Personality:

Will can be a bit of a jerk. He is over-confident, cocky at times, somewhat arrogant. He can be a terrible flirt when he wants to be, other times he will shun women in favour of work. A lot of his personality is about bravado, hiding an insecure and vulnerable self that lurks underneath. He does have a soft side which comes into play when people get close to him.

Likes: Reading (both novels and and pieces of non-fiction), working on and tinkering with all sorts of tech and equipment, extreme sports, free running
Dislikes: Being interrupted when he's working, not being able to solve a problem, cigarettes, drugs

History:

Will’s life began in tragedy – his mother died giving birth to him, and his father blamed him for it his entire life. He had to put up with his father’s abuse for years with no one to turn to, he had no other family, and his father was high up within the government, someone that the authorities wouldn’t touch. He grew up hated, and therefore had a low self esteem. His acted up in school, getting into fights with jerks and bullies, getting himself into trouble so that his father would get in trouble as well. This only earned him lashings, but he took it.

Despite being troublesome and unruly, he showed great intelligence and quietly excelled in his classes. He sped through school, graduating a year early – all to get away from his father. A year into college, his father was arrested for fraud, and a couple of months into his prison sentence, took his own life. Finally free of his father, Will felt uplifted, however, a lot of his behaviours were already learned by this point. He learned to channel his anger into sports and his free running; however his personality remained the same. Making friends with men wasn’t hard, and flirting with women was easy as pie, but keeping on a long term relationship? That was almost impossible.

After college, he joined a program, and became an engineer on a military ship. He was excellent at his job, constantly praised by his superiors. His was constantly researching when he wasn't tending to the ship's needs, helping to develop parts of all sorts of new hardware. Eventually, the government asked him to be a part of the crew on the Venia, and although he’s not all too fond of the UGAP, he agreed to join anyway. He was one of the first to be asked, a year or so before the mission, and had a hand in the finishing touches to the ship.

Ever since he first stepped on board the ship, that was a lot of turmoil. His life didn't seem to be becoming any less chaotic. And it won't in the future either. He is now married to the love of his life, Natalie, and has his son, Jeremy (or Jay, as they like to call him), and two adopted daughters, children of his late friends, Joe and Fiona.

Random Facts:
- Supports several charities, and gives a good portion of his yearly wages up to support them.
- Has been free running since his early teens, rarely gets to do it while he's working, but likes to when he can to blow off steam.
- Detests cigarettes and drugs as they were his father's bad habits
- Has scars all over his back from where his father used to beat him. Is therefore very shy about taking his shirt off in public.
- Reconciled with his father before the man's official death.
