Hollie rolled her eyes, trying to pry the guy off her; unfortunately he was like twice her weight. "Chill out," she told the guy, "and get the hell off me." Breaking his grip, he rolled onto the floor, wrapping his arms tightly around himself, as Hollie picked herself up and dusted herself down. She knew their situation was dire, but they didn't need people losing it like that, it was just going to make everyone else ten times worse, more frightened, and probably more pessimistic too. They'd needed to believe they'd get out, then they stood a chance.
Scampering over to Ally, slipping and sliding on the icy floor, seeing both of the team members in... well, their condition looked... terrible. "What do you want me to do?" she asked, brushing her bangs out of her eyes. "Tell me what to do, and I'll do it." She didn't have any first aid training or anything, but she was good with her hands, and she would help in anyway that she could.

Ally pulled her scarf from around her neck and bent down to one of the members. He was freaking out, but even that seemed like an understatement. His leg was crushed by a large rock and probably broken. By the amount of blood pooling around him, an artery must've been hit. "Ok..Hollie, on 3 I'm gonna need you to help me push this rock off. OK?" Ally pushed with Hollie and the rock rolled away. Sure enough, the damage was severe/ Upon seeing his leg, the member only screamed more frantically. Ally snapped. "Shut up, just the hell up ok? Screaming isn't helping anyone. Now, calm down!"
She pulled him back a little, free form the debree and used her scarf to tie his leg tightly to keep the blood from flowing. "I'm sorry it hurts. But this'll keep the flow down so you don't bleed out." Ally turned to Hollie, whispering lightly. "Watch him and keep him calm why I check the other." She slid on her boots towards the other member where her fears were confirmed. She knelt down to check his pulse and shook her head sadly. Dead. Great, just what they needed. With a heavy sigh, she slid far form gracefully back towards Hollie.

As much as she hated it, all Eva could do was sit there and watch as Ally scrambled over to tend to the others with Hollie, trying to calm down those who'd made it and checking them for injuries. After a moment, the telepath set about doing as Ally had instructed and tugged a scarf free from her coat pocket, packing ice and snow against her ankle, then wrapping it up snugly. At first it was cold enough that it stung, but with time the pain ebbed into a dull numbness which was, in the long run, far easier to handle.
Determinedly getting to her feet (mostly because the ground was freezing her arse off), Eva hobbled over to a large boulder of snow and leaned against it, feeling around in her pockets for her comm. A curse hissed between her teeth upon discovering that it was missing. Great. So, they were trapped in a cavern with a temperature that was probably dropping by the minute, a limited supply of oxygen, and no way to communicate with those back on the Venia to let them know that there were survivors. This day just kept getting better and better.
Grumbling to herself in frustration, she turned and half-limped, half-hopped over to where Ally and Hollie were conversing quietly. "All right, well, this is officially a FUBAR situation." Glancing around at the damage the incident had caused, she sighed heavily. There was no way the three of them would be able to calm everyone down--once someone was in a state of panic, it took a lot more than soothing words to bring them back--and she doubted that they had the equipment needed to heal everyone. Even so, it didn't seem like they had much of a choice. What could the three of them do alone?
Turning her eyes back on Ally and Hollie, Eva asked, "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Bundled up in his gear, his thermal unit now turned on, all Sam could do was fold his arms across his now padded chest and watch. Not without dancing about nervously, wondering just how long this was going to take. After all, with every moment that passed, the girls' chances of surviving this lessened, and the thought of losing Eva now just... She'll be fine, Sam. She'll be in your arms soon enough. And once she was, he probably wasn't letting go for a good hour at least, not even a medical team would be able to pry his hand from hers, nope, no.
Blinking once, he turned at the sound of Gordon's voice, realising that he'd asked him a question. "What? Oh, no. Half Ilosian," he answered simply. Now that the secret was out, there wasn't any point in hiding anything. "You really think the government would spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on making me biotic, then put me in the kitchen? Ha." The biotic chef, whisking eggs at near a hundred miles per hour. Sounded like a cheesy TV show, or an even worse film. "No, just, part alien. Ilosians can have various powers, although, so far as I've read, no one has any quite like mine." Maybe it was something to do with him being half and half. He barely had to think and he could make objects move.
"I take it that's what you are then, biotic?" It sounded like a vitamin drink. Sam had never really interacted with Gordon, all he knew about the man he heard from Izzie, who obviously had a slightly skewed view, being in love with him and all. He was distracted by Harper drilling through the rock with the laser. He frowned, "is that such a good idea?" He knew he was just supposed to stay out of the way and follow orders, but he was the only one out here with someone, well, more than one person, he cared about stuck under all that rock. "Couldn't the vibrations from the laser cause a..."
He'd tempted fate. God damn it, he had. The ground shook violently beneath them, and Sam barely stayed on his feet, his body automatically cushioning whatever fall to the ground there was with a field that kept him upright. The harrowing sound of more rock falling sounded from beneath them, and Sam could feel the look of horror on his face as he looked to Gordon. "We..." he swallowed a couple of times, trying to find his voice, "we, and I mean we, you and me, need to get them out. No more drilling just digging, piece by piece. I don't want... I can't..." Breathe, Sam, breathe.

