"Yep," Anna said, looking across at the Poole, "vastly intolerable, and yet," she shrugged her shoulders - in love with him, that's what she was. Hey, not much else in her life had made sense, why should it start being all normal now? The medical centre didn't look as bad in comparison to the rest of the city, on the inside anyway. They had half decent technology. They'd be able to fix her up enough to tide her over. "Where do you want me?" she asked the Doctor, thinking about what she would do after this. They'd probably get in touch with Corver, fill him in, get him to find them a ship to Helio. "Anywhere in particular?"

Poole laughed, a door opening to her right. "In here, Ms.McAdams." What looked like a metal countertop stood in the middle of the room, a computer console in the lower right hand corner of the room, and...nothing else. "Just sit on the table and I'll activate the diagnostic machine. Should take a few seconds. In the meantime...I'll patch up your cut myself. I don't trust the automated machines around here to do anything anymore, not after the last attack."
"Could you be a bit more gentle?" Will was sitting up, a machine working on his right arm "gently"(at least, that's what the nurse told him.). Apparently this was the only machine that was working and thankfully so: the alternative to the machine's touch was a human effort. And supposedly that would have caused more pain. Will saw a very tall man walk inside the room, a beaming smile as he said: "Mr.Blake, I'm Doctor Chavalga. Sorry about the cold touch, sir. Just the way these things work." "I'll say. Remind me to submit a request to the Alliance for you people to get better equipment. What is this, a T-X 231? These things became extinct nearly a hundred years ago." "Yes, well we do what we can. Tuvian isn't exactly on the priority list when it comes to upgrades."

Anna did as she was told, really just wanting the pain to stop, and to be able to take a shower. Seating herself on the metal table, she looked across at Poole. "The last attack?" This was something she hadn't heard about. She knew that there were a lot of dirty dealings that went on on Tuvian, but not that there had been an attack. What would someone have to gain from attacking this place? Unless someone important higher up had been in town, of course. "How long have you been working here?" she asked the doctor, watching her as the machine began working, then she began cleaning her cut. It must have sucked to get through medical school, which was an achievement, only to be stuck here. Unless she chose to be here of course. She couldn't exactly talk about doing something 'safe' or 'sane' with her life really. Not when she was jumping off things, taking down terrorists, and being injured every week or so. This was a life only crazy people chose. That would explain a lot, if she was crazy. "How much damage is there?" she looked up to where the cut was, "think it'll leave a mark?"

"Yes, we've been attacked here by two of the more powerful gangs. They want to, as I've heard, try to send a message to the Alliance that things aren't as good as it seems. But this is the Fringe, and no one would pay attention to the attacks anyhow, let alone the Alliance brass. It almost feels like we're living in a war zone. We have gun installations around the building and our staff won't go out at night. Tuvian has gotten to be too dangerous. Hold still, this shouldn't hurt too bad." The doctor heard Anna's next question, answering it as she began to clean the wound: "I've been here for three years now. Hard to believe. I left my husband and two kids for this post. Thought I was going to go and do something for the good of the 'Alliance'. Turns out that the Alliance has done nothing for me in return. And don't worry, you'll be fine. Maybe a small scar, but you should be ok." A soft chime came out from the computer console, the console now speaking: "Patient name: Annabelle McAdams. Ailments: Possible concussion, minor head contusion, lacerations." Doctor Poole looked from the console to McAdams, saying: "Ok, see? Not as bad as being dead right? I'll make sure to get you some painkillers for the migraine that's going to come. They always do after a concussion. Other than that, I believe you're good to go. I would have made you stay longer, but seeing as you survived what appeared to be a hopeless situation, I'll cut you some slack. Let me know if anything else does flare up." The doctor went to the console, continuing as she worked with the machine: "It's getting dark, so I wouldn't recommend that you leave. Anyway, General..Corver, I believe, wanted to speak with you right away. The comm room is down the hall, second door to your right."
Will's arm was now in the right place and, according to the doctor, within two days he should be alright as long as he took the pills the doctor gave him. Sure, medicate me. "Your sleeping quarters are downstairs." "I can't leave?" "You wont' want to." "And what do you mean by that?" "The gangs here don't like Alliance. And besides, you really want to stay in a Tuvian hotel?" "Touche."

