~~~~~~ HISTORY[/b]
History:
When someone said they were from Orcus V, the conversation generally took a turn for the awkward and was often either quickly redirected, or ended altogether. It hadn’t always been such an awful place; in many ways it had been much like Earth, or so he’d been told. During his lifetime, life on Orcus V had always been one awful thing after another. Outside of UGAP territory, things have been getting worse for a long time; he had no idea whether or not it had anything to do with the disturbances. The first attack literally devoured 80% of the population, and collapsed their civilization. News of this was probably what brought the second invasion. Tyrants were a slower, different kind of evil, and the Orcuns had no chance of resisting between their few numbers and fewer resources. The planet itself was rich in raw materials, and now it had its own captive population of free laborers. The Oppressors were met with resistance of course, but most rebellions were relentlessly crushed by strong firepower and a complete lack of mercy. He had his own role in the resistance.
Mostly, he made bombs.
In fact he could make almost anything given the right raw materials, and he was incredibly handy a getting through locked doors and security networks. He was lucky enough to get off the planet when pirates raided one of the enemy stockpiles. He’d helped them escape in exchange for getting him “the hell away from here.” Whatever it was they stole, he was sure that he’d gotten the better deal.
Despite of a complete lack of a formal education, it had always been clear to those around him that he was a genius. He’d gone to Earth because they were supposed to have one of the best, and most accessible education systems. His entrance exams had been off the charts, and resulted in his education being completely paid for (which was good, because he was more than a little short on currency). That was when the UGAP first started to keep an eye on him. He was always more interested in learning than in getting any kind of degree, so he wasn’t too disappointed when they kicked him out for having an illegal cerebral implant installed. He’d taken up a job as a severely overqualified pirate engineer when the UGAP found him in an off-world internment center and sent him straight to the Venia.
Random Facts:
-Specialties include bomb manufacturing, nanotechnology, and quantum theory
-Probably talks too much, and has a tendency to rant and ramble.
-Will do almost anything for a beautiful woman.
~~~~~~ PLAYER[/b]
Name: Carol
Age: 20-something
RP Experience: 5+ years
Any Other Characters? nope, usually a one-character-wonder
RP Sample:
Wow. It was his first thought when he stepped into his new quarters on the Venia. He laughed a little to himself when he thought of the cell he’d been in just 36 hours ago. Hell, this mission would have been worth it just for the room and board, but mostly he was excited to get to work. He was nothing if not a workaholic; he constantly had side projects going, unable to wait to test out his new theories. He wondered what his chances were of securing some place on the ship to set up shop. Governments made him nervous. He had little doubt that his name had already been given to the chief of security as someone to keep an eye on. He wasn’t dangerous exactly, but his abilities made his a security threat; in fact, he was probably only about 10 minutes away from rewiring his computer so he could have complete access to the ship’s database.