"Harper, status!" "Waddya think it is?!" "Briggs?" "Thermal sigs disappeared for a few secs, but they're back up, fainter now." "How much farther down are they?" "They aren't farther down, G. There's more rock on top of them." Gordon grunted, knowing that the laser wouldn't do any more good. "Harper, stop the digging and update Cap. Sam and I will take it from here." Sam, while not having much tactical experience, had common sense. The drill, as Cap predicted, upset the already unstable planetary surface and things weren't looking very promising. They would dig...the ol fashioned way.
Gordon could practically feel the fear coming off of Sam in waves. He couldn't have Sam unstable for this process, so Gordon walked over to him and put his hands on the chef's shoulders, telling him: "Get your ears up and listen to me, now. I know you got your girl down there and I know you want her back, but I don't want your mind jabberin on about you ain't gonna have her. You buckle down, we dig, we leave happy, you got that? Now come on, I'll get us started."
Gordon managed to clear away some major chunks of rock before he felt the nanomachines within him begin to falter and wear out sooner than usual. Probably due to the weight of the debris he was moving. Either way, he needed to take a breather. "Alright Sammy, you're up. Stay steady."

Hollie nodded, briefly watching Ally as she went to assess the other person's condition, before turning back to the person with the scarf tourniquet on his leg. This was a shambles, completely and utterly. Crouching down, she held the man's shoulder gently, massaging it with her hand in an effort to keep him calm. "It's ok," she told him quietly, "you're going to be okay." She would have sung something relaxing, but nothing sprung to mind, no songs at all. The fear was beginning to ebb at her brain, the doubts, what if they didn't get out of here? What if she never saw her parents again? Or any of her friends.
Hearing Eva speak, Hollie opened her mouth to say something, but whatever had been about to leave her lips was drowned out by a loud rumbling, more rocks plummeting from the ceiling. All she could do was throw herself to the ground, her hands over her already pounding head. A blood curdling scream resonated from somewhere nearby as the rocks settled, and she felt tears leak from her eyes as she could begin to imagine who that had come from and why. Lifting up her head slightly, in the dim light of the torch, which luckily hadn't been flattened by the rock slide, she saw the man who's shoulder she'd been holding staring at her with wide, gaunt eyes. The rocks had flattened his body completely, he was gone.
Swallowing hard, her voice came out as a whimper, "E-Eva? Ally?" She sniffed loudly, "are you guys okay?" Please, dear God, please may they be okay.

Ally watched Hollie's gentle nature take control and she almost felt a glimmer of hope. The man seemed to be calming down a little, which took it's effect on her as well. She stood tall , running her fingers through her now tangled hair. Ally scratched at her scalp a moment, dragging her fingers slowly down her face. How the hell were they going to get out of this? Thankfully things couldn't get any worse.
"Im good...yeah..Hollie...Hollie's helped. Check the other bags to see if someone else has a flashlight, so we can save battery life."Ally breathed deep again, trying to collect her thoughts. Her head twinged again, stinging lightly. She pressed a hand lightly to the back of her head. Yup, still bleeding. She'd get over it. It stung, but she could definitely manage.
She spoke too soon, and things got worse, tragically worse. "Oh god..." was all she managed to breathe as everything suddenly fell apart, literally. The rocks crumbled down upon them and an unforgettable scream echoed throughout the cave. Ally was knocked to her feet and for a moment, everything was black and fuzzy, her ears were ringing and she felt numb all over. She lay there for a moment, waiting for her body to slowly respond. And slow it was. After about 5 minutes, Ally rolled over onto her back and stared up at the blurry celling above her. "I...I'm fine..." she choked out into the eerie silence. "Fine..." But she was far from being alright.

