Ally flopped into her bunk, beaming a stupid, foolish smile into the steel ceiling above her. She closed her grey orbs, listening to the gentle hum of the ship as it traveled through the cosmos, but all she could hear in her head and her heart was Luke. His smile, his laugh, his gorgeous blue eyes. No, it wasn't love, but she was definitely putty in his hands, especially when he pulled her into his lap and they watched the stars, searching fore the falling ones.
She had to laugh at her fortune It was so much more than she could ever have expected. To feel like this. This must've been what heaven feels like. She held her hands upon her face, letting the chuckle escape from her lips. She didn't have a picture of him, in fact, almost longed to have one with him, just so she could share the memories. Ah, memories. She wanted to make many with him.
The automated shift of the door, sliding into the wall, brought her up to a sitting position upon her bed. Who was that? It was past 3 am now, and Luke himself had actually retreated to his room. They were far from sneaking into each other's room. Not saying they wouldn't pursue that adventure in the future, but now was just downright stupid. She leaned over a bit, trying to get a view of who had just slipped into her room at such an hour.

Anna couldn't remember the last time she'd had a girls night, if ever, but she certainly had the imagination - and knowledge through film watching - to come up with one, and the only person she wanted to have one with was Ally. Also, she wanted to get the dish on her and Luke. Oh yes, she knew, the whole damn ship had probably figured it out by now, they weren't exactly able to hide it very well.
"It's me," Anna said waving her arms, "don't shoot," she joked, "I come baring popcorn. Or, at least, I hope it is. Apparently the biosynthesiser has a problem with the word popcorn. You have no idea how much raw wheat is now sitting in the trash compactor in the mess hall." Flicking a lamp on so it wasn't too bright, she looked over at Ally, so was positively beaming. "Someone's happy."

"Hey, I'm over heah, come on it." Ally chuckled, pushing up on the bed to greet her friend. She couldn't remember the last time emotional bonding had happened for her. But things like this could never be planned after all. She took the bowl from Anna, pulling her in for a hug, just because she felt like it.
"I'm glad you stopped by. You're always a welcome surprise mate." she grinned, letting her accent thicken with the time of night. "I believe it, that stupid machine is...well...pretty stupid. " She slid onto her bed, motioning for Anna to join her. She still couldn't shake the stupid grin from her face. Luke just..well.. did that. And by 'that' is was simply understood that he had existed. That in itself made her happy, even more so that he liked her and seemed to seek her out every chance he could get.
Neither Ally nor Anna was incredibly girly. They tried, but they weren't exactly the greatest. Ally didn't really get chick flicks, that and she was incredibly bitter about Love before Luke. Maybe now, she would take a chance at it. "Just a litte.." she beamed back, the smile still stuck on her face.

Anna hugged Ally in return, making sure the popcorn which she'd spent twenty minutes retrieving from the machine (and some unauthorised tinkering which she was sure to get an earful about later) didn't spill in the process. "I like being a welcome surprise, I should be one more often." Sliding onto the bed, she grinned.
"This is as close to girly as it gets by the way," she said, "popcorn and talking. If you want to break out the nail varnish and hair spray, I'm outta here." Crossing her legs underneath her, she looked across at Ally with a smile. "And by little, you mean a lot, yes?" she grinned, "and would that be because of a certain dark haired Aussie who happens to spend a lot of time up on the flight deck in the early hours in the morning?" She smirked.

Ally pulled up one leg, letting the other hang off of her bed as Anna settled in across from her. She grabbed a small handful of popcorn, shoving it into her mouth. "Yes, you should. It's been hard to catch you around lately." she smiled up at Anna, still glad her friend had stopped by. Best, even. It might be a more appropriate word.
"If you pull it out, I'm just as gone." she joked back, taking another handful of popcorn. "We don't have to be girly Anna, Talking with you is just fine. I'm pretty sure females of all species are social to survive, humans more so." She held back from becoming incredibly nerdy, there was so much more pointless scientific things she could bring up, but figured Anna could care less about the socialite behaviors of mammals.
When Anna brought up Luke, the smile escaped. She looked away for a minute, rubbing the back of her neck idly. "It might have something to do with that." Apparently them keeping it a secret had failed. It wasn't like they were running around all over each other, but they had eaten practically every meal together, shared their free time in the common room and above all else claimed the flightdeck as their special place. What probably gave it away, besides the constant looks they exchanged was one accidental kiss outside the flightdeck.A simple, goodnight kiss. It wasn't much, not hot and heavy or anything, but it had lasted considerably longer than three seconds.

