Annabelle couldn't express how glad she was that she finally had something to do, even if it was only crowd control. People were panicking. A lot of people didn't know who was hurt, who was lost. All communications in the area were down as there had been a flurry of activity. People were struggling to contact their loved ones and so were bombarding the police with questions, some of them were getting rowdy and violent in their desperation. By the time Anna got there, two police officers had already sent for medical.
Making sure her body armour was secure under her top and not visible, and that she had her gun ready, she tried to talk to the officer in charge, but it was hard over the noise. He basically told her that he had been ordered to defer to her on all matters, that she was now in charge. That was crazy, she'd never been in charge like this before. "We have to start organising people before this gets even more out of hand," she told the officer. They got a tap into the surrounding sound systems which linked into Anna's comm device.
Hopping up onto a bench, she made sure she could be seen by everyone before she began speaking. "Attention everyone," she said, her voice booming out and echoing around the buildings, she went wide eyed for a moment, then blinked and cleared her throat quietly, "we are doing all that we can to get the information as quickly as we can. We have the first reports compiled, and we're going to try and get through everyone in turn. If can I ask for your patience at this time, it would be much appreciated. Further violence towards any of the officers or staff will not be tolerated. Thank you."
She barely had chance to move before the sound of a laser gun erupted from nearby. She leapt backwards, the shot barely missing her. One foot caught on the edge of the bench, and she manage to spin back round to face the crowd, spotting the person with the gun running off through the crowd. Taking a running jump off the bench, she sped into the crowd, leaping and jumping through people, just about keeping the man in his sights. "I have a shooter heading west on Manhattan avenue, I need anyone free to help me corner this guy."

Katy was lazing around the rip area, watching the techies do their thing. She loved watching techies-- they just went along like nobody's business, using their high-tech, government-sponsored equipment as she might use a holo-video remote. Not that she should be talking-- she was the one on a government payroll here. Along with everyone else. Still, no time to diss the people writing your cheques. She heard a beep, and pulled out her cell. She was getting a transmission from the tactics gal, Annabelle. Red-head-- very cool. Red-heads tended to be. "I have a shooter heading west on Manhattan Avenue, I need anyone free to help me corner this guy,"[/i] her harried Scottish lilt crackled through the speaker. Katy grinned. Ah, nothing like a good chase to clear your head. "Be on my way, lass," she quipped through her end of the line. "Don't get too much done without me." She waved cheerfully at the techies, who didn't notice, and took off down a back alleyway. An exciting day was just what she needed.[/color]
((OOC: Is the outfit thing required? I've seen it around a couple times, should I be jumping on the bandwagon here too?))

Anna didn't know how this guy had managed to get the jump on her, even if she had dodged the blow. That would have sent her straight to the medical crew with severe burns if nothing else. Her mind didn't have time to think about it though now, she just had to keep chasing. When she heard Katy's voice come back over the comms, she smiled slightly as she kept the guy in her sights, eventually breaking the through the back of the crowd. "Good to know," she replied, "and I'll try my best. No promises."The guy burst through a door to one of the office buildings. "Entering Jackson Corp," she warned everyone, jumping sideways through the door before it closed, then chased the guy across the lobby towards the stairs. ((Not at all! I think it's mostly just me. I like making the sets to show people what my characters are wearing instead of describing it. ))

Katy heard Anna's warning crackle in her pocket, and narrowed her eyes. Jackson Corp... Those guys never boded well. They were something of a rouge corporation, and no friend to the government in any case. She wouldn't be getting any help from them this time, just a little hassling, if she got lucky. She skipped over a very small barrier in the paring lot-- seriously, what was the use of a little fence like that?-- and dashed in between some cars, much to the drivers' annoyance. She paid them no mind. There was an unloading dock, for large trucks, off to her right. She managed to haul herself up, and dashed through. Bingo. Industrial elevator. She hopped in, closed the grate, and pulled the lever for the top floor. She tapped her toe for a minute, listening to the infuriatingly relaxed muzak, then pulled out her cell. "Anna, I'm headed to the top floor," she hissed through the comm. "I'll block his options going up, which floor do you want to corner this guy at?" In a sudden fit of I-have-a-bad-feeling-about-this, she pulled her Enfield out of her back pocket, and nestled it into her palm snugly. Just in case.

Anna shouldered her way through a couple of security guards who weren't being any help at all, pursuing the man into the stair case. They kept spiralling upwards up the stairs, Anna tiring a little, but still keeping up with him. This guy was fast, faster than she'd expected some frustrated civilian from the crowd to be. She had been about to reply to Katy when she heard the guy's footsteps stop. She ground to a halt just in time to see a door swing out towards her. Throwing out her arms, rebounded off the door, stunned for a moment, giving the guy a chance to try and shoot her again. She threw herself into the wall out of the way, then lashed out with her foot, kicking the gun from the guy's hand. He tried to catch it, but it flew over the banister and down the gap, clattering to the bottom of the shaft. While he was distracted, Anna tried to immobilise him, reaching for a nerve point at his neck. He was quick though, blocking her, grabbing her arms, flipping her over the edge of the banister before letting go. She flew through the air, catching onto the banister a flight down, before using the momentum of her fall to throw her legs up, back over the banister, her feet touching the floor. Taking a breath, she set off in pursuit of the guy again, remembering Katy, "head for the roof," she said, "we can corner him there." She said it quiet enough so that the person she was following wouldn't hear.

Katy heard Anna's voice crackle quietly through the comm, and nodded to the wall of the elevator absently. "Got it," she murmured. If Anna was keeping her voice down, there must've been a reason why. The elevator dinged cheezily, and Katy hopped out, trotting up a flight of stairs. There was a lock on the hatch up to the roof, but a simple blast did the trick. She climbed up a set of dusty stairs, and twisted off another hatch to come up on the roof. She grabbed the hatch for support-- it was windy up there. However, she managed to make her way to the far side of the roof, and crouched down to avoid the wind. "I'm in position," she hissed. "There are two hatches up to the roof, and they're both unlocked and open. Watch out, though, it's windy up here." She stuffed the cell back in her pocket, and set her Enfield to a stun setting. Now, just for the trick of not falling off.

Anna merely listened to what Katy had said, glad she had someone like her helping with this; she sounded experienced, like she'd done stuff like this before. It was definitely beneficial, as if other people had tried to help, she might have been chasing this person for hours. The man burst out onto the roof first, then Anna soon followed, almost being knocked sideways by the wind. The man tackled her out of nowhere to the ground, punching her hard in the face. She pulled her legs up underneath him and kicked him off, hoping Katy would know what to do next.
