Katy plastered her ear up against her door. Were those footsteps coming, or leaving? As they passed her door, she stayed still as a stone, until they audibly turned the corner and were out of sight. Nervously opening the door, she peeked around, checking for anyone that was still awake this time of night. No one. Her fuzzy slippers making almost no sound compared to boots, she snuck down the hall, and stealthily entered a lift, going to the bottom level. As she waited, she leaned her head against the wall, closing her eyes. Normally, she wouldn't be up at- she checked her watch blearily- two in the morning. However, high levels of caffeine and boredom had shoved her usual pass-out time off a cliff. So, she had decided to do something completely and utterly redundant. She was going to look for some real food. She sighed as she padded out of the lift. Like that was ever going to happen. The government had installed those food-machines which never made any real food, and didn't see the need for anything else. So, they were left to gnaw on hard-tack, which didn't even taste like hard-tack. What a rip-off. Tip-toeing down the hall, she stopped. It seems they had activated a new room here. What was that about? Looking around, she creaked the door open. It was pitch-black, though Katy could make out some rough shapes. They looked like appliances, funnily enough. Was that a frying pan hanging from the ceiling? She couldn't tell. Wait... A fridge! Yes! An actual fridge, with the possibility of food being in there! She trotted over gleefully. She threw open the door, light spilling out, illuminating a human figure. Startled, she shrieked, grabbing the nearest thing she could find-- a toaster. "Who are you?" she growled, shaking the toaster menacingly.

With a cheeky grin, Ally leaned down to give Luke a soft kiss goodnight. She gave another sleepy smile and locked the door behind her, scuffling back to her room. She gave a great stretch stifling a yawn as she rubbed her drooping eyes with the blunt on her palms. It helped that someone had traded shifts with her; she planned on sleeping off the afternoon.
After fighting with the door, it finally compressed with a hiss and let her inside it's chambers. She shrugged off her sweaty clothes and slipped into a far from decent teal tank and some shorts, finally retreating to the comfort of her bed- or would be comfort. She tossed and turned, grunting and groaning here and there. With a heavy, irritated sigh, she kicked off the light sheet. Damn her broken AC. Her room was far too hot, even in space. Ally swung her legs over, pushing herself off the bed and set her wild curls to her right shoulder. Maybe a glass of milk would help, perhaps some cookies if the stupid machine could be quiet.
She fumbled with the door again and made her padded barefoot way toward the kitchen. No one was expected to be up at this hour, so she cared little for her lack of decency or how much of a mess she looked. A few more steps and she let out a big yawn, rubbing the back of her neck.
She was about the reach for the fridge when it appeared someone had beat her to it. Wait... Fridge? When did they get one of those? The figure digging for something then turned, and grabbed the closest thing to beat her senseless with. Ally put her hands up in defense and tried to calm whoever seemed threatened. "Whoah, it's just me mate. I wanted some milk and cookies." she started in her outlandishly thick Aussie accent. " just up for a bite... No worries." she tried again, hoping they weren't psychotically sleep walking.
((Sorry it took so long, our internets been rather sketchy lately. Hope it works for you.))

((Ack, know what you mean about interwebs. Not the most reliable thing. It works fine!))
Katy sighed as Alliana's face came into view in the fridge's light, relaxing considerably. "Whoo... Sorry 'bout that," she grinned, setting the toaster back down. "Thought I was in a bad horror movie remake for a second there. You're very soft-footed, by the way." Being in her PJ's, she could understand, though. Nightclothes tended to be much sneakier than regular day attire, for some reason. Easier to sneak around the kitchen, probably.
She grinned happily as Alliana mentioned milk and cookies. "You know, that sounds like a wonderful idea! Milk and cookies, one in the morning, counter in the kitchen in our pyjamas! If you don't mind me joining you, that is. Here--" She dug into the fridge again. "Milk," she grinned, pulling out a carton. "Now we just need some cookies." She looked behind various insundry objects in the fridge, finding nothing.
"Hmmm... Nothing in here," she commented to Alliana. "Do you suppose they might be stashed in a cupboard, or are they all out?"

