Hollie was lying on the ground, trying to get it together. That last rock slide had shaken her up quite a bit, especially the scream, and opening her eyes to see the dead body beside her. She had never seen a dead body before and it was... haunting. Closing her eyes again, she'd tried to collect her thoughts together into something coherent and positive. You're fine. You're still alive. He's coming for us, Dad wouldn't let us die in here. We'll be fine. A deep breath, and she opened her eyes again, her ears picking up on the passing of words between Eva and Ally - it didn't sound good.
She was about to stand and make her way over when she heard a loud rumble, then part of the makeshift ceiling came away, light beaming down into the cavern. Shielding her eyes, her heart almost jumped for joy when she heard Gordon's voice. "Oh, thank God." His next command, however, wasn't so easy to achieve, not if Ally had a concussion. It would be best to get her out first. "Eva, help me get this cable tied around Ally's waist." The two women managed to do so, the cable spreading her weight out across her body, so it didn't hurt her on the way up. Once Ally was out, Hollie looked to Eva. "You next." She needed someone to take care of that ankle, and, knowing Sam, he was probably up there waiting for her, pacing through the snow.

"You're not going to die," Eva promised Ally in what she hoped was a reassuring tone, "We're going to get out of here before anything like that can happen." I hope. At the following question, Eva opened her mouth to spew some comforting lie, but then changed her mind before any words came out. Why sugar coat it? She needed to know the truth. "I think you might have a concussion. Since I can't assess the damage, I'm not sure how bad it is, but if it's really bad, there's a chance you'll slip into a coma if you fall asleep. So it's probably better if you stay awake, okay? I'll help you."
Giving Ally's hand a squeeze, Eva brushed her hair away from her face for her and made to glance back at Hollie again just as part of the ceiling caved. The sunlight that poured into the cavern was blinding, and she was so caught up in shielding Ally from the light so it didn't cause her more pain that she almost didn't hear Sam's voice. What was he doing out here?! The answer came to her almost instantaneously. He came for you, stupid. Hollie caught her attention before she could dwell on it for too long, and at her words, she nodded. Together they managed to hook Ally up, and in no time the dark-haired woman had been pulled up to safety. Eva hoped she would be all right.
"You next."
Nodding, Eva gave Hollie's shoulder a quick squeeze before fastening the cable around her own waist and starting what seemed to be the endless lift to the surface. No sooner had she scrambled out onto the snow than her eyes fell on Sam. Once she was unhooked from the rope she shuffled over to him, completely disregarding her ankle, and flung her arms around his neck, stealing a quick kiss before burrowing her face against his chest. She didn't say anything; she didn't feel the need to. All she wanted was to hold him and never let go--at the very least, not anytime soon.

Sam bounced onto his feet, practically burrowing into the snow as he bopped nervously, waiting as each of the ladies were lifted out of the hole. Ally came first with an awfully nasty bump to the head, so she was taken off back to the ship straight away on a stretcher, one of the men attempting to make sure that she stayed awake the whole way. Sam heard Hollie's voice echo up from the cavern below, saying 'you next'. Eva. [/b] As soon as he saw her blonde head crest the entrance to the cavern, his love alive and in one piece, his heart almost failed him out of relief. She limped hapazardly, one of her legs obviously giving her grief in some way, straight into his arms. He held her as tightly as he dared, resting his head atop of hers as they just stood there, both of them glad that Eva was alive, and that they were together again. Those had been the scariest hours of his life, and he never, ever wanted to experience anything like that ever again. She was silent, and so was he, unable to find the words to express just how happy he was right at that moment that she was alive. Raising his head slightly, he saw that Hollie was now safely back on solid ground, blood trickling down the left side of her head, but Gordon seemed to be checking her over. Kissing Eva on the top of the head, he bent his knees a little in order to scoop the woman into his arms, then began the walk back to the ship, whispering to her, "I love you so much."~ Fin ~ [/blockquote]
