This was the ship's second visit to Delta Prime in less than a month. With the rift causing such a large amount of destruction, they'd had to make a second trip in order to check out the after effects and make sure everything was getting back to normal. Whilst there, Anna had chosen to drop by the UGAP consulate building there and catch up on some news from her friends back home. They hadn't been able to get in contact with her on the ship, so they'd left messages at the consulate for her.
Not really knowing or caring if anyone off the ship was going to be doing the same, she headed straight there, happy to hear from her friends. Her family hadn't left any messages, big surprise. They probably hadn't even realised she'd left. She certainly hadn't told them she had. She was in the middle of listening to one of the messages about how her friend had got engaged literally the day that she'd left, and that he hoped she'd back for the wedding. That meant wearing a dress. Ugh. But if she could get back to support her, she would, definitely.
She was beginning to return messages when someone else entered the room. Glancing over her shoulder, she saw Alliana and gave her a friendly smile. "Hey."

Alliana gave a faint smile and nodded, giving a breathy 'hey' in return. She was told about the messages, and even though she expected nothing she deiced to go, just to figure out where everything was. In fact, it wasn't just expecting, she knew no one would contact her. There were no friends, and her parents had literally disowned her. Rather than wallow in her self pity however, she just chose to make up lies about it. She didn't need a pity party.

Anna finished up replying to her messages, making sure everything had sent, before heading towards the door. Apart from a greeting occasionally, she and Alliana hadn't really spoken since Anna had come to collect her last time they were on Delta Prime. Anna usually made an effort, but she'd much rather just get back to the ship. She could go wind up Will while he was working or something.
She had just taken one step outside the door when she heard a commotion down the end of the corridor. Before she could react, someone had pulled out a gun and fired. The shot scraped her side as she flung herself back into the room. That was when the security protocols initiated, and the doors slammed shut, locking them both inside.

Alliana heard the pop and in mere nanoseconds, shoved Anna away from a very serious blow. Something popped in her back, but she would deal with the pain. She looked down at her comrade. "Anna...you're bleeding mate, You alright?" The yelling continued throughout the halls, followed by more shots. It was the wrong place at the wrong time. With her aching back, she helped her up, propping her up against the closest wall.

"I'll be fine," Anna said through gritted teeth, then added, "thanks." This was supposed to be a quick visit to the consulate to collect and send some messages, not to get trapped in a blood bath. Anna leaned against the wall, her arms wrapped around her waist in order to try and stem the bleeding. Glancing at the door, she said, "security protocols have kicked in, the building is in lockdown. Nothing gets in or out." Which was just perfect, considering she needed medical attention.

Alliana watched with slightly concerned eyes. She didn't know Annabelle that well, apart from their first meeting, it was just a passing glance down the hallway. She wasn't so great in the medical field, but she knew her way around it..briefly. Things like this seemed to happen to her. She shook her head for a moment, getting a grip on the situation. Anna needed help, and the only one who could give that, was Ally. She glanced around the room, eyes fervent for supplies.
"Don't move, you'll stress the wound. Just....stay theah.." Ally held her shoulders, applying a bit of pressure to let her know she was serious. "I'm gonna see what I can find, alright?"

Anna nodded, keeping her lips pressed together, her hand becoming more damp by the moment. The blood was trying to seep through her fingers. "Just... I... oh, I don't know." She sighed, exasperated with herself. She should have been paying better attention. She should have known that everything wouldn't stay good for long, it never did around her. "I'm not going anywhere," she said. Part of her wanted to go over to the door and start trying to hack the code in order to get out of there, but the other part was telling her to do as she was told. "Just your average day on Delta Prime," she said sarcastically, leaning heavily against the wall. She had a tendency to be snarky when she was in pain.

Alliana was already up, scuffling around for something. 'Im wondering if I made the right choice joining this little expedition." she half laughed, from the other side of the room. Anna's snark didn't bother her, she was used to it, and could dish it out just as well.
She found some fabric and a bit of vodka in a small fridge. That was a start. "Alright.." she kneeled down next to Anna once more. "Pull up your shirt.."

"Can't say it's not exciting." She closed her eyes, biting down hard on her bottom lip. "If I get my hands on the guy that did this... let's say, I won't be forgiving." She'd mustered through a lot of crap in her time, but this was killing her. Grr.
Hearing Alliana making her way back, she opened her eyes, seeing the vodka. "Don't use all of that on my side," she said, "I want some in my mouth too." She hadn't pulled up her shirt for anyone in a long time, and now it was for a woman, ironic. Letting go of her side, she felt the blood between her fingers as she lifted up her shirt past her waist line so that Alliana could get at it.

Alliana was delicate and gentle near the wound. "I'll try not to." she laughed lightly and ripped at the sheet. "This'll sting a bit.." She wadded up another piece and dabbed at her side. "A little spite theah mate?" she joked to take her mind off the pain.
After she disinfected the wound, she bandaged it as tight as possible. "That outta do till we can get ya some real help." She slid her back opposite Anna and handed her the bottle of Vodka. "Sooooo..." she spoke up again, to breathe oncoming awkward silence.

Anna flinched a little as Alliana cleaned the wound and bandaged it, but managed to keep as still as she possibly could for her, to make her job easier. "Just a little," she said, "a little meaning a lot in this case." People always seemed to be firing shots at her on this planet, it definitely wasn't safe.
Anna took her bottle from Alliana gladly and took a long gulp before pulling a face and making a 'bleurgh' sort of noise. "Awful stuff." It barely tasted of anything, so wasn't really that bad, but it was potent, and she hated it unless it was watered down with something else. "I didn't realise that you were a medical officer too," Anna said, offering her the vodka.

Addy ran a hand though her dark curls with a laugh. "I'm not, but..ya know." she took the bottle from Anna's outstretched arm. With one swift motion, she downed the rest. She winced, wrinkling her nose a bit. "god that stuff is strong." she dropped the bottle haplessly and extended her left leg, staring back at the red head across from her. "How...how long 'ave ya been on the ship?"

"Good to know," Anna said, managing a small smirk as she watched the bottle fall to the floor. No more pain killers then. They alcohol would have to make do until the chaos outside calmed down and they managed to get out of there. "The Russians sure know how to blow your head off," Anna agreed, but addressing her question, "since the ship set off from Earth about... 3 and a half weeks ago?" Conversation was good, it would keep her mind off the pain. "Do you live on Delta Prime, or what?" That was where they'd picked her up from, but it wasn't her home, if that Aussie accent of hers had anything to say about it.

"Earth..well..sorta. I don't...really.." she heaved a heavy sigh, jumping into her personal life. "I don't really have a place. Just sort of...around. Hotel to hotel." she swallowed down her words and focused her eyes on her leather boots. "Joining was sorta my second chance you could say."

Anna gave a long understanding nod. No one was perfect, sometimes the best person for the job had a chequered history. As long as they did what they were asked, it was all to the good. "Well, it's a pretty amazing second chance," she said, "despite the obvious bodily harm." Then she smirked, "but hey, the bonding exercise that follows isn't too bad, vodka and small talk." The pain was cranking back up, and so was her snark. It was quietening down outside, but she could hear people crying out for help. "We need to figure out a way out of here," she said, trying to stand up properly.
