After escaping the wrath of the terrorists on the flight deck, Luke and Natalie had made their way to the medical bay. The craziness had died down a little, Jessica, the chief medical officer, had already seen several people off. She'd taken the time to fix the both of them up, bandaging up Luke's leg for the moment, she'd put it through the medi-computer later to sort it out properly later. After making sure that Natalie was okay, he'd started hobbling his way back towards his sleeping quarters.
Limping down the hallway, trying not to mutter curses after every step, he came to a halt, leaning a hand against the wall, putting his head down for a moment. The painkillers damn well weren't doing their job. He cleared his throat, and lifted his head up, looking around when something, or more someone caught his eye. He let out a sort of relieved sigh and said, "Ally."

Jessica had managed to wake her up just enough after stitching up the wound. She suggested a hot shower and bed-rest, giving her a few days to let it heal. She gave a groan of pain, holding a hand to her forehead to suppress the ache from the drugs. With a heavy sigh, she rested her back against the nearest steel wall and set her blue grey eyes into her surroundings. Her gaze was fuzzy and unclear but she was determined to make it back to her quarters by herself. A sort of pride thing. She closed her eyes for a brief second, only to open them to a familiar voice and comforting nickname.
Her eyes widened with joy and a grin crept on to her face. He was alive, and she was more than happy to see him again. "Luke.." she breathed happily and worked to keep her composure in his presence. Alliana stumbled a bit, still woozy, and made her way to him, unexpectedly throwing her arms around his neck without thinking. It didn't occur to her how this hug would look from the outside, but she couldn't help it. He was warm, breathing, Luke was alive.

Luke was a little surprised by the hug, but somewhere in the back of his mind, he had been meaning to do that too. He wrapped his arms around her in return, and buried his head in his hair for a moment. It was good knowing that she was okay, and that she was alive. Letting out another sigh, he realised that he was so very tired, and had been so very stressed not knowing if everyone else was okay, especially Alliana.
After a couple more moments, he pulled back, and smiled a lop sided smile, "hey," he said, "I see you're all in one piece... just." He looked down at her shoulder, "is the guy that did that already dead, or do I have to kill him?" The terrorists holding him and Natalie had already been dealt with.

It had been a while since she had been in this sort of situation. It was nice, comforting and place she wouldn't mind being again. She closed her eyes and breathed him in, he felt like home.
She gave a short chuckle to his words, brushing as few stray curls from her eyes. "Ha..no...no he's dead. Michael came and saved tha day." she smirked, taking a breath to continue. "I did get a swing in though, beat the hell outta him. He wouldn't have stood a chance if...if.." she paused, glancing down at his leg. "Oh geeze, Luke, are you alright?"

"I bet you did," he said, before following her gaze down to his leg, "oh that thing, that's just a flesh wound," he said with a wave of the hand. In reality, the moment played over again in his mind, and he did all he could not to flinch, or start complaining about the ridiculous amount of pain he was in. "Looks just about as bad as your shoulder."
He chuckled slightly, then put a hand to his head, "hell of a day, huh?" he said, looking back at her. He was surprised he was able to keep his eyes off her after the time they'd spent apart not knowing if the other was okay. "Do you mind if we move into the common room?" he asked, gesturing with a hand. There were sofas in there, and he needed to collapse.

Alliana rubbed her shoulder, biting her lip at its reflexive ache. "Yeah..it...hurts.." she rose her gaze back to his own and peaked a small, faint smile. "I'm not really used to it." Rather than answering him to move to the common area, she simply started walking at his side. "All I want to do is sleep it off." she sighed, rubbing her shoulder tenderly.
When they reached the common area, she slinked into a couch slowly, bracing her muscles for the comfort. She wasn't incredibly vocal about her pain, but it was written on her face. She could take the hits, the pain, but being shot in the shoulder was completely new. "it hurts....doesn't it? How...how was it...." She breathed, anxious to edge a little closer and anticipated his reply.

"I don't suppose anybody can really get used to being shot," he said, walking with her through to the common room. He felt the sofa come up to meet him, and flopped onto it, resting his head back against the seat, closing his eyes for a brief moment. Man, that was so much better. "Sleep sounds so good right now," he agreed with a nod, unable to move his head now it was down. That was a bad plan.
He frowned slightly, he could see that she was in pain. He'd been boxing for years, with real people, not just simulations, and he was used to a certain amount of pain, or at least hiding it. "Boy, it hurts," he finally admitted, flexing his foot a little. When he asked how it was, he thought briefly before saying, "you know in action films when the do a slow-motion shot of the bullet going in, blood flying everywhere. It sorta felt like that. Only a heck of a lot more real." After all, it was he that was shot in the leg. He tilted his head to look at her, "how about yours?"