Anna munched on the popcorn, taking a piece at the time, "the joys of being the chief tactical officer," she said with a nod, "I didn't think you'd miss me anyway." Now that they were really getting into this mission, there was a lot more for her to do, and quite a bit of that was paperwork - what a bore. It was never the fun side of a job. One of her most recent files was filling in a report about Private Willis and his latest stupid escapade. That idiot was going to get himself kicked off the ship if he wasn't careful.
"Mmmm, yeah, just talking, and eating unhealthily, of course," she tended to be a bit of a motor mouth when she'd had coffee anyway, so talking wouldn't be a problem. She smirked at Alliana when she started talking about humans having to be social to survive, "yeah, never mind drinking, eating and sleeping, we can just live off random chatting," she grinned, that sounded like a good idea.
"Stop acting all coy," Anna said, prodding Ally in the shoulder, "it's not like it's a terrible secret. You guys are adorable together. And I mean that with all sincerity." She stepped up the pace with the popcorn, eating a couple of pieces at a time, "are you two actually a couple? Or are you thriving on cuteness for now?"

"Of course I miss you. You're like my best friend here, if not ever.' She smiled warmly at Anna. She didn't exactly make friends easily, but Anna had somehow managed to get around that factor. it wasn't like they had multitudes in common, it was simply because they just..bonded. It was as if she could just open up and tell her anything, well, almost anything.
Ally chuckled in Anna's response to her food comment, but chose not to respond. She would rather just talk about Luke. She couldn't help but blush at Anna's words. Adorable was not a word she was used to being called, but, come to think of it, really didn't mind in this sort of situation. "I...wouldn't honestly know what contexts as a 'couple' but we spend a lot of time together, and I guess we aren't seeing other people. But then again, this is a ship, and we're sort of stuck with the same people." she joked, taking another handful of popcorn. "that and we've definitely kissed."

Anna beamed, "same goes for you," she replied, pushing the popcorn towards Alliana, she'd eaten too much already. It was nice having a best friend, just one great friend who would be there for you, someone to talk to, hopefully no drama. In a lot of ways, it was better than having a huge group of friends, all of whom you knew only a little, because then stories got spread all over the place, and chaos would usually ensue.
"I think you pretty much just described the context of a relationship," Anna said with a nod, "that, and being crazy about each other, that usually helps." She smirked, her devilish mind probably wouldn't ever stop winding them up about this. "Hey, I can imagine if you two were on this ship alone, neither of you would be complaining." She wanted to continue, but she didn't know how far she could tease Ally before she turned the colour of a beetroot. "Oooooh, kissing," Anna said, sounding like a five year old girl on a playground at school, "definite couple factor. Just kissing?"

Ally smiled, knowing the feeling or friendship was mutual. She was tired of being a loner, and she was glad Anna was willing to take a chance on being her friend. The sultry, dark haired girl who stayed to herself, friends with the smiling red head, friendly to everyone. It worked.
"I wouldn't say crazy but seeing each other usually makes our days." she smiled, trying not to blush like schoolgirl. "and I'd rather not think about what we would do if we ere on it alone." even though she already was. She could tell Anna was teasing and pulling for a little bit of juicy info, but ally really didn't mind, even if she blushed like mad. "Just Kissing Anna. Nothing else..well, maybe cuddling, but Nothing else trust me. And I mean they're not even really saucy passionate kisses. Just sweet..." Her mind reeled back to their first kiss, It was heavily romantic, sweet and perfect. It would have grown to more, considering their magnetic effect on each other, but they decided to just revel in saving the passion for later, when they were more serious. Love even. If it ever happened of course.

"Mmmhmmm," Anna hummed, picking up another couple of pieces of popcorn. She was beginning to think that the both of them hadn't realised exactly how they felt about each other. They didn't know the looks she'd seen them giving each other in the mess hall. It was like they didn't ever want to be apart. "Well, I'm glad that it does make your day," she said with a smile. She was a tad jealous at the same time, naturally, 'cause she'd never had anything like that. But she was 21, and had all the time in the world to find someone.
"He sounds like a real gentleman," Anna said with a nod, those were rare these days. "Holding the door open for you, pulling out your chair and everything like that," she said, with an almost teasing smile. She was lucky to have found that, and if anyone tried to snatch that away from Ally, she was pretty sure she would beat down on that person's arse. They would know the meaning of pain.