Hollie's thoughts echoed in Eva's head as she stumbled over to where one of the other packs had wound up, scooping it up and rifling through in search of a light. These fears were anything but helpful. What if we really can't get out of here? No, think positive--pondering our chances won't help. But... what if I never see Sam again? Her heart fluttered frantically as she tried to remember the last thing she'd said to him; she couldn't. Had she told him she loved him today? Would she get the chance to? You're supposed to be trying to think positive, Eva! That's not positive!
Drawing in a steadying breath and letting it out slowly, she went about rummaging through the pack again. When her fingers scraped over a metallic surface, she tugged it free quickly and smiled to herself a little. At least something, even as small as it was, had gone right. She made to shuffle back over to the Ally and Hollie, but before she could take more than half a step, the world around them started shaking again. Somehow, she managed to flatten herself against the wall just in time to avoid being struck down by the falling snow, her body locking in place as an ear-splitting scream rang out through the cavern.
For a long moment after the chaos subsided, all Eva could do was stand there, staring in shock at the rug of white spread out in front of her. She barely noticed the way her cheek was stinging in a frail attempt to alert her to the fact that it had been cut by a stray shard of ice. Her attention was focused on the spot where the others had been. Only when her eyes adjusted and she was able to see that Hollie, at least, was still breathing, was she able to breathe normally once more herself. At the other blonde's question, Ally's voice rose up, proving that she, too, was no worse for wear.
"Define 'okay'," Eva murmured, flicking on the light in her hand. It didn't help much, and she squinted through the gloom in the hopes of finding something even remotely helpful. "Are the others..." She swallowed and pulled herself together, adamant not to let the situation rattle her until it was over. "Can you tell if anyone else made it?"

Sam did his best to steel himself against his emotions. He thought he'd grown stronger in the past year, but it turned out that when Eva was in danger, and he didn't know whether she was safe, his body threatened to turn into a gibbering wreck. Gordon tried to shake some sense into him, and for the most part, it did help. He had to focus his attention on getting the girls out. After all, he'd just said that he and Gordon were the only ones that could do this now. Everything rested on them and their abilities.
Gordon tired after a good twenty minutes or so of shifty huge pieces of debris, Sam standing back, itching to help. Once Gordon was out of the way, he took up his place, his eyes following the chucks of rock as they eased out of pile and safely out of the way. He could be as clumsy as anything with his hands sometimes, but when it came to his powers... he would use them more often, but that would probably ruin the goofy illusion he had painted of himself. The determined young man was the one standing here now, helping to save the day. The childish boy was saving himself for later.
"How close are we now?" he asked Briggs as another huge block soared over their heads, throwing up a little snow dust as it was laid down about twenty feet or so away. "Sigs getting stronger, only registering three now." Three? Oh please God, let that be Eva, Hollie and Ally.
Luke was pacing. Back and forth. Back and forth. Practically wearing holes in the floor. The Captain had stayed in the flight deck for a while after Gordon and Sam left, but he could only take so much of Luke's nervous energy, him tapping his foot in his chair, before he had to retreat to his office, asking Luke to report any news to him as soon as he got it. Luke had been out of his chair the moment the Captain was gone, having to do something to prevent himself from going crazy with worry. Not that pacing was going to stop that, but still.
He hated how situations like these tended to throw everything into perspective. He and Ally had been going steady, still not really talking all that much, because, well, it was going to take a long time for that wound to heal. But now Luke felt like someone had just poured salt into it, and he wanted to howl in pain, but he couldn't. And for the life of him, he couldn't wash the salt out. In fact, the longer Ally was trapped down there, the worse it felt. He needed to know that she was going to be okay, so damn desperately, that when she got out, he was pretty sure he was going to throw all his feelings this past year to wayside, take her up into his arms, and make up for what they had lost like there was no tomorrow.
But she had to be freed first.

