Anna hadn't expected Natalie to come to her aid, but she was definitely grateful; she'd just made an arse of herself, and Will had made it ten times worse by making it glaringly obvious! What the hell was she thinking anyway? It was like the beauty she was surrounded by was going to her head or something. Refusing to say a word, she let Natalie tug her away to the bathroom.
Once they were in there with the door closed and they were sure it was empty, Anna closed her eyes and said, "what the hell is wrong with me?!" she groaned, putting her bag down on the counter. She and Ben had one email flurry that had lasted all of twenty minutes and now he was making her dizzy? She had to pull herself together, she hadn't forgotten about that evening at the diner with Ollie. That had been so much fun, and she liked him, at least, that was what she thought. But now, she was confused.
Taking a deep breath, Anna looked round at Natalie. "Thank you," she said, realising she hadn't thanked her yet, "for saving me back there. I think I momentarily lost my mind." That would explain a lot.

As soon as they were in the powder room, Anna closed her eyes and groaned, cursing herself. "Nothing's wrong with you, hon," Natalie reassured her, the endearment she threw on at the surprising even her a little. She shoved it aside and pushed on. "Ben just happens to look fine in a tux. It's not surprising you thought he looked good."
When Anna thanked her, she shook her head a little. "It's fine. If that had happened to me, I know that I would have wanted to get away." Anna then said that she thought she must've lost her mind for a moment. "Are you sure that's what happened?" Natalie ventured cautiously.
She didn't want to pry, but even if Anna was going to lie to her, she shouldn't lie to herself. Judging by her expression, she was just as confused about the whole Oliver or Ben ordeal as well, and she had to face the problem head-on if she wanted to figure it out. Not that Natalie envied the situation she was in--at least she and Will were stable.
"Are you actually okay, beyond losing your mind?" she asked kindly. "You seemed a little light-headed out there, what with the stumbling and all."

Anna nodded slightly as Natalie tried to tell her that thinking Ben looked good in a tux was understandable and natural, but the conventions in her brain couldn't let her believe it. Facing facts, she'd never been in a relationship with anyone, and good morals (and a few movies) had taught her that you were supposed to like just one guy, and fall head over heels for them, not two.
"Yeah, it wasn't exactly my finest moment," she said. Anyone in her situation would have been just as embarrassed as she had been. Men shouldn't be able to have that effect on women, it was liable to cause accidents. Her eyebrows pinched together a little when Natalie asked her if she was sure that was what happened. "I don't know," she said honestly, "I just... don't know, I really don't. I spend quite a bit of time with Ben through work, but I hadn't particularly seen him in that sort of light till yesterday, then especially a few moments ago, as you are well aware. And Ollie hasn't even turned up yet, but he's sweet, and funny, and understands my weird sense of humour."
She rubbed her head, trying not to smudge her make up. "I feel like I'm sort of making a big deal out of nothing though. Maybe I should just compose myself, then go back out there and see how it goes?" That was the only thing she really thought she could do. She needed to relax and deal with it calmly.

"No, it wasn't, but I'm sure by the time you get back out there everyone will have moved on to something else," Natalie said, trying to cheer Anna up. A pretty poor attempt at that. Well, it wouldn't have worked on her, anyway. Anna tried to put her confusion into words, explaining how she felt about each guy. Sympathy welled in Natalie's chest for the red-head next to her.
"Oh, Anna," she sighed, wishing she could think of something to say that would help the young Scottish woman with her problem. When Anna suggested going back out and just allowing things to unfold, Natalie nodded. "That sounds like a good idea," she agreed. After checking her appearance quickly in the mirror simply because it was there, she then headed over to the door.
"You ready?" she asked kindly, surreptitiously checking to make sure that Anna's face had gone back to it's regular coloration.

Anna could see the sympathetic look in Natalie's eyes and realised just how pathetic this seemed, how did she end up here? She certainly hadn't mean to. Taking another breath, telling herself to stay calm, there was no point in freaking out and getting emotional. She'd dealt with a lot of crap, she could certainly deal with this.
"Yes, it does," she agreed, walking over to the mirror also, checking that she'd returned to her normal pale skinned self, which indeed she was, and that he make up was still okay. "I'm ready," she nodded, walking over to Natalie, mustering a smile before they both headed back out to meet with the others.
