History:
Mei grew up in the city of Guangzhou in a small house with her parents and two siblings. As the middle child, she found herself mostly ignored by her parents. They always looked to her brother, Xing, when they needed something important done, or to her sister Mo Li for anything pride-worthy. Only her siblings showed proper awareness that she was there, Xing acting like any protective older-brother and Mo Li looking up to her as a role-model. Even though she got straight As and breezed through school easily, her parents barely took notice, and after a while she gave up all hope of ever impressing them.
It wasn't until she'd graduated university and UGAP approached her with an offer of working on figuring out what was going on with all the sudden fluxes in space-time that her parents seemed to notice her at all. When they heard that the government thought that she was one of the best for the job, they suddenly showered her with praise and commended her for a job well done.
Needless to say, Mei didn't respond well. She was going to help figure out what was causing the disturbances because she would be helping people in doing so, no longer caring if her parents were impressed or not. She left her family on a bitter note, though Mo Li swore she would try to keep in contact when Fei Yen and Li were out of earshot. Mei is now one of the Venia's scientists, working hard to figure out what is happening and--hopefully--assisting in it's rectification.
Random Facts: Mei is fluent in both Mandarin and English, and she has an amazing singing voice, though she rarely bothers to use it.
