It was a fairly normal day on board the Venia, except for the dignitaries that were supposed to be visiting. Luke had set the ship in orbit around Earth, the dignitaries were coming in by shuttle, docking in the hangar bay where they would be met by someone, most likely the Captain, who would show them around. All Luke had to do was park his bum in the flight deck and give them a bit of a tour of his console and tell them about his job when they got here. Didn't mean he couldn't have a visitor until they got here.
Ally was sitting across from him, looking gorgeous as always. He was doing his best to keep his hands off her as the dignitaries could walk in at any moment. The first sight they saw of him would not be him with his hands all over his girlfriend. Everyone was supposed to be on their best behaviour today, Captain's orders. He sighed, looking at the clock on his console. "The Captain must have taken them into the bowels of the ship first, I'm not sure how many of them will make it out alive."
Just to prove him wrong, the door slid open and in came the group, looking around with impressed looks on their faces. All but one anyway. A young man at the back of the group who looked more amused than anything. And bore a certain resemblence to someone he knew...
Charlie walked tall, keeping up a facade of actually caring about this little outing. He had forced his way into the group, so he had to at least pretend that seeing the ship was the reason for him being here. Actually, he was a lot more interested in the crew, one person in particular, someone who he hadn't seen in a long while, someone who's life he made a living hell for a long time, and took pleasure in it.
They walked into what was supposed to be the flight deck, and Charlie stuck his hands in his pocket, an amused look of awe on his face. These dignitaries barely earned the respect they deserved, gawking at a ship this. He shook his head and looked round, noticing a man by the main pilot's console, staring at him. Charlie gave him a look as if to say 'shove off' then turned his attention to the woman beside the man, an indescribable look on her face. Oh good, he'd found her.
The group was allowed to break away and investigate for themselves, so he made a bee-line right over to the couple at the console, a wicked smile on his face. "Sister, fancy seeing you here."

Luke didn't want to do the day alone and almost automatically, Ally had offered to keep him company. Not that she even ever minded spending time with her boyfriend. Ever. The group faded in and then Luke took his eyes away from her suddenly.
Only moments before, they were giggling, talking, laughing and carrying on like they always did, acting like any other couple stupidly in love. But now, something had changed and he was phased by something, no someone. Someone who made her freeze in fear and boil in anger. That bastard. How did he know she was here?
She clenched her jaw angrily as he approached, reaching over to squeeze Luke's hand tightly. "What the hell are you doing here and what do you want now ?" she practically growled at the man, now identified as her brother. That freaking bastard. They had never got along, even though they were blood twins. he hated her for no reason and soaked up so much attention from their parents. He was just cold. yes she was a rebel, yes she wasn't as clean cut as him, but she had never acted so coldly towards him.

The mood in the room plummeted at the man's arrival, Ally fixing Luke's hand in a vice grip that although wasn't painful, was quite uncomfortable, even for his large hands. "Brother?" he managed, completely confused. Ally hadn't told him that she had a brother, they looked practically like twins. The hostility in her voice wasn't hard to miss though, maybe that was why she had never brought him up before.
Charlie looked at the two of them, seeing Ally take the man's hand. So she had found someone at last, how adorable. "Didn't you see who I came in with?" he said, gesturing with his thumb back to the group of dignitaries, "those important people over there. We're here for a tour of the goverment's latest state of the art ship," he continued with false interest. "And who said I wanted anything from you? Hmm?" He sighed, "I don't always have ulterior motives, Sis, despite what you may think."
"Now, how about we stop being rude and you introduce me to your friend here?" he said, holding his hand out to the utterly bewildered man beside Ally.

"How's ya BS your way into that?" she snipped back as soon as she could. He always played the nice innocent card around new people, framing her as the enemy. She wouldn't take that anymore. Not here, not now. Not ever.
Ally chewed her lip, rather than make a scene right now. He knew she was here and she was determined to figure out how and why he knew. "Luke, this is my twin brother Charlie, Charlie, my boyfriend Luke." she replied in a short tone, brimming in annoyance.

