Will could only smile at the comment, saying: "I thought you were a brutish idiot that only knew how to shoot first and ask questions later. Little did I know you actually had a mind inside of that pretty skull of yours, which is a rare find in most women these days. I've come to respect that in you." Another breeze wafted past them, slightly cooling the night air down by a degree or two. Perfect weather. "Even if you do take a bit long to get ready...and even if you do look like a mess after you wake up."

"Well, no one is perfect," she said with a wide smile, turning it on him. "I thought you were an arrogant arsehole with nothing to do but fix things and insult people with your general antisocial behaviour. And yet," she sighed slightly, "you're honest, and handsome, gentlemanly and caring, witty as well, when you want to be," she smiled, "and, much to my surprise," she drew to a stop, "I like you."
"A lot."

Will had been listening to her intently, so she was surprised when she stopped abruptly. He then heard her say two very short sentences that he knew were coming at some point on this venture. And as much as his ego wanted to tell him that SHE had fallen into his charm and affections, he couldn't shake the feeling that it was he who had fallen for her. For once, his ego couldn't win out. Will didn't say a word for a few moments, only taking her hands into his own, the rays of both moons illuminating her face. He didn't have to face every day alone, he didn't have to wake up realizing that he was on an island emotionally, intellectually, or even physically. He could have her. Every day of his life. "If...if this is what you want..." He was, reluctantly, growing a lump in his throat as emotions began to constrict him. He wouldn't let her slip away from him and he wanted to make sure, if this was going to get as serious as he thought it could become, that she would tell him this, if only for his personal benefit. Continuing: "Promise...promise me you...you won't leave me alone. Promise you'll be there for me every step of the way....Promise..." He looked down at the ground for a moment, trying to settle his emotions down(something he usually was very good at). He then looked at her with a small tear running down his left eye, finishing: "Promise you'll love me."
(I can't believe I just came up with that.)

(Oh wow ;_;)
Usually Anna was the one who felt vulnerable. She covered it with bravado, witty comments and sarcasm, but on the inside there was this little girl who was hurt, hurt more than anyone could ever imagine, and couldn't be let out for fear of herself losing control completely. And yet, here she was, and it was Will who was vulnerable. Abandoned by his mother, his father, his sister... he'd lost so many, not through choice, they'd just left him, cruelly and unfairly. His pain was different to hers and she couldn't imagine how he must have felt every day, what he must have thought of himself because of what had happened to him. Anna could feel her own eyes stinging with tears, "I promise," she said, letting go of his hands to reach up and rest her hands gently on his face, wiping away the tear that fell, "and no matter what, Will, I won't ever hurt you." Not intentionally or otherwise. Leaning forward to rest her forehead against his, she closed her eyes, her hands slipping down to his shoulders. She could feel his warm breath on her lips, she whispered, "I already love you."

(I know! This is quite possibly the most emotional I've ever made a character.)
He felt a tide of relief come over him as he heard her accept his conditions, smiling slightly as she drew closer to him, her hands on his shoulders. He wrapped his arms around her waist, drawing her closer as he kissed her lightly on the lips, allowing the gesture to linger for a moment before he told her: "I'm never letting you get hurt like that again. Never. We protect each other." Another breeze came, this time a bit chillier. He drew Anna closer to her, allowing her to lean her head on his chest as the two stood. He was transfixed by what had just happened, amazed really. "Your hair looks better now that the wind has done some of it's work." He looked down at her and smiled, kissing her again.

(Hmmm, probably not for me. But this... this is... wow. They're so screwed up and yet perfect for each other xD)
Anna smiled, the tears in the corners of her eyes twinkling, but not falling. She nodded, "whatever it takes." The injury to his leg would be the last he would ever receive if she had anything to say about it. She returned his kiss, "so you actually like it being a mess, then?" And he had made it sound like a bad thing. "Maybe I should turn up looking like I've been standing in a wind tunnel more often." The joking wouldn't have stayed at bay for long, she knew that, she wouldn't have wanted it to. She reached up, placing her arms around the back of his neck, looking up into his eyes, "you're beautiful," she told him, meaning it in every respect. This time she kissed him longer, her hand massaging the back of his neck as she did so.

(BAHAHAHAHAHA! Yes, they totally are perfect for each other)
He heard her call him beautiful, which made him laugh slightly, responding as she drew closer: "I know, darling. I have to set a good example for you." He leaned into her as they kissed, his neck absolutely loving the massage her hands were giving it. The pleasure centers in Will's brain were going off the charts, which prompted Will to think...that's right. He would have to tell her when they got back to the hotel. But for now...he felt oh so good. Will broke away for a moment, studying her face in the moonlight. Her eyes...he had never noticed how sincere they were. "When did your eyes get so deep and meaningful? Never noticed it before."