"I'm beginning to wonder if there's anyone in the universe that likes the Alliance right now," she thought out loud, biting the corner of her lip, the pain from Poole treating the cut was nothing compared to what she'd had earlier, or what was yet to come. A migraine wasn't going to be fun, not at all. Anna smiled a little, she liked this doctor. "Yep, being alive, definitely a bonus." It had been a pretty crappy situation, they were lucky, well and truly. Hopping up from the table, she looked across at Poole, "thanks," she said sincerely, "I'll put in a good word for you, see if we can get you marked down for a transfer to somewhere better." It was the least she could do really. "The Alliance may not follow up on it's promises, but I will." It was a bit of a long shot, but if they really were that important, then it was worth a try.
Anna made her way down the corridor, keeping alert. She hadn't liked the way that Poole had told her not to head out into the dark, she hoped Will didn't get any silly ideas while she wasn't with him. The comms room wasn't hard to find, Will wasn't there, but she figured Corver would be anxious to talk to at least one of them. Stepping back out in the corridor, she caught the attention of a passing nurse, and asked her to send William Blake here if she saw him. Anna connected the call, pulling up a chair so she could sit. "Sergeant McAdams for General Corver."

"Well, any questions for me?" "No, no, I'm...I'm fine for now." He was going to ask if he could toy around with the machine, but then again, that was the only one they had working. Will knew he could fix it, but if he made any mistake, the medical staff would throw him to the lower levels. Not good. "Take care of yourself, Mr.Blake." Will waved as the doctor exited the room, waiting a few moments before walking outside. Lower levels...lower levels. He walked to the end of the hall where a map was being projected off the wall. The elevator chute was only a turn away. Fantastic.
The room was passable at best. A holographic image projector stood on a desk tucked away in the upper right hand corner of the room, a bed in the middle of the room(a bit small), and a compact metallic dresser was on the left hand side of the room .Basic, but it would do. Will went over to the projector, pressing a green button that protruded out of the top of the object. In almost the blink of an eye, a projection of a news desk was in front of Will. So the news was on. "Enlarge by one hundred twenty percent." The image became life-size. Good enough.
"McAdams! At least you're in one piece. Listen, things are getting worse over on Helio, but I have some of my squadrons out there already. You need to get your crew together and FAST before this thing blows up in our faces. We think we may have a solution to control it, but we won't be able to hold off forever. Get your rear ends to Helio as soon as you can."

"Easier said than done sir," she said, "Yaroska dropped us on Tuvian, he didn't have enough fuel to make it to Helio. And now that the sun has gone down, it has been made clear that it isn't wise to go out at night here. I don't feel comfortable escorting Doctor Blake back to the ship in this state, with the gangs out there looking for people to snatch." "Also, we haven't been able to make contact with any of the crew," she continued, "we'd have to go out there and search for them ourselves, which could take days. We can't physically deal with Helio and find the Venia crew at the same time. I don't mean to be negative, sir, but with lives in the balance, we need to prioritise." It had been a while since she'd thought tactically on a larger scale. She wasn't used to such responsibility, but was willing to take it on. In her line of work, she needed orders from higher up, unless there was no one to give them, so she could go to work. She could advice all she liked, but in the end, the order had to come from Corver, and whether he liked it or not, he would be partially responsible for whatever happened. "Sir, what do you want me to do?"
The space pirates that had shot Anna and Will down on the moon had definitely got a kick out of it. They'd promptly made their way back to Tuvian to celebrate in style, which meant a piss up at the closest bar. After docking their ship, the rowdy bunch stormed through the city, letting out cries of delight at their killing, quickly finding a bar with decent drink. After ordering several rounds of drinks at once, they crashed around a table, guzzling down the beer and whiskey. "JEN," one of them yelled, "get yer arse over here."

