Things had been a bit... awkward since the whole debacle with Ally and the UGAP. At least, now, Luke knew she was innocent. But the fact that she never told him about everything still irked him, despite what he said. He still loved her though, that he knew, and they would work this out, it was just going to take time. They were starting the road to recovery this evening by going to this Award Ceremony together. Ally, understandably, didn't want to go alone, and Luke felt it would be good to get out, off this ship. Also, that part of him that was looking forward to this was excited about seeing Ally in a dress. He hadn't so far, he'd seen her in pretty much everything else and nothing, but no dress. He waited in the Common Room, leaning against the back of the sofa with one of his hands in his pockets. It was so much easier for men to get ready than women, it took them about a tenth of the time. But, hopefully, it would be worth the wait. Luke

Things were anything easy now. She had been avoiding pretty much everyone. Anna, of course she went to for girl time, but she hadn't stopped into the flight deck for Luke. He was so hard to face now, now that she had lied about her past, who she was and her real reason for joining the Venia. Point was, she was now out and open. Most of the crew had been avoiding her as well and with good reason. The whole awards banquet had made her a little nervous. She hadn't been much of a dress person and she wasn't sure how the one she had purchased would fit. With Anna's help, she managed to find a deep, red wine coloured dress with a gold choker hold. It was tight, and form fitting, not that Luke hadn't seen everything already, but she still couldn't help but feel a little self conscious in the thing. Make-up was another trial, but somehow she managed. With a deep, nervous breath, she stared at the woman in the mirror one last time. The UGAP would know Luke and Ally were together, and she only hoped they wouldn't judge him for who he loved, whom she loved. She did one last check of her hair and clicked the door, it slowly hissed and slid opened and Ally stepped out, sucking in her breath dramatically as she met him with a faint smile. "Hey...You look....nice"

Ally was a gorgeous woman, that couldn't be denied, but upon seeing her dressed like she was, Luke couldn't help but let his mouth fall open. He quickly shut it again as he looked her up and down, admiring everything about her attire, her dress, the hair, make up, all of it, the complete package made her look beyond beautiful.
"I was hoping for a little more than nice," he said, allowing a smile to creep onto his face. "You, on the other hand, look stunning." He wasn't afraid to admit it. He had fallen in love with Ally for a reason, he couldn't forget that. There were a lot of things about her he still loved, and he would hold onto that.

"Dashing and handsome would probably suit you better." she grinned. His smile was infectious and she had caught his disease. He looked so much better in a suit, not like he didn't look good before, because he looked perfect in his own skin. It was an image she would probably never forget as long as she lived. With a small breath, she took his hand gently, secretly wishing he would sweep her into a huge hug and plant a kiss upon her lips. She wouldn't let it happen just yet. The tension was thickening again, and she had to collect herself tonight.
She still felt as though she was walking on daggers, nervous as a plump chicken for dinner. Ally subconsciously bit her lip again, staring up into his crystal blue eyes. She had found herself lost in them so many times, but now she felt scared to leap into them. Part of her was still scared of his rejection, scared of everyones shunning, but his in particular. He meant the world to her, and she couldn't bear to lose him over such a stupid choice she had made so many year ago. That was then, this was now and now she was in love.

"Much better," he replied, returning her grin, if his smiles were infectious, then hers were too. Seeing her face light up made him smile every time, no matter what the situation. Luke couldn't help but look down at her dress again, it fitted her body perfectly, and he wondered whether she had made the decision to get it alone, or whether she'd had some help. He'd chatted to Anna briefly when they got back to bring her up to speed, and she said that she'd seen Ally, maybe girl time had helped some what. He'd also made a point to thank Will for what he'd done. Without him, Ally might not be standing here with him now.
Luke looked down at her hand as it found it's way into his - she was shaking. "Hey," he said, squeezing her hand tightly, "look, whatever happens tonight, I'm going to be right there beside you," he told her, brushing a stray hair from her cheek, "I love you no matter what, I promise." And he meant it. Sure, trusting her was going to be a challenge at times after what had happened, but it didn't stop him from loving her, that was a fact.
He kissed her on the side of the head. "Come on," he said, giving her hand another squeeze, "let's get this over with."

Ally smiled faintly and felt herself drawn into his arms. She wrapped her arms around him instinctively, holding her face to his chest where she closed her eyes. She need this, needed him. He was the only person in the entire world who had managed to make her feel safe and loved. Ally breathed deep a few times listening to his heart, before she pulled back to look at him.
There wasn't much she could say after that, so she simply looked up and smiled. Tonight would be tolerable with him by her side. And maybe after the whole thing was over they could go for a peaceful walk in the park. yeah, that would be good. there, of course were other ideas swimming inside her head, but she wasn't going to force them upon him. In all honesty, she wasn't expected to take such a passionate path with him, ther were quite serious now, after going all the way. But she wouldn't have done it with anyone else. Despite all that had happened, he was hurt, but he still loved her and was proving to be a strong point in her life. "I love you too." she smiled up at him with soft eyes.