"Bull shit? Honestly, when would I ever do a thing like that?" he smirked slightly, enjoying watching her get wound up. She was always like this, throwing a fit at the smallest thing. She had been uncontrollable even as a child, it hadn't been hard to imagine that she would end up on the run like she did. She wasn't as smart as he was, she didn't know how to take care of herself.
"Nice to meet you Luke," he said, keeping up the pleasantries, he would continue to for as long as he could stand it. "I see Ally didn't tell you about me, I'm not surprised, she doesn't really talk about us, her family, much, or visit. We're beginning to think that she's ashamed of us. Can't imagine why." That would really get her going.
Luke had a feeling he was being dragged into an old feud between siblings, dangerous territory. He had never really had a problem with his sisters. Sure, he teased them, but not maliciously. He'd had his fair share of Barbies thrown at him, but it wasn't anything that warranted hatred, they knew that he loved them really. It didn't seem like it between these two. He rose from his seat, feeling better now he had four inches of height over the man, and reluctantly took Charlie's hand, shaking it with a firm grip, making the man's hand twinge. "Yeah, back at ya." And yet, not really.

Aliana glared and continued to grind her jaw. She was keeping her cool, or at least trying to and he was trying so hard to pull it out of her. He'd always acted like he was better than her, pretending to be smarter while he struggled in school. She was a few points shy of genius and rarely had any issues in terms of schooling, and yet, he still thought himself higher. He wasn't even the first born, so she never fully understood why everything was such a battle for him.
It wasn't that she didn't want to visit, she just..well...couldn't. Her parents had rejected her after she was deemed a so called 'criminal'. It broke her mother's heart and now that her slate was wiped clean, she desperately wanted amends. Amends her brother would keep from happening. Maybe this Christmas if the Venia would let them have leave. And if they didn't...maybe she could spend it with Luke and meet his family, all without being too forward of course. Right now, the only safe thing to do, was keep quiet. If she reacted the way he wanted her to, things would not go down quietly, especially in front of these dignitaries. She had come so far after the raid, and was beginning to feel like a new person. The last thing she needed was a selfish, egotistical asshole of a brother, attempting to once again ruin her life.

"Ooh, speechless, that's a new one," Charlie smiled, watching his sister get more and more frustrated. He could tell he was getting to her. Years of practice had proved that he could send her into meltdown in mere minutes. He didn't care that he was the 'younger' one, they were twins, practically the same, and yet, she hated him. He hated her too, so the feeling was mutual.
Luke didn't like where this was going. He could see Ally's stress levels soaring, and it was upseting him as well. She'd never mentioned anything about her brother, so he hadn't been able to judge at first, but now he was pretty sure this guy was a complete and utter ass hole. Ally seemed to know it, she didn't want anything to do with the guy. And to be honest, he didn't either. "Look, back off," Luke said warningly to Charlie, his deep voice resonating with a protective tone.
"Back off? What? Did I do something wrong?" Charlie said, enjoying this but looking innocent. "Obviously, Ally doesn't want you here," Luke said, "so how about you go explore the ship somewhere else, all right?" "Seriously?" "Yes," he said, getting more irritated, "move before I make you." "A threat!" Charlie said, delighted that his game was working, and that other people were beginning to notice the raised voices. "Ally, are you seeing this? Your boyfriend is going to fight for your honor." "Who said anything about fighting?" Although Luke would dearly love to teach this guy a lesson right now, clenching his fist tightly.

This had gone on long enough, and now Luke was involved. Charlie was doing this all for attention, and he was beginning to get it. She wasn't going to breakdown like they did when they were younger. She used to cry, then haul off and punch him, and now, she just avoided any sort of contact. She stood up in between them, one hand on Luke's chest, the other, bracing the invisible wall in front of Charlie.
"Luke, calm down." She motioned towards him, then turned her intimidating grey eyes at her brother. She would hit him...hard if she had to. "And you, you need to leave. We don't need this, and if you have no actual business here, there's no point in staying. I'm sure you have some 'official' business to attend." all of this was said rather calmly, despite how incredibly pissed off she was inside. All she wanted was peace, and she wasn't going to get it, if Charlie kept this up. She would rather hit him, than Luke. Luke wouldn't just slug him, Luke would fight him.

"I think your boyfriend has anger management issues," Charlie shook his head in a patronising fashion, looking back at Ally who now saw fit to open her mouth and speak. "I don't need to leave, I'm here by invitation. The only person who has the right to remove me from this ship is the Captain, and even then, that's questionable." He knew she meant leave her and Luke alone, but this was too much fun. Plus, he wanted to stick around long enough to see if he could get Luke in trouble. The guy was too good to be true, and he was so close to snapping, he could see it in the man's eyes.
Luke heard Ally tell him to calm down, but the patronising took it too far. This guy was a bully, he pushed people around for fun, to get what he wanted. He'd had enough of that at school, he'd got away from that at college, he couldn't put up with guys like that any more. He turned away, deciding that if he didn't, he was going to do something that he regretted.
"Aww, look, big guy can't take it," Charlie said, smirking, infering that he was weak. "Too afraid to do something in front of everyone else? Too scared to defend yourself?"
That's it. He hesitated for a moment, letting Charlie think that he'd got away with it, then he spun, bypassing Ally, burying his fist in Charlie's face. The man fell straight backwards, hitting his head on the floor and falling unconscious. And although Luke heard the words 'Martin.' and 'Brig.' he felt entirely satisfied.

