At first, Anna couldn't understand why Ally hadn't see mountains or valleys, but then she thought that Australia didn't exactly have a lush terrain, and if she'd worked as a scientist after that, she might not have got the chance to travel a lot. In truth though, Anna didn't know that much about Ally. And yet, she trusted her. Maybe it was because Ally had helped keep her alive at the embassy when she'd been badly wounded. It automatically meant Anna owed her one.
"I do, that's true," Anna said, "but I'm busy during the day, and I can't catch you at any other time." Because by the time Anna was done with work, Ally was already with Luke. Then when she was done, she went to bed, and Anna was already fast asleep. "So, I figured, why not scare the crap out of you, feed you popcorn, and have a chat?" A night of practically no sleep wasn't going to hurt her, and it stopped her from having dreams if she just crashed, exhausted, into bed.

Ally smirked in agreement. "Yeah, both of us are so incredibly busy." She gave a small sigh and dug her hand into the popcorn bowl again. I know I've been busy. With work..Luke and everything else. I apologize for not putting you into my schedule." Ally chewed her bottom lip for a moment, contemplating how to form her words. "You're my...my best friend. and you deserve just as much of my time as Luke does." She would've said work, but it wasn't something so close to her heart as Luke was.
She gave a faint smile, and pulled, now forced rather, Anna in for a real hug. Not a half hug, or a shoulder pat. All wrapped her arms around Anna's shoulders and buried her face into her flame red hair. It was soft, and soothing, calming even. Why hadn't she done this before? She wasn't physical with people, other than Luke of course, but this hugging thing was really..really nice. Ally smiled, deep from her heart.

Anna nodded, that was the truth. Finding time, even to just herself, was difficult on this mission. Trips to the gym at midnight before sleep weren't uncommon. "Oh," Anna hadn't meant to guilt trip Ally or anything, she understood that she and Luke had something special. "It's totally fine, I didn't mean..."
Ally pulled Anna in for a hug, and after a moment, Anna hugged her back. She hadn't expected that at all, as Ally wasn't really the touchy feely type, but it was a nice surprise. Anna didn't get any hugs now that she was on board, and it had taken a while for her to realise, but she missed them. They were so comforting, a hug could comfort you even in the darkest times. She closed her eyes, just holding Ally. This was nice.