"He is a gentleman, and a sweetheart. " Ally agreed, rubbing the back of her neck a bit along the base of her ponytail, that she soon fiddled with and took down. Luke liked it down, liked to run his fingers through it. Must've been a guy thing. She tussled it a bit before turning her attention back to Anna. She could tell from the look in her eyes Anna wanted to find that certain someone, but at the same time, she was younger and had much more charm than Ally could ever ask for. She wouldn't have to wait too much longer, she was sure of it. Anna just had this quality about her, that ally was drawn to. maybe it was because naturally, they were pure opposites and she was fascinated by the idea of a friendship.
Ally gave a small chuckle, reaching for a few pieces of popcorn again. The salt was finally getting to her and making her throat dry. "Hey, I'm gonna grab a soda. What do you want?" She moved off her bed, motioning towards the small mini fridge hidden in the corner. She creaked it open, grabbing a rare vintage Dr. Pepper and popped the top.

"He is," Anna said, smiling across at Alliana. She could see that the woman was truly happy, and she was happy for her - seeing her friends happy gave her pleasure, and Ally was her friend, her best friend on this ship. Anna was happy enough to have just friends at the moment, she would bite back the 'lonely' feeling that was ebbing at her mind, it didn't matter, she was on an important mission with her friends. She'd already had an attempt on her life and much drama, that was enough to keep her occupied, that was for sure.
"Oh, please," Anna nodded, looking longingly at the mini fridge (she would have to pick one up next time they touched down), "got any coke in there?" The caffiene and sugar mix would probably keep her awake all night long, but she didn't really mind at this point - she only really had more paper work (so to speak) to do tomorrow.
Once she had her Coke, she leant back against the wall of the ship, pulling open the top of the bottle with one swift movement. She might not have looked it, but she was strong, and packed a punch that could rival most of the male officers in this place - it was just hidden by the fact that she was so tall and lanky. "Sooooo..." she said, conjuring up another topic of conversation, "I never actually asked this before, but what's it like in the magical land of Aus? It's somewhere I've never been."

Ally grabbed a bottle of Coke and tossed it, within lose proximity of course, to Anna. She plopped back into her bed, resting her back against the wall. She watched as Anna twisted the cap off herself, obviously stronger than she looked. Ally was no weakling. She was a few body cells shy of a six-pack, but it sort of happened more naturally than she could do anything about. Half of it was high metabolism, the other was her pretty active lifestyle.
When Anna asked about Australia, it sort of caught her off guard for a moment. No one had really asked her about it before, so it took a moment for her to collect her thoughts. Ally looked down at her sole Opal ring and then turned back to answer. "It...it's hot. All the season's are flipped, so we have Christmas during the summer. The beaches are absolutely amazing. You'd probably love it there, really." she smiled, taking another sip of her Dr. Pepper. "What about you? What's home like where you're from?" Ally used it as an excuse. In truth, she really had no home, not since her parents disowned her. They found out she might be a terrorist and they severed all ties with her. It had been a long road to happiness, but she felt like joining the Venia, was just what she needed.

It had always amused Anna that she'd spent Christmas huddled by the nearest heater in about ten layers of jumpers, whereas Ally and the other Aussies spent their Christmas on the beach, barbecuing and having fun. If they tried that in the UK, they'd end up with icicles for burgers.
"Ahhh, Scotland," Anna said with an over-exaggerated version of her accent, "well, you rarely see the sunshine for rain, that's why we're all pasty," she smirked, "and even though Glasgow and Edinburgh merged into one large city long ago, there are still some beautiful upland areas in Scotland, mountains and such." She could recall the many times she'd gone on hiking trips with her school into those mountains in order to get away from home. "A bit different to your home." Truth was, Scotland was home, but it also sort of wasn't any more. It had been the only home she'd known for a long while, but now, home was where her friends were, and right now, that was the Venia.

"It sounds beautiful." Ally replied, pulling her knees up to her chest. "I've never seen mountains before....or hilly, green valleys. " her voice fell a little, but not to a noticeable degree. Ally hadn't really seen much of the world. Despite being in the military, she was kicked out before she could finish basic training. An adventurous life was cut short for her, but Life on the Venia, certainly had it's own sort of adventures.
"So...what were you doing up so late? Don't you usually crash early?" she asked curiously, placing a few loose curls behind her ear. Ally's own sleep schedule was skewed because she spent so many nights with Luke. He was always worth the lack of sleep though, most of the time he made up for her bad days in the lab. There were a few other scientists who disliked her and she always felt te blunt force of rejection. Night with Luke, easily made up for it.