(Nice and salty reference, Ms.Thomas XD)
"Briggs, you ain't lyin to us now, are ya?" "You think I got the guts to lie in this scenario?" "Point taken." Gordon had been admittedly antsy ever since he had stopped lifting the debris, partly because he was worried that they would been buried even FURTHER and that this would become a lost cause. He had lost a lot of people in his time as a tac officer, but they were soldiers who had prepared themselves for the possibility of death in the line of duty. Other than Eva, there were two civvies down there that he could be responsible for.
The thought caused him to shudder slightly.
"G, take a look at this." Harper transmitted his own visual data to Gordon's display, the biotic now able to see what Harper was seeing. Harper was standing a few hundred feet away, looking at the snow covered hills in the distance. "What is i..." Then Gordon saw it. There were thermal signatures about half a mile away, coming towards them fast. The heads up display identified five, each toting what looked like the outline of a plasma rifle.
The first thought was local raiders coming to see what all the noise was about on this side of the planet. Gordon knew that those cats were usually well-armed because of all the salvage they managed to scrap together into decent weaponry. But this was Tyron, a planet that wasn't exactly thriving in terms of civilization. So then the second possibility was...
"It's a trap, isn't it? This whole thing, G. It was a set up." "Don't jump the gun, Harpy. Get your rifle out and scout those plasma shakers nice and easy." "If they fire?" "Return the favor." Gordon walked over to Sam and put a hand on his shoulder. Then, over the comm system, Gordon relayed into Sam's frequency before telling him: "Hey Sammy, things might be gettin hot under the collar around here. Just keep on jivin till I tell you to lay low. Briggs, get his back." "You got it." "Stay cool, Sammy. Just stay cool." Gordon found it slightly amusing that he was the one telling someone else to calm down. Of course, he had his baby to thank for that gem.
"G, closin in. Looks like...they got some crazy jumpsuits on. Orange and black? You don't think..." "I do. That's Tiger fist, no doubt. Make sure they don't get too close." "Tiger fist?" Briggs muttered a curse under his breath as Harper steadied his sniper rifle, squeezing off two charges. "Nailed one." Just as Harper finished his brief report, plasma bolts began to whiz through the air. "GET YOUR HEAD DOWN! NOW!"

Ally can barely see, let alone check to see if anyone else was around. Based on the scream, she guessed that someone had died. Great..another death. She wasn't even sure if anyone else was still alive now, other than Hollie and Eva. Ally was still on the floor, motionless, but only because she was starting to fear what was wrong with her.
With a pained groan, she eventually pushed herself up to sit on her elbows. The pain came rushing in like an angry ocean, drowning her with lightheadedness and a dizzy feeling. It hurt....a lot. One move too quickly sent the pain skyrocketing. It felt like a headache from hell. Clenching her jaw, she opted for laying back down to collect her energy. Things were slowly falling into perspective. was she going to die here? Were Hollie and Eva going to make it without her? Internally, she tried not to freak out or choke out her fear, but every second seemed worse than the first. She had lied. She was so very far from okay.
The questions continued to pool in. Would she ever get to see Luke again? If she managed to somehow survive this, she would throw her arms around his neck and never let go. Would they ever get close to that glimpse of the future together? A Future with Luke was the only one that mattered. He was her whole life, and this moment was putting it all into reality.
With a heavy sigh, she pushed slowly up on her elbows again, shaking all the way. The time for lying was over. "E....ev..Eva...I hit my head.....I think something's wrong..." She managed to breathe slowly, searching the blurry darkness for her.

