Natalie hid a smile and politely turned away as Alliana and Luke told each other to stay safe. Luke had been her first friend on the ship, and Alliana seemed to be good for him. She was glad they'd found one another. Luke beckoned for her to follow him as he started jogging down the hall, and she was quick to do so.
Together they made their way to the other end of the ship, passing only a handful of people on their way. Well, even if the Venia does sink, at least not the whole crew was onboard. What an odd sense of optimism. Shaking her head, she forced herself to pay attention to where they were going. They arrived at the auxiliary room a few minutes later.
She nodded when he mentioned they should run an analysis of the system to see how extensive the damage to the Venia was. Rushing over to one of the consoles, she tapped into the familiar engine network, examining the panel with an intelligent eye. Everything seemed to be in order, and yet...
"Hmm?" she started, looking up at Luke as he asked if she was all right. She opened her mouth to respond, then closed it and flashed him a feigned smile. "I... no, I'm fine. It could have been far worse."
In truth, she was exhausted and her arms hurt from throwing them out to catch herself. The pain in her arms was only a dull throbbing, however, and they had more important things to worry about. Like the rising water-level, for example. She ran a scan of the exterior of the ship to see if she could find any major leaks aside from the flooded flight deck, glancing over at Luke as she waited for it to load.
"How about you? Are you okay? You and Alliana looked pretty shaken up. Not that I can really blame you."

Katy sighed. "I don't know why they can't ever stage disasters at a convenient time. Maybe around 2'o'clock or something. Much better for all of us." She opened the door, and saw a thin layer of water on the floor. "Well, it's not too bad," she offered. "Don't need any rubber boots quite yet." She accepted the comm, and stuffed it in her pocket. "Any idea where the cracks might be?" she asked. "Oh, even better, what are we going to repair them with? Got any sealant, or are we just going to have to use duct tape?"

Alliana removed the biscuit from her mouth and turned to Katherine. "These new sealants are fused with a chemical compound that reacts with tha alloys in most metals. It's better than welding because it can work with wet surfaces. Welding tends ta steam and make a mess of things. When the sealant dries however, we can fuse it ovah." Ally sighed, enjoying her brief moment of genius. She placed a few loose curls behind her ear and kneeled down to where some of the metal had cracked with the pressure.
Thankfully she wasn't dressed all too professionally, so she didn't mind getting dirty. Wet feet were the least of her problems. She was probably the few who wandered around without shoes in the mornings. "Theah should be some of the fixant in a cleaning closest...I..Think I saw one down tha hall. Do you want me to go get it?" she gestured lightly, starting to stand up. 'Do you think you can see if theah's more cracks in tha walls?"

Luke nodded when she said that she was fine, "good," he said, tapping the screen a couple of times to bring up a window, "definitely don't want this ending as poorly as last time." He didn't want to find that their engines had been damaged by something that the terrorist group had left behind, that was going to mean they would be hell to repair. But he couldn't stop thinking that may be the case.
He typed in a command, then began examining the area around the engines, an entry point, or somewhere where a fault may have occured. There was a slight irony in a car mechanic and a pilot examining the damage to the engine, rather than the chief engineer or any of the other engineering based crew.
Luke tore his eyes away from the screen upon hearing her question. "Yeah, it was a bit tense for a moment there." Ally had been hanging on for dear life while he frantically tried to save the ship. His ribs were still giving him some grief, he wouldn't have been surprised if he'd cracked a rib on impact. That would be just peachy. "I don't know what would have happened if we hadn't got out of there before the front screen caved." The water rushing in could have crushed them and they might have drowned. "But, whatever. We're okay, and we can solve this." No point in focusing on what could have happened. They needed to get this ship fixed.
Glancing back at the screen, something caught his eye. He zoomed into the point before pointing at the screen. There was a small black mark where there shouldn't have been one. "What do you think that is?"