Corver grunted, knowing that Mcadams was right on most points. The crew was still a question mark, but the rift was still growing...Corver knew the Alliance wouldn't want him to just sit on this. This was too big of a problem, even if it was on the Fringe. If word got out about this thing... "I'm going to send out some of my own fleet to deal with this mess. If I can't find your crew in forty eight hours, I'm sending in half the Alliance military force to deal with this, with or without you people. I've had enough of waiting. It's either you get your crew to Helio or we start blowing holes in that system until we have our answers. I'd suggest you hurry it up, Mcadams. We don't have much time. Corver out."
Jennifer Blake turned around to address the drunken man who had called out to her, laughing heartily as she said: "Coming baby, coming." Her wavy brunette pony tail wagged back and forth as she practically skipped from off the table she had been dancing at(entertaining the boys was hard work, but she knew how to put her back into it) and went over to the pirate who had called her. "What is it? You miss me already, darlin?" If the pirate looked close enough, he could see that her green eyes were on first glance bright and beautiful, but there was a malevolent glint in her eye that could make one very uncomfortable. "Come on now, speak up you drunk pirate! You want me or not? Or are you too drunk with your own victory?" She had been so happy when she had helped bring down that shuttle. Once they saw how vulnerable the thing was, it was just TOO easy. She pitied the morons that were piloting it.
"And we absolutely should pity them! They're misguided individuals..." "Who are tearing up our planet!" Will couldn't help but laugh at what the television news was calling an educated "debate" between two candidates running for mayor of Hunter, the capital city of Tuvian. They were on the subject of gangs, which apparently is a big problem. After watching twenty or so minutes of news coverage, Will could sense the tension that Tuvian was facing, especially here in the capital city.

(If Jen said something about helping shoot down the ship in Anna's presence, she'd want to deck her xD)
"Course I do! Someone would be off their nut not ter want ter have yerself, baby." He slapped his hand against her ass before pulling her into his lap with one arm. "Yer a fine thing." Grabbing his beer, he hoisted it into the air, a bit of the drink sloshing out of the glass, "ter the best damn pirate crew on this here planet!"
"Sir..." was about all Anna managed to get out before Corver signed off. In all honestly, she'd wanted to shout at him about his plan. Start blowing holes in a system? Didn't he know how many problems that would cause? Probably more than were already occurring in the first place. Going in all guns blazing wouldn't help anything. Superiors were such idiots some times. She had other words for them, but idiots would do for now. Managing to restrain herself by just shaking her fist at the screen, she was about to leave the room when she figured it would probably be a good idea to use the computer to track down Will. "Location, William Blake." "Sleeping Quarters, Room 215 A," replied a calm male voice. "Thank you." "You are most welcome." Anna hopped up from the chair, heading out, finding the room easily, knocking on the door. "Will, it's me." She struggled to keep the annoyance out of her voice.

Jen hollered aloud gleefully when the pirate slapped her on the rear end(she loved all this attention), sitting on his lap gladly as she shouted with the other pirates in joy. Boy, she knew this was the right place for her. London didn't have this kind of attention, this kind of adventure, this kind of...looseness. She hopped out of the pirate's lap with a giggle, planting a kiss on his cheek as she told him: "My room tonight?" As she finished the question, a large man with a barrel chest and bristling shoulders came over. He had laser packs strapped across his waist and chest along with a front tooth missing. Jen felt his presence and turned around, smiling as she said: "Jacker! How does it feel to be back home darlin?" "None of that darlin stuff now. We've got serious business to attend to." He turned to the raucous crowd and whistled loudly. They all turned to their leader, eagerly awaiting what could be their next order. They wouldn't be disappointed. "Alright ya drunk idiots, sober up and listen to me real good: We're runnin low on meds again and there just so happens to be an Alliance medical bay not too far from here. I also here that there may be some important people up thar at the place we can take for hostages. So what do you think we should do boys?!" They all responded with malevolent shouting, Jennifer joining in.
This looked to be a fun night.
Will pressed a button on the doorway, the door sliding away to reveal Anna. "So? What did our fearless General Corver have to say about our situation? Did he want to kill us for not making it there or yell at us for breaching protocol? Because that's all I usually hear from those types."

The pirate roared along with his mates, bouncing Jennifer in his lap. They could top off today with a raid on a medical bay, that would make their entire year. They'd be rolling in dosh with all the stuff they could steal and sell. Not to mention, if they nabbed these fancy folk, they could sell them back for a high price too. "You ready for some fun, baby?" the pirate grinned a toothy grin at Jennifer, lifting her off his lap as he and the rest of his crew rose to their feet, "let's go on a raid!
"No yelling," Anna said, stepping inside, "but that doesn't mean I didn't leave there wanting to slap him silly." Wandering in a circle, she looked back at Will, "he said either we find the crew and get our acts in gear, or he'll, and I quote 'start blowing holes in that system until we have our answers'. Military jerk, he doesn't know what he's talking about or how much trouble he's going to cause by getting trigger happy with a system. Idiot, complete idiot." Grinding to a halt, she took a breath, trying to calm down, and not wear holes in the floor. "Now I know why you think we're all like that. Because they damn well are."