Ally gave a short chuckle, realizing it was just Katy, tussling her wild bed head again. "Oh..uh..thanks. I've always been light on my feet I guess." she shrugged, pulling the fridge door to look inside, just out of curiosity. Sure enough it was full fridge. Real, with real food! She closed the door, realizing Katy was in for her idea of the snack as well. She hadn't spoken too much with katy, in fact she had figured Katy probably didn't like her too well. She looked like a total punk anyway. Black hair, tattoos, and a pierced nose. To some she looked pretty shady. And with good reason. She was changing her outlook and trying to erase her past or being a criminal. but it was easier said than done. Good thing was Katy didn't know.
Ally nodded silently as Katy invited herself. She still wasn't sure how to strike up conversation with her. "Is...is there some cookie dough in the freezer?" she asked a bit cautiously, unsure of how her kitchen comrade would view her. "that or we could see if the machine feels like being quiet tonight." she half chuckled, rubbing the back of her neck again ass she watched Katy search.

Katy snickered at Ally's light-footed comment. "What I wouldn't wish to have that," she remarked cynically. "You can hear me coming from a mile away, if I'm in the right shoes." Her boots were lovely, soft yet durable, but they weren't made for sneaking. Very solid heels, never good on tile. Or those new-fangled glass floors in some of the UGAP buildings. Glass? Really? "Broke a glass floor once trying to be sneaky," she muttered, jumping up and down repeatedly to try and look in the top cupboards. "Ruined my plan somewhat." After seeing no cookies, she stopped rattling the floor.
She shrugged to Alliana, a quirky smile on her face. "Might as well get the least-likely options out of the way," she quipped, wandering over to the machine. She tapped the wake-up button gently. It turned on relatively quietly, apart from the glaring lights. She groaned, her pupils hastily dilating, and shut it down. "Eh... Try that one in a few minutes, maybe," she commented, blinking rapidly. Ow.

Ally chuckled at how amusing Katy was turning out to be. She would trust her, if she didn't work for the UGA. No telling what sort of trouble would occur is she got a good glance at her at just the right angle. Of course, there lingered that small chance that she hadn't been briefed in that area. That was Ally's little sliver of hope.
With a small sigh, she opened the fridge once more, craning her neck to look into the freezer. "Aha.." she sudden;y called out, reaching into the cold depths of the freezer. Ally pulled out a roll of chocolate chip cookie dough and tossed them at Katy. "How's that for late night snack." She then made her way to the oven and flicked it on, sliding into the barstool around the island.

Katy had thought all hope had been lost just before Ally sent a tube of frozen cookies flying at her. With a grin, she snagged them, reading the package.
"Authentic Cookie Dough, Made From Non-Synthesized Ingredients," she read aloud. "Aw, dude, you just hit the jackpot..." Whistling in happiness, she grabbed a cookie sheet from the depths of a drawer, and proceeded to place the cookies just so, as to avoid sticking together.
Now, what tune to whistle? Deciding on Sinatra, she shuffled over to the oven, conveniently turned on by Ally, and slid the pan in. "Now, we just have to wait..." She skittered over to the package, and rotated it until she found the time. "... Twenty minutes. Sounds about right, I think." Setting the wrapper back down, she grabbed a stool of her own, and plopped down near Ally. "This is kinda giving me deja vu," she muttered, after a moment of staring around at her surroundings. "Something seems familiar... Maybe just the smell of real food," she chuckled. "That's very plausible."

No wonder people enjoyed Katy's presence. She was literally a box of fun, although Ally wouldn't readily admit it. With the cookies setting in the over, she gave a small sigh, drumming her fingertips on the table. "Twenty minutes..." she repeated softly, turning her head slightly, just so Katy couldn't get a full view of her face. Not that she wasn't nervous...no..of course not. She blew off her actions as if they were natural, messing with her hair, scratching her nose, etc.
"Deja vu eh?...Like...like what..." her comment caught Ally slightly off guard. It seemed a bit strange of a conversation to spark out over cookies. Could Katy have really been missing comfort food that much? Each to their own. Ally gave another small sigh of thought, drumming her fingertips, no..fingernails now. Her mind was probably reeling in pointless thoughts, that wouldn't matter worth a damn anyway. She was just...restless and slightly terrified of what may happen. But she was just overreacting...right?

Katy pursed her lips, drumming her feet ever-so-quietly. "I'm not quite sure..." she mused to Ally. "It's just like I've seen this all before. You know, I know there's a set of cupboards with three panels each to my right, the dial on the oven is almost twisted all the way around, your shirt is blue-ish, and I'm letting my slippers fall off now." She did indeed, watching the right one tumble on top of the left. "Like, I've experienced all this before-- this is all familiar."
She studied her feet for a while, seeing if she knew what they looked like. Right down to the detail. "We haven't met before, have we?" she asked off-handedly, just in case. "Or is there some kind of science-y explanation for all this? Science-y stuff was never my area of expertise."