"I'm still learning," she said, breathing a little heavier, "but I'm sure following in your footsteps won't be too hard. They're not small, after all." She smirked against his lips before he pulled away. "Since you promised to protect me," she said. No one had ever done that for her before. She'd always been the protector, not the one to be protected. He'd allowed her to feel safe for once, to relax a little and let someone in. He was breaking down those walls she had set up around herself with little to no effort. He had some sort of power over her she couldn't quite describe. "I don't know how you got in," she said, "you made me let my guard down. I've never done that before." It was a welcome change; to have someone supporting her, instead of her doing what she'd always feared - opening up then breaking down.

"It's called my charm, darling. It works most of the time almost instantly. Took a while with you." He smirked, kissing her lightly again before realizing that it was probably closing in on one o clock in the morning...and they had a general to report to in seven hours. "Come on, we need to get back to the hotel. We have a briefing in seven hours." Even though Will had a new found lover, one could instantly see the dedication towards his work surface. He wanted to know about the rifts, and he wouldn't want to be half asleep.
He led her back to the adjoining rooms, Will taking off his shoes and neatly putting them next to the door(Anne habit). He glanced over at Anna, asking: "Wake me up in a few hours, will you?" He sat down on the edge of the bed, the act now recalling something he had wanted to tell Anna...

"That's because most of the time charm covers something dark that lurks beneath." Or, at least, that had been her experience with guys in the past. She figured it was more because he'd actually been vulnerable with her, instead of being brutish or 'manly'. Anna sighed. It was true, unfortunately.
Anna closed the door after they entered, lingering there, watching him with his shoes. "Of course," she said, still hovering. This was going to sound stupid considering what they had just been doing outside, "do you mind if I...?" she gestured to the bed, a spot next to him. Being around him, it had been the fastest she had got to sleep in... years, and the best she'd slept.

"About that..." Will got up from his sitting position as he explained: "I don't...I don't feel comfortable with us sleeping together like this. I know how I am, darling and if the more we slept together, the more I would be tempted to take your clothes off. You can sleep in my bed and I can sleep on the floor if you want." If there was one thing that Anne drilled William about the hardest, it was making sure that he controlled himself and didn't allow for there to be situations where he might be tempted to do something stupid like copulating with a woman who, although he loved her very much, was not his wife as of yet(that could change eventually). "Just how am I, babe."

Oh wow. Anna should have figured with his background, and his need for there to be a clear dividing line between right and wrong that he'd be like this when it came to... "Oh, no, no," she said, "we can't have you sleeping on the floor." This was totally surreal, she hadn't me a guy who had these values before, it was different. "I get it, I respect that." It made her want to laugh a little in disbelief, but still, she repected it. It wasn't like she had wanted to jump into bed like that with him right at that moment anyway, despite her dream. "I'll see you in a few hours," she said with a nod. She began to make her way to her room before veering round, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek before heading off to her room, leaving the door open slightly. Once she was in there, she buried her head in her hands for a moment, amazed at all that had just happened, then proceeded to undress, pull on some pyjamas, then climb into bed. Just knowing he was in the next room enabled her to fall asleep in under a few minutes.
She awoke at 7 o'clock with the light streaming in through her window, which was weird. This obviously didn't happen while they were in space. Rolling out of bed, she walked over to the door and knocked on it, "Will, get your arse moving."

As he saw her walk away, he was about to ask "What, no kiss?" before she pecked him on the cheek. "Night." He watched her leave, then proceeded to undress himself, stripping down to underwear(He needed to make sure he got shorts in the morning) and went shirtless(which felt odd) as he fell onto the bed. His eyes closed momentarily before they opened again. "She had a tattoo. On her ankle. She had a tattoo." He fell asleep.
Will rolled over in bed, not complying with the order Annabelle gave him for a few moments. But then he remembered...he quickly jumped out of bed, going into the bathroom and making sure he looked presentable before he dressed...then checked the mirror again. "Would you like anything before you leave, sir?" The wall chimed. "Breath mints." "Right away." A small opening appeared in the wall across from the bed, Will snagging the "Breathilizing power" of Menthol mints before knocking on Anna's door. "Ready?"

(Lol, a tattoo xD)
Anna showered, dried her hair (in seconds thanks to a most wonderful device), and brushed her teeth as fast as humanly possible before whizzing across the room to grab whatever she could find in her bag, which ended up being jeans, boots, a t-shirt and a scarf. He knocked just as she'd grabbed her shirt, and she'd almost gone to the door topless before mentally slapping herself and refraining. Finally, she appeared at the door, pulling it back to reveal him standing there, and grinned. He looked good. "Yep, finally," she said, taking too long, as usual. But I'm sure you find it endearing really," she gave him an innocent smile.

Will smiled back, kissing her as he told her: "Absolutely." He took her by the hand and led her outside to the hallway, where he began to talk: "I don't know if you remember, but there were reports that cited strange markings around where the rifts took place. They almost looked like a sign of some sort. Remember the terrorist boss? When I went to snap her ankles(gorgeous day), I saw the same tattoo. These rifts could be human engineered." He turned to the right, finding a navigation console and punched in the Alliance base coordinates. It was a simple path: straight, then after half a mile, left. "Think about that for a second: HUMAN engineered rifts. We're talking huge machinery here with loads of nuclear energy."