Will sat down on the bed as Annabelle paced, turning the life size projection off as she essentially vented to him, the engineer taking this opportunity to take two of the pills the doctor had told him to take(Will hadn't even asked him what the pills were for...ligament healers? Possibly). He chuckled at her comment about Corver being a complete idiot. Corver was a bit smarter than most military types, but still, he WAS military. Probably getting some pressure from the Board to finish the job from it sounded like. "Yes, that's why I bought into the stereotype darling. Seems like none of them have any sense." He had never seen her this frustrated before, but this frustration was shared by the both of them: nothing was going the way it should have been and the Alliance wasn't making things any easier. And of course, they were injured, stranded, and on a planet infested with gangs. Just wonderful. "What did the doctor say about your wounds? Your pretty face going to have a scar?"
"Always." Jennifer kissed the pirate on the lips for a fierce moment before the pirates exited their hideout. The gang consisted of twenty three pirates, each loading two at a time on hover-cycles, Jacker leading the charge. The large man wasn't concerned about authorities: they were too scared or too bribed up to care about what they were going to do. That suited Jacker just fine.
"Doctor Poole!" Poole had been in her room when she heard the call from Steve, one of the security technicians. "What is it, Steve?" "Riders closing in!" "How long till they get here?" "Five minutes, maybe less." "Emergency protocol, now!"

Anna managed to calm down enough to feel like she could take a seat next to him on the bed, which she did, placing her hands in her lap, keeping them still so she didn't grind them into anything. "She said that there'll be a small scar there," she pointed at the particularly deep gauge that the console had taken out of her head, "but other than that, nothing. I can hide that one under my hair anyway, so this pretty face is staying pretty." She gave him a small smile. "How's your arm?" Another minute or so passed before an alarm began to blare into the room and all around the medical facility, a voice came over the comms system. "Alert. Gang approaching facility. All patients must evacuate to the safe point. Repeat, all patients must evacuate to the safe point. Over." Anna looked round at Will, "this thing called trouble, it follows us everywhere."

Will was about to respond to Annabelle's question when the alarm blared, the engineer blowing out a sigh as he heard the command that came over the loudspeaker. He looked over at Anna, responding to her statement: "I blame you for all this. If it hadn't been for you, I would still be fixing hyperdrive consoles." He got up from the bed, quickly opening the door and stepping out into the hallway. There were a few people that brushed past Will in a hurry. He didn't blame them. Then he felt something...coming from...
Explosion.
It was down on the other end of the hall. Where there had once been a solid piece of wall was now one..no, three figures, all dressed in raggedy clothing and wielding laser pistols. So these were the gang...no, they looked more like pirates. Wait...pirates? Why would they be here? No time to think about that though now! "AY YOU! Stand still!" "Sorry chaps, don't like hanging around with trash." The pirates leveled their pistols to shoot when a sharp CRACK could be heard, the pirates slumping to the ground. Will looked up at the ceiling...
High powered turret. Wow, nice.
The other pirates were swarming the upper levels, Jennifer included. In fact, she had been trusted to find the medical supplies! She was finally gaining some trust in the organization. "Jen! Haven't heard from the boys downstairs. Go down there and see what's going on." "Oook."
"Alright then, darling. You're the tactical officer: what do we do?"

"Yeah, right, it's all my fault. It's like I want this sort of crap to happen to me." Already fired up from her earlier conversation, she stepped up onto her feet when she heard the explosion and gun fire. Fantastic, this was just wonderful, really. "You, get back in here," she told him, yanking him away from the door, locking it, before looking back him, "we need weapons, if possible, something to stun these guys with." She began ransacking the room, wishing she had her gun with her. At least it was safely back on the Venia, where ever the ship had got to. She came up with nothing and groaned. Fine, hands it was. "Stay out of the line of fire, or keep searching," she told him, "stay in one piece for me, 'kay?" Listening for a moment, she kept her hand hovered over the panel, waiting for the footsteps outside the door to get closer, before busting open the door, shoulder barging whoever was out there. She was caught a bit by surprise when she realised that it was actually a woman she now had shoved up against the wall, her arm twisted behind her back. "Who the hell are you?"
