So, the impromptu decision has been made to start up a thread about random TV shows (and, by that extension, movies based off of them) that we like, and feel like chatting about. So, I guess... Just put up a TV show, why you like it, and we can go from there. Viva televisions!
Doctor Who-- Watched most of the revival series, though I want to get into the Baker era. It's hilarious, and crazy, and imaginative, though it gets dark in some episodes too. The romance kinda dwindled after Billie left, but with Matt Smith, you never know. It's just basically amazing.
Stargate-- Watched part of the first movie and loved it, so now I need to get into the series before they make too many for me to watch. XD
Star Trek-- I occasionally watch the original series if it's on, and it makes me laugh. The movies were good too.
The Good Guys-- It just started airing it's first season, so it's not wide-spread, but it is HILARIOUS. It has Colin Hanks (Tom Hanks' son) and Bradley Whitford, and it's about two low-level cops that investigate silly crimes like vending machine break-ins. It's great.
Anyways, let's get chatting!

Doctor Who - I've been watching the revival ever since Christopher Eccleston was the Doctor and I adore it. This latest series with Matt Smith has been interesting, mostly because Stephen Moffat's ideas and writing. Also, he hired Richard Curtis for an episode - awesomeness. (The Van Gough one, which was fantastic.) I adored David Tennant as the Doctor, he had such energy and talent Stargate - I'm a big fan of the latter seasons 7 & 8, but particularly 9 & 10. Adding Mitchell and Vala to the team was a brilliant idea (IMO), they interact so well with the other characters considering they were barely in it before they were introduced in Season 9 as regular cast. I got into Atlantis first, funnily enough. Loved the banter between Sheppard and McKay. If I watch too much of it though, I start clicking my fingers like McKay haha. Star Trek - I've watched bits and bobs of Star Trek since my age in years was in single digits. My Dad loved to watch it, and I watched it with him. I've seen parts of all it's incarnations. And, adding a new one into the fray... Battlestar Galactica - I recommend this one to any serious sci-fi fan. The power of the stories between these human beings (and Cylons) is astounding. Deserves all the acclaim that it gets. I could go on about Joss Whedon's shows as well, but I'll stick to that for now xD

Stargate SG-1: I loved how original the show was. Great cast, great acting, great storylines. It certainly left me wanting more after each season ended wondering what kind of shenanigans the team would next find themselves in. It was great. Though I was really hoping they would renew the contract for a season 11.. oh well. At least Ben Browder lived up to all of my expectations. =D
Burn Notice: Another great show. I love its acting and story. The characters are very enjoyable. Even the newest personality, Jesse, which, honestly he had to grow on me for several episodes. At first he was just, to me at least, he was that annoying rookie who was the complete opposite of the main character that I grew to love since the pilot always contradicting and second guessing what he had to say. =D
Stargate Atlantis: Wonderful spin off.
Stargate Universe: Another great spin off.
That's about it for now..

I'm sorry, but this promo is just too funny to pass up. Pardons for the shameless advertising of this show.

I agree, Becky, David was definitely my favorite Doctor. Donna was my favorite companion, by far-- she and the Doctor had such amazing energy together. I loved that series, it was really well scripted too. And if any Doctor Who writers are listening, pleeeease, pretty please give us just one episode with Ten, Jack, and Rose! That would have been an episode for the ages. But I'm liking the new series, especially since they brought Rory on (rip, at least for now, I hope). Anyways, enough of me ranting.
I'm definitely needing to watch the Stargate series-s (if that's a real word) now. I've heard of Battlestar Galactica, I think a friend of mine has a season, I'll go borrow it. As for Burn notice, I've never heard of it-- what's it about?

Doctor Who: I got into it in a roundabout way, through an audio drama fan production. Shameless plug. Looking back on it now, it's pretty hilarious, and a little mysterious how I managed to get into it, because I didn't have a -clue- about anything... but anyway, after that I devoured the revival stuff and am now hooked on the classic series as well. My favorite post-2005 Doctor... it's currently a fight to the death between Eccleston and Smith. I think Matt Smith may be winning. My favorite classic Doctor is Sylvester McCoy (don't shoot me!) followed closely by Patrick Troughton. Yeah, I have odd taste in Doctors. And while we're on the subject... I'm not sure what it is, but David Tennant is one of my least favorite Doctors. If I could explain it properly I would, because it looks like I'm outnumbered here and I'd like to, y'know, defend my position. I guess it's a matter of personal taste, ultimately. And, er... other shows? I like House, watch it mainly for the characters because despite spending lots of time in hospitals, my medical knowledge is pretty limited.

Ooh, I need to get into the classic Who. I watched a movie of it one time-- I can't remember what it was about for the life of me, though. It was the first time they ever encountered the Daleks. It was pretty hilarious. As for Mccoy, I've never seen him, so I'll have to. And I have to agree, Eccleston was a great Doctor, I loved the episodes with him, Rose and Jack-- definitely some of my favorites. I was glad they brought Jack back in Utopia, he and Tennant had awesome chemistry, in my opinion. Matt Smith is starting to grow on me, too, and I can't wait for the finale of the series.
I'd love to hear your argument on Tennant! I personally hate it when people flame others for not liking what they like. Personally, I love Tennant for the range of emotions he can portray-- he's a great comedic actor, and he can be so funny, but he can also dive into darker emotions as well. If you ever get a chance to watch his Hamlet, it's very good-- there's such a rawness to his performance that I find really brings out the emotion. But I'd love to hear your opinion on his characterization-- that's the point of having all these Doctors, eh? XD

I figured there would be fellow Doctor Who-lovers here, and I was right! I've only recently been introduced to it, but I plowed through all of the new series, and the first couple episodes of the latest season. I'm also working through Torchwood, which is just as brilliant, if quite a bit darker. Captain Jack Harkness has got to be my favorite character ever... Have to echo Becky's sentiments on Battlestar Galactica. Watched all five seasons, and while I wasn't thrilled with the end, I thought it worked well enough. I loved the depth of characters you got throughout the series - Apollo and Starbuck especially, although I have to say Gaeta was probably my favorite. I adore Glee. It appeals to the high school theater geek side of me. The quality of the plot varies from episode to episode, but the music is always terrific. And the episode with Neil Patrick Harris, directed by Joss Whedon? Epic win! Currently in the process of watching Buffy and Angel, to round out my Whedonverse obsession, sparked by Firefly - what else?

Woooo, another Joss fan xD I totally forgot to mention Glee D:
I've been marathoning Gilmore Girls with my sister. We're near the end of Season 4 at the moment, and enjoying it so much. So witty xD