All of it happened in a blur. Ally moved to stop him, but Charlie was already on the floor. Out. Great, just bloody great. He had deserved it, there was no doubt in his mind. Did he honestly want to be hit? That or just wanted to get Luke in trouble. And from the voice calling his name, he had been successful. Ally ran her fingers down his arm, muscles still tense with anger.
"Just go...please. You'll only get in more trouble if you don't." she whispered. "I'll take care of him when he wakes up. I can deal with him." As much as she hated him, he was still her brother. She never wished him to death, but imagined him in pain on more than one occasion. The bastard deserved it. She plopped herself down into one of the swiveling chairs and rolled herself around, waiting for her brother to wake up, and she would give him hell when she did.

It was entirely worth it, Luke had no doubt of that in his mind. The jerk had probably had it coming for a long while now, and he was glad that he had be the one to deliver in. Charlie was going to her a nasty bruise on the back of his head, not to mention his broken nose and possible black eye. Let's see how he did pulling women when he looked like an iron bar looked like it'd hit him in the face.
Ally didn't seem best pleased, and he sighed slightly, relaxing a little. "Don't worry about it," he told her, "they don't want to fly this thing without me. I'll be out in a couple of hours, tops." He gave her arm a gentle squeeze before letting a couple of security personnel escort him from the room. He was pleased to see Charlie was still out cold when he left.

Ally gave a soft half hearted smile at Luke's words and watched him leave. Damn Charlie for getting Luke in trouble. She couldn't even physically put it into words the way she felt right now. How had he managed to screw everything up, all over again? He hadn't changed and probably never would. The minute he stirred, she would certainly give him what he deserved.
Sh heaved a heavy sigh, folding her arms as she kicked off for another swirl. "I hope you're happy..." she muttered. "Ruining someone else life, just because it makes you feel good...well, you got what's coming to you." She knew he couldn't hear her right now, but it felt good to gripe at him anyway. Building up the courage to let him know how she really felt was easier said than done. For some odd reason, she never fought him back, and let him patronize her all her life. Sure she punched him a few times, but that always left her in trouble. Not anymore.

Charlie stirred, unable to stop himself from letting out a moan. Luke had one hell of a right cross, he could give the man that. He was glad that he'd managed to get to retaliate, even if it had meant he'd been knocked unconscious. Not his finest moment, but at least the desired effect had been had. Luke was now nowhere to be seen, and the Captain was looking particularly miffed.
He caught the tail end of what Ally had said, and smirked to himself, moving into a sitting position, watching her spin on the chair in anger and frustration. "I'm not sure about that," he said, "I'd say I got a little more than what was coming to me." Reaching up to touch his nose, he winced, refraining from cursing loudly; it was broken, no doubt about that. He should have been screaming all the way to the medical bay by now.

Ally stopped with her foot firmly on the console at his voice. She dug her fingernails into her arms, heaving a heavy breath as she turned to face him with a furrow in her brow, and her lips firmly planted in anger. He was awake. Broken nose, black eye and a face that looked as if he had been through the ringer. She scoffed a small laugh and focused her attention to him.
"Shut up Charlie. You got exactly what wad coming to you. It's about time somebody hauled off and smacked you...in fact, I'm awfully glad he did. Luke...my boyfriend, which you enjoyed patronizing, doesn't take kindly to being bullied. Pretty sure he broke your nose." She smirked, leaning over her knees to look at him with her intimidating grey gaze.

”Oh please, I know you wish you were the one who did it,” Charlie said, his hand hovering over his nose, ”fancy that, your boyfriend stealing your golden chance to beat your own brother. Sorry, twin brother. Almost seems sort of redundant if you did it now.”
The Captain had escorted the rest of the party off the flight deck now, and a member of the medical team came forward, enquiring as to whether Charlie needed any assistance. ”Yes, thank you,” he said, putting on his nice act again, throwing Ally a look as the woman helped him to his feet. ”I guess I’ll be seeing you around, sis.”
