuddled in to his chest. After a few moments of silence, she began humming softly, no particular lyrics in her head. She just felt happy, and warm, and loved.

"Ooh, so I should be dragging out some candles too, then?" Ollie chuckled, making a grab for her tongue. Missed. With a snicker, he mused, "Well, the only other scientist I've actually seen is Miss Porter, and she's been in the med bay for a while, poor thing." He crossed his chest automatically. "So, we'll have to invite the Captain to join. Even the high-ranking officers need to have fun once and a while." He scoffed a little, "Days? Just this morning, he was getting into the chemistry supplies. Almost died his fur blue, the rascal." He patted the bear. "Though, he would probably look fine in blue anyways."
"I'm a sailor kid from Maine," he snorted. "I've been eating hard-tack since I was three, and my dental hygiene is fine." He thought for a moment. "Okay, maybe not. But no need for dentures, at any rate." With a beam, he squished Hollie in tightly. "Much better for cuddling," he agreed, tugging her hair teasingly.
Closing his eyes, he snuggled into the bed, listening to her hum a song he didn't know. "That's pretty," he murmured, feeling like he would fall asleep. It was immensely cozy. He hadn't really felt anything like this before, and he was sure glad he did. He gave a fake snore.

"Hide and seek and candles, that's recipe for disaster," she snickered, she could imagine the look on the Captain's face when he found out that they'd managed to set the lab on fire by playing hide and seek. "She has?" Hollie asked with a worried tone. Ally was lovely, when you didn't get on her bad side - rather like Hollie herself - and treated her just like she would any other person who still had their sight. "What happened to her?"
"Good," she said, "we don't want your teeth falling out in cold weather and chattering their way down the street." Just the thought of that made her laugh out loud, her hair being tugged meaning that she continued to giggle. She tilted her head up and blew Ollie's fringe around a bit, a smirk on her face. No doubt it was a little squiffy now.
"Mmm," Hollie agreed, her tune forming into the lyrics of a song. She had just about pinpointed the lyrics she wanted when he let out the snore, and she snorted with laughter, poking him in the ribs. "Quiet," she whispered, playing with the front of his shirt while she found the song again, singing the lyrics out loud.
Boy I hear you in my dreams I feel your whisper across the sea I keep you with me in my heart You make it easier when life gets hard
Lucky I'm in love with my best friend Lucky to have been where I have been Lucky to be coming home again

Ollie snickered. "I should probably change my middle name to Disaster," he chuckled. "Legally and everything." He sobered up slightly as the conversation turned to Ally. "I think it was something with R4," he shrugged. "I didn't really want to ask, and start prying. Poor gal." Ally was something of a genius, and she had a good work ethic. Much better than his. She could be quiet, but she was nice despite. The lab was getting rather lonely without her.
"And fall over the side of the boat," he laughed. "I'm sure the fish would be mighty impressed." Sticking his tongue out as she blew his hair across, he scowled, "That's my line." He couldn't help the smile creeping up.
Curling reflexively at the poke, he chuckled, then shut up. Listening to the pretty tune, he beamed. She was such a beautiful singer, and the fact that she was singing it to him made it all the better. "Thanks," he murmured when she had finished, planting a kiss on top of her head. "I'd sing you a song, but Jack would run off screaming."

"Ollie 'Disaster' Pratt," Hollie chortled, "it suits you." Not really, but it helped to pander to him, it was more funny that way. "It's always something to do with R4 these days," she sighed, shaking her head slightly. They were trying to take them out, and it was getting to the stage where it was kill or be killed. And, to be honest, she'd rather stay alive. "I hope she's okay. Once I'm... clean, I'll have to go see her, take some of the Halloween candy I have stashed away." Or maybe she could find some flowers, they'd be nice. Even Hollie could appreciate them, via her nose and heightened sense of smell.
"Oh dear, imagine a trout or something getting ahold on your gnashers," she snickered, "it would be like role reversal. You'd be standing there blubbing and he'd be grinning back." Bursting into reels of giggles, she blew his fringe again, "you forgot to copyright it."
"You're welcome," she whispered in return, burying her head against his chest before chuckling. "I'd have to hold him down, make sure he didn't try to gag you or anything."