Alliana nodded in agreement and shifted her back against a pillow. She wanted her bed, but spending time with him was enough for now. She was still relieved he was alive, and wanted to believe he was just as happy to see her.
She gave a small sigh and looked back into him. He could tell she was hurting, they both were, but they were alive...together. Alliana clenched her jaw, taking a deep breath through her nostrils. "He....he aimed for my head, I closed my eyes. He missed." she breathed just above a whisper. "I skipped death...opened my eyes to insufferable pain." Her mind wandered back to the event. In that brief half second the shot broke out, she tried to think of who she would miss and who would miss her if she died.

Luke closed his eyes again when she said that he'd aimed for her head, sucking in a breath, he thought about all the things he would have done to that asshole if the Captain hadn't shot him dead. "Good thing he was a bad shot," he said, opening his eyes again, "you can't even imagine..." his sentence trailed off as he rubbed his hand over his face, telling himself to get a grip. "He got what was coming to him." They all did, all the terrorists.
"Well, I'm glad he missed," he said, smiling slightly as he looked over at her. He hadn't had feelings like this for a woman in a long while, not since college. The worry was definitely new though, the panic he'd had when he'd remembered that she was onboard and possibly hurt or even dead. He hadn't had to worry about girls back in school, there was nothing there for them to really be in danger. Here however...

"I'm glad he did too." she smiled back at him. Alliana couldn't help but blush again, so to prevent his gaze, she looked away, staring aimlessly at a painting on the wall. It was a galaxy, swirled with dark blues, hues of purple and silver stars. "I busted his face, his aim was off." she continued, continuing to stare at the wall.
"It...it wasn't close to an artery..was it?" she asked cautiously, turned back to him. She didn't want to worry, he was obviously better, but she honestly felt like she had to know. It had been a while since she had honestly crushed this hard on someone, and she felt like a high school girl. But she couldn't shake him, shake this. There were plenty of attractive men on the ship, but she just felt drawn to him, and quite frankly, she liked him. Liked him more than she had liked someone in a long while.

Luke looked away when she did. He felt like he'd been staring at her, his eyes were strained and tired. "Well, as long as you busted his face," he smirked lightly. He knew that she could handle herself, but he told himself that next time he would try and protect her. It was a guy thing.
He hesitated when she asked if it had been close to an artery. "Not close," he said, not wanting to worry her, but also not wanting to be dishonest, "it tore through it. But it's fine now, the doc saw to that. It's fine." He wouldn't be bleeding to death any time soon, and for that he was glad. He had a lot more of a life to live for it to have ended back there on the flightdeck.
"Don't worry about it," he told her, "I'm back to the Doctor tomorrow, and she'll fix it up completely, it'll be almost like I wasn't shot in the first place." He looked round at her and gave her a small smile, reaching out to touch her hand comfortingly. "I'm a big boy, I'll be over this before you know it."

Alliana gave him an adorable laugh, eyes sparkling with the small bit of happiness he had managed to plant inside of her. She had to hold her breath when he mentioned were the shot settled. It definitely hurt more than he would honestly say. "I'm glad...you're...everyone's okay." she half smiled, trying to cover up her words a bit. Alliana smiled again, softly, as she looked back up at him. He changed how she felt inside, and for once didn't hate everything in the world.
She felt her heart skip a few beats when he reached for her hand. That was definitely a brave move. She felt something well up inside her and suddenly she was drowning in her own nervousness. He was just trying to comfort, but that small, brief touch had sent shivers down her spine. He would have to be numb to not feel the electricity that surged. "Yeah...yes....uh...glad...glad you're okay..."

Luke felt it all right. The ensuing stuttering made him want to laugh, but he simmered it down to a chuckle. "My proximity to you seems to effect your speech," he said, taking his hand back, "if I went over the other side of the room, would you start speaking fluently in another language?" He grinned at her, teasing her a little. Either she'd come back with more stuttering, or a witty comeback, either he was prepared for. Or maybe she'd just slap him feebly for being cheeky.

"Oh shush." she laughed, not quite ready to admit his power over her. She would let him know in due time that she liked him, that or he already knew. He had to have some weakness deep down, it would only be a matter of time before she dug it up and out.
"Oh I'm sure you have a button somewhere." she chuckled, turning to bite her lip so she wouldn't blush again. "So I can get you with your own medicine."

Luke laughed along with her. He was well aware she liked him, but he wasn't sure whether she knew that he liked her. If she hadn't figured it out yet, he was sure she would soon. "I-I-I'm s-sure I do," he teased, "g-good luck finding it." He grinned at her again. "I'll stop, I swear, that's enough for me for now. Well, for a little while anyway." This was the sort of teasing he got all the time at home, and dished out on a regular basis. "How are you feeling?"