Eva looked around again, feeling a poignant sense of hopelessness wash over her. The science team was gone, taken in one fell swoop. Now only the three of them remained--and who knew how long they'd make it, battered and beaten as they were? Would Ally ever get to reconcile with Luke? Would Hollie ever see her parents again? Sam... His name alone made her heart ache, and she closed her eyes for a moment, sending up a silent prayer that he'd be all right; even if she wouldn't. Oh, Sammy, I'm so sorry.
That was when she heard Ally groan. Ignoring the pain in her ankle, Eva climbed over the loose rocks of snow and scuffled around to where Hollie was standing. From there, she had to resort to blindly following Ally's aura until the dim glow of her flashlight fell on the science officer's shaking form. She hobbled over to where Ally lay and knelt down next to her, her own brow creased in worry. The woman was barely able to keep herself up, from the looks of things, and she seemed pretty close to passing out.
At her explanation, Eva frowned. That didn't sound good in the slightest. Not just what Ally had said, but how she'd said it--the words jarring and slightly slurred. Concussion, maybe? That was just what they needed. "Sh," Eva instructed, gently pushing her back down, "Don't strain yourself. Just focus on staying awake, okay? Whatever you do, do not fall asleep. You hear me?" Seating herself on the cold ground, she waved Hollie over and patted the ground next to her. If nothing else, it'd be warmer close together like this. After all, there was nothing they could do now but wait.

"Oh for Pete's sake." Whoever the hell Pete was.
Like they needed something else to go wrong. Sam could feel his body tensing, adrenaline beginning to run through his veins. The fear was being replaced by annoyance, but he was also becoming more alert, he had to be, what with these people coming in to attack. And what was with the name, Tiger Fist? Wearing orange and black jumpsuits? Come on. If he ever told anyone about any of this, they probably wouldn't believe him. They'd probably think he'd got high off fumes in the kitchen and gone crazy.
Continuing the heavy lifting like Gordon instructed, he heard the man yell for him to get down, but he didn't. He was fed up. All he wanted was Eva, safe and in his arms. And these guys weren't allowing him to save her. So, instead of following orders like he would have done had he not been peeved, he brought the next large piece of debris up, slamming it into two of the ridiculous looking bad guys. They wouldn't be causing them any more trouble. A plasma bolt whizzed past a little too close for comfort, so he did what he should have done in the first place, hitting the deck, only to find himself facing the large hole he and Gordon had created, a dark opening at the bottom.
"We broke through!" he shouted to the other guys over his comms, pounding his fists against the snow, "we broke through."

Ally choked in pain, gritting her teeth all the way. This was a whole new sort of pain and she was fighting hard to deal with it. Sure unfortunate events had brought her close to death before, but it had also weakened her as a whole. Head pain was anything but tolerable. Ally groaned rather loudly through her clenched teeth, squeezing Eva's hand all the tighter."Unnghh god it hurts." she whimpered lightly as Eva pushed her down again.
"I don't want to die...Eva..I don't want to die. Don't let me die..please." Her pupils widened, staring to at the cold, rocky ceiling above. She almost pictured them crashing down and killing them all, flattening them like the other poor guy. No, that was too much. She had to try to stay positive. Damn it hurt. "Why...why can't I sleep Eva? It hurts..ugh shit I just want to close my eyes. " It would probably be some textbook answer like she'd most likely died if she tried. The question now felt foolish slipping through her lips. Her attention turned back to the ceiling after hearing a low moan from the rocks above and a small rumble. Something was happening...hopefully, it was rescue, rather than a sealed fate. "Please don't let me die Eva.."

Gordon was about to chide Sam for not listening when he saw the debris wallop two of the thugs, sending them back a good hundred feet or so, their bodies lying still on the snow covered ground. He could only smile as Harper finished the band off with a well timed plasma charge from his rifle. Gordon would sift through the bodies in a sec...
We broke through?!
Gordon ran over to the hole, seeing that it was barely big enough for a child to fit through. He threw away some minor debris to create a bigger hole, the biotic activating night vision on his heads up display in order to see...
Bodies.
There were bodies...everywhere. Only the three women remained, all of whom looked hurt, scared, morbidly terrified, all those phrases that one could think of to encompass feelings that are experienced through such a traumatic event. "Hang on, ladies. We're gettin ya out of there. Briggs?" "Got it." Briggs handed Gordon a cable which he threw down, said cable attached to a small device that would act as a pulley to get the women out of there. "Get you a grip on the rope and we'll get you out of there."
